Despite the growing number of research on the topic of trust in e-commerce business in the field of psychology, most of these works are overly studied under the approach of personal trust that emphasizes individual-based intrapersonal psychological processes. This kind of approach offers useful insights yet remain to be an open discussion, particularly on its ability to explain social relations-based behaviors among Asian societies. The present study aimed to propose the relational trust approach that is arguably more relevant ontologically to Asian people. By involving nine participants in a Focus Group Discussion and eight participants in a series of semi-structured interview and performing thematic analysis to the empirical materials generated, the results revealed that psychological dynamics of relational trust is consisted of two main thematic clusters. Firstly, relational-trust forming phase, which is consisted of reference-based favorability, relational risk mitigation, and relational exclusivity; and relational-trust establishment phase, which is consisted relational confirmation of satisfactory and negligible mistakes. Theoretical implication and recommendations are discussed.

Postpartum Depression (PPD) is a mental health problem in mothers that has a serious impact on mothers, children and families. Late detection and treatment can endanger the lives of mothers and their babies. Unfortunately, in Indonesia, research on developing an early detection instruments of PPD based on potential factors or the risk of PPD has not been widely implemented. This study aims to develop a more comprehensive assessment tool for postpartum mothers based on psychological variables that are theoretically correlated with PPD (emotional regulation, maternal confidence, and marital satisfaction) using Rasch model to obtain information regarding psychometric properties of Alat Asesmen Ibu Postpartum (ASIPP). The subjects of this study were 90 women with characteristics that had just given birth between the last 2-24 weeks. Based on the analysis using the Winsteps program, the results of the reliability coefficient of the maternal self-confidence scale and emotion regulation scale were the same which was 0,82 and the reliability coefficient of the marriage satisfaction scale was 0,91. All of the scales were able to reveal psychological constructs according to the objectives of measurement (unidimensional). The maternal self-confidence scale consists of 15 items that fit model. The emotion regulation scale consists of 12 items that fit model and the marriage satisfaction scale consists of 27 items that fit model. Overall, it can be concluded that Alat Asesmen Ibu Postpartum (ASIPP) which contains a maternal self-confidence scale, emotion regulation scale, and marriage satisfaction scale has good psychometric properties so that it can be used to measure maternal self-confidence, emotion regulation, and marriage satisfaction of postpartum women.

This study aims to compare the level of intelligence between male and female, especially in the learning process in college. Someone who could complete their undergraduate study with a shorter period of time is assumed to have a higher level of intelligence. This research was conducted on Syiah Kuala University students who graduated on the second period of 2017 with a population of 758 people. The number of samples used was 262 people that were determined through Slovin formula with a margin error of 5%. The sampling technique used was Stratified Random Sampling with scientific disciplines as the basis for population stratification. The data analysis method used was the Cox Proportional Hazard (Cox PH) model to find a graduation hazard ratio based on gender and scientific disciplines variables. This study showed that female students have 125.5% potential to graduate faster compare to male. More detail, female students have the potential of 127% to graduate faster on the field of social science, economics and humanities, and 123.9% on the field of sciences and technology. Survival analysis also showed that female student has higher probability to be able to complete their studies faster. Accordingly, it can be concluded that female have a higher level of intelligence than male, especially in the learning process in college.

Being grandparents is an important role and valued in the family in which family members have a certain view of the existence of grandparents in the family especially about what will be taught to their grandchildren. When grandchildren have disability, grandparents form a special expectation of themselves and grandchildren resulting on adjustment in the interaction process with grandchildren. This study aims to explore how the interaction between grandparents and grandchildren with disabilities can influence the formation of self-identity and the role of grandparents in the family. The study used a qualitative method, semi-structured interviews were conducted on 10 grandparents of children with intellectual and/or physical disabilities located in Semarang, Central Java, obtained through purposive sampling techniques. An Interpretative Phenomenology Analysis resulted in three main themes, namely: the formation of a grandfather's self-identity, the role of grandparents, and the assessment of the development of their grandchildren. The results highlight the important role of grandparents when a child has a disability, which illustrates that the grandparents' experience and role in the family vary, depending on the child's disability and the context of each family.

Sibling conflict has some influences on children’s development, positively and negatively. It is not only about the frequency, but also about the strategies used in managing conflict. The main purpose of this study was to adapt and to validate Sibling Conflict Strategy Scale developed by Recchia (2009), so it can be used by parents in Indonesia to identify their children’s strategies. The process of adaptation was guided by the International Testing Commission (ITC) Guidelines model for test adaptation, which include forward – backward translation processes, followed by expert reviews to test language and conceptual equivalence. Then, we conducted the validation process by testing the Content Validity Index (CVI) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). Two hundred and six parents in Surabaya who have children in the age range of 52-87 months (M = 71.21) were participated in the pilot study. The result showed that each indicator, dimension, and construct met all the Goodness of Fit criteria (RMSEA < .08; CFI > .9). In addition, the value of Construct Reliability (CR) > .70 and Average Variance Extracted (AVE) > .50 were also obtained. Thus, the Sibling Conflict Strategy Scale can be used as a valid and reliable measurement to measure children’s sibling conflict strategies in Indonesia.Â

This study examined the role of interactional factors on family well-being, such as mother-child interaction, father involvement in parenting and perceived social support in the family. Respondents (N = 219) aged 17-35 years, completed an online survey assessment and answered open questions about family well-being. The results of the study show that the quality of parent-child interaction in the family is considered to play an important role in achieving family well-being, in addition to the perceived social support in the family. Family well-being is the results of the dynamics of interaction within the family which consists of cooperation, acceptance, trust, ritual, family vision and mission, also mutual love. Statistical calculations and theoretical discussions in the perspective of the Family System Theory (FST) are presented in full articles. The results of this study can be an early stage in exploring the parent-child interaction process and the extent of the role of media technology in family well-being in Indonesia.

Child molestation was a form of child exploitation which gets serious concern from Indonesian government. A number of literatures has been investigated on traumatic effect of child predatory among children. However, study which explored child molester’s lived experience was still limited. This study aims to understand the lived experience of child molester after being sentenced. Three prisoners of Correctional Institution Kedungpane Semarang Indonesia were interviewed using semi-structured interview. Using interpretative phenomenological analysis, data were analyzed. Four superordinate themes emerged from analysis: (1) failure to resolve conflicts with victim’s family, (2) disappointment of case disclosure, (3) attempt to escape severe punishment, and (4) effort to accept sentence. This result showed the need to find more effective strategy to help prisoners understand the effect of their behavior to children. Some suggestions to improve insight process among child molesters were also proposed.

Career commitment is a motivation, attitude, and behavior shown by individuals in a profession to live and survive in the chosen career role. Career commitment has three dimensions, namely career identity (career identity), career planning, and career resilience. Career Commitment Measure (CCM) is an instrument measuring career commitment which has been used widely across countries. To use the instrument in different culture, the adaptation process is necessary so that the adapted instrument becomes valid and reliable. However, there is still little detailed information related to research that focuses on developing career commitment measurement tools, especially in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to obtain a standardized version of Indonesia's career commitment measurement tool. The International Test Commission (2016) guideline was used in the process of adaptation. Based on the results of the CFA analysis using the AMOS 22 program, it can be concluded that the overall career commitment model with indicators consisting of three dimensions, namely career planning, career identity and career resilience, has a good fit model. The null hypothesis means that the career commitment model of goodness of fit is acceptable. This explains that the resulting model can describe the actual conditions.
