Abstract

This research and development aimed at producing social science learning materials for the fourth grade of Elementary School students. The learning materials contain economic activities related to natural resources and other potentials in their area. This research used research and development method with reference to the instructional development model adopted by Atwi Suparman. This research involved the fourth grade students in Binong V Primary School, Tangerang Regency. This research used questionnair, observation, and interview to collect data from the respondent. The steps included experts review, one to one evaluation, small group evaluation, and field test. The results indicate that the development of social science learning materials based on contextual approach reach the very good criteria.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effects of intelligence, leg muscle strength, as well as the balance towards the learning outcomes of pencak silat empty-handed single artistic on the students Physical Education Health and Recreation of Islamic University 45 Bekasi. The research method is survey, and the analysis technique is path analysis. This research was held in Islamic University 45 Bekasi with 122 people of population. The sampling technique used was random sampling, with the total sample of 60 people. The instruments used were a rubric 4 scale (very good, good, enough and less) of learning outcomes of pencak silat empty-handed single artistic, intelligence test with IST (Intelligence Structure Test), leg muscle strength with instrument squat test, and test of balance by using modified bass test of dynamic balance. Based the result of data processing and analysis, the conclusions are: (1) intelligence directly affects the learning outcomes of pencak silat empty-handed single artistic, (2) leg muscle strength directly affects the learning outcomes of pencak silat empty-handed single artistic, (3) balance directly affect the the learning outcomes of pencak silat empty-handed single artistic, (4) intelligence directly affects the balance, and (5) leg muscle strength directly effects the balance.

Abstract

This study was conducted to discover whether intervention program with role playing technique (Eagle and chicks) was able to increase the capability of social interaction of a isolation student in SDN Utan Kayu Selatan 13 Pagi, East Jakarta. This study was conducted from October through December 2013 using a single subject approach. The participant in this study included one child with social interaction difficulties. The data were collected through interview and observation. The analysis of data from a single subject experimental research used a chart analysis including the analysis results and analysis of conditions. Analysis of the conditions was used to analyze the changes in the conditions, the conditions of Baseline and Intervention. While inter-condition analysis is the analysis was used to analyze the change from one condition to another condition. The results showed a decreased ability of Baseline conditions and an increasing ability in Intervention condition. The increased capabilities included indicators of positive interaction with peer, participating in group activities, and responsive to others.

Abstract

This study aimed at collecting emperical data of creative writing activities applying whole language approach to the students of grade 5 of Primary School. The study conducted at SDN, Pondok Kelapa 05 Pagi, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, as from August through December 2018, employing classroom action research. The intervention design of the research adopted the model of Kemmis and Taggard. The data were collected by observation and test of writing skill. The data were analyzed by reducing and displaying the data for conclusion, verification, and reflection. The result the resarch showed the improvement of the students’ writing skills in each cycle until the third cycle, that it can be concluded that writing instruction by journal writing activities as a component of whole language approach can improve the students’ creative writing skills.

Abstract

This study aimed at determining the culinary skills improvement of learning outcomes making steamed brownies in children with mild mental retardation using explicit instruction learning model. The research was conducted on the students of class XII SMALB-C Kembar Karya I, East Jakarta, with 2 student from September to October 2012. This study used Classroom Action Research with 2 cycles where each cycle consisted of 2 meetings. The research success was analyzed individually, one aspect for each student as the development of children with mental retardation can not be compared to other children, but the progress on himself. The results showed that using explicit instruction learning model increases learning outcomes in culinary skills of making steamed brownies for the students with mild mental retardation.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) with tutorial model, in shaping students’ sensitivity to the surrounding environment on the local content of Environmental Education which was developed to improve students’ attitudes toward the environment. If the goal of EE is concerned with changes in the attitudes, the Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI) Model Tutorial contains learning that can be taken to expose students to environmental problems that exist, then proceed with value clarification, the students are given the opportunity to assess the conditions, make a choice of available solution alternatives and determine the trouble shooting steps that are reinforced by increasing the sample by the CAI program. Therefore, its use is expected to counter environmental issues, particularly fundamental change of students’attitudes toward the environment. This study used employed the research and development method with evaluative models, and experimental research method that is used to produce a particular product in this case Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI).

Abstract

Many of Grade 5 students of Government Primary School No 12, Kedaung Angke, West Jakarta, did not attain the learning mastery standard in speaking to convey information and writing verbal news summary. This classroom action research was conducted to solve the following problem: Can audiovisual instructional media improve the ability of Grade 5 students of of Government Primary School No 12, Kedaung Angke, West Jakarta, to speak to convey information and write verbal news summary? The research conducted in September and October 2011 aimed at improving the instructional quality in speaking to convey information and writing verbal news summary by using audiovisual media. After 2 cycles of interventions, the students could attain the learning mastery standard in speaking to convey information and writing verbal news summar. The research concluded, using audiovisual instructional media can improve the students’ speaking and writing ability in Indonesian.

Abstract

Preliminary study in several Government Primary Schools indicates a number of Primary School principals have low degree of professionalism and some others have high degree. Based on this fact, this research formulated a problem if there is an effect of the principal’s professionalism towards the job satisfaction of the government primary school teachers. This quantitative research was performed in Kedaung Angke, Sengkareng, West Jakarta as from 1 through 30 April 2014 employing survey method with correlational technique.The variables observed was the principal’s professionalism (X) and the government primary school teachers’ job satisfaction (Y). Based on the statistical analysis the research concluded, there is a significant effect of the principal’s professionalsm toward the government primary school teachers’ job satisfaction. The principals, therefore, are suggested to improve their professionalism to support the maximal attainment of their teachers’job satisfaction.

Abstract

This research aimed at analyzing the impact of the Adversity Quotient (AQ) and critical thinking ability on mathematics learning achievement. This is a correlational survey research design, with population was the student 8th grade in SMPN 251 Jakarta, and was done from March until July 2014. Study sample is 57 students were drawn from a population with simple random sampling technique. The instruments were in the forms of questionnaires and documentation. The data were analyzed using multiple regressions. The result showed: Adversity Quotient (AQ) and critical thinking abilities had positive and significant simultaneous impact on mathematics learning achievement; adversity quotient had a positive and significant impact on mathematics learning achievement; critical thinking ability had a positive and significant impact on mathematics learning achievement.

Abstract

To gain the graduate competence successfully, the university students need to have learning skills. Assisting the students to have the learning skills can be done by providing them with an appropriate module. This research was intended to identify the procedure of developing the module and produce the module which the students can use dependently to improve their learning skills. The research was conducted at the School of Education, State University of Jakarta. as from February through April 2013. The data to be analyzed descriptively were collected by studying the relevant documents, observation, and distributing questionairs to the students. The research found out three phases in producing the module: planning, writing preparation, and writing and editing. Besides, the research produced a the module for learning skills.
