Abstract

Using a scale in different cultural contexts requires an adaptation process for the sake of fair comparison between obtained scores. The 9-item version of Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES-9) has been adapted in various countries but Indonesia. This study aimed to make a scale adaptation of the UWES-9 in Indonesia. A hundred teachers of inclusive schools in Solo, Semarang, Surabaya, and Malang were involved as participants. Data were collected both online and paper-based. Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Rasch test were used to analyze the data. Result showed that the UWES-9 had high values of: overall person and item interaction (α= .85); person reliability (= .71); and item reliability (= .95). The person measure value (=1.65 logit) and separation value 1.57 indicated two respondent groups based on the degree of work engagement. The item 5 had outfit value MNSQ > 14, meaning that it was unfit. Some items were found biased toward teaching duration in inclusive school. Internal structure analysis using CFA showed that UWES-9 is a unidimensional instrument with established goodness of fit value (RMSEA = .049; CFI, NFI, & GFI > .95). To conclude, UWES-9 has adequate psychometric properties, so it can be used for research or assessment.

Abstract

Voice as a form of constructive expression in improving organizational functions and effectiveness has received great attention, especially in studies that explain the antecedents and consequences of employees’ voices. However, studies that explain psychometric properties of employee voice measurements are still limited. This article aimed to examine the psychometric properties, particularly construct validity, of employee voice measurement. In Study 1, three employee voice instruments were found through literature review from 23 articles in the last five years (2013-2018) from EBSCOhost and Proquest databases. In Study 2, based on the results of the literature review, the sound psychometric property test was carried out using confirmatory factor analysis. The results of data analysis prove that the Employee Voice scale of Liang, Farh, and Farh (2012) is an appropriate model for measuring employee voices with good validity and reliability.

Abstract

Career commitment is a motivation, attitude, and behavior shown by individuals in a profession to live and survive in the chosen career role. Career commitment has three dimensions, namely career identity (career identity), career planning, and career resilience. Career Commitment Measure (CCM) is an instrument measuring career commitment which has been used widely across countries. To use the instrument in different culture, the adaptation process is necessary so that the adapted instrument becomes valid and reliable. However, there is still little detailed information related to research that focuses on developing career commitment measurement tools, especially in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to obtain a standardized version of Indonesia's career commitment measurement tool. The International Test Commission (2016) guideline was used in the process of adaptation. Based on the results of the CFA analysis using the AMOS 22 program, it can be concluded that the overall career commitment model with indicators consisting of three dimensions, namely career planning, career identity and career resilience, has a good fit model. The null hypothesis means that the career commitment model of goodness of fit is acceptable. This explains that the resulting model can describe the actual conditions.

Abstract

Cyberslacking in the educational context is defined as using internet in the classrooms for non-academic purpose during lectures. One of student cyberslacking scale was developed by Akbulut, Dursun, Dönmez, & Sahin through researches towards Turkey undergraduate students. This scale consists of items to measure non-academic internet access activities during lectures. Those activities are sharing, shopping, real time updating, accessing online content and gaming/ gambling. This study aims to adopt the Cyberslacking Scale of Akbulut dkk. in the context of undergraduate Indonesian students. Subjects for adopting this scale are 46 male and 156 female undergraduate university students (N=202) with age range between 18-23 years. Second order confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was conducted to analyze this scale. The results showed that dimension of sharing, shopping, real time updating, accesing online content, and gaming/gambling dimension are positively represented cyberslacking construct. Thus the cyberslacking scale can be used in Indonesian educational context.

Abstract

Panti asuhan, yang telah menjadi salah satu alternatif solusi bagi permasalahan kesejahteraan anak akibat kemiskinan, ketiadaan orang tua, maupun disfungsi keluarga, bagaimanapun telah menjadi ‘rumah’ dan ‘keluarga’ bagi anak-anak yang tidak beruntung selama ratusan tahun. Namun demikian, dengan perubahan zaman di abad 21, termasuk semakin kompleksnya permasalahan sosial yang dihadapi, model pengasuhan di panti asuhan juga perlu diperbaharui. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi kebutuhan anak dan mengembangkan model pengasuhan anak di panti asuhan abad 21. Penelitian ini menggunakan phenomenological qualitative approach dengan metode focused group discussion (FGD). Partisipan berjumlah 34 orang (19 laki-laki dan 15 perempuan) terlibat dalam penelitian ini dengan metode convenience sampling. Data diolah dengan menggunakan thematic analysis dengan software NVivo 12 Pro Ed. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada 4 tema besar kebutuhan anak, yaitu kebutuhan dasar; relasional-sosial; psikologis; dan pendidikan, pembentukan karakter dan prestasi. Dikaitkan dengan krisis abad 21 yang terdiri dari improvement, reconnection, rapid change, dan solution, maka diperoleh matriks model pengasuhan anak panti asuhan abad 21. Dari matriks tersebut diperoleh 16 tugas pengasuhan anak di panti asuhan abad 21 yaitu: filosofi dan spiritualitas; sikap menghargai; regulasi diri; jati diri; rekonsiliasi; kepercayaan; adaptasi; proses mentoring; rasa keberhargaan diri; belas kasih; komitmen; resiliensi; integritas dan tanggung jawab; kolaborasi; spirit of excellence; dan inovasi. Kata kunci: panti asuhan, LKSA, kebutuhan anak, abad 21, model pengasuhan.

Abstract

Suicidal ideation pada mahasiswa menjadi salah satu masalah kesehatan mental yang berdampak negatif terhadap fungsi-fungsi kehidupan termasuk meningkatkan resiko perilaku bunuh diri. Akan tetapi penelitian mengenai suicidal ideation belum banyak ditemukan di Indonesia. Berbagai teori suicidality menjelaskan perceived stress sebagai faktor kerentanan individu untuk memiliki ide bunuh diri. Meskipun demikian, tidak semua mahasiswa yang mengalami stress pada akhirnya memikirkan untuk bunuh diri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara perceived stress dengan suicidal ideation yang dimoderasi self-compassion. Pengambilan data dilakukan kepada 261 mahasiswa aktif di perguruan tinggi dengan menggunakan Perceived Stress Scale, Self-compassion Scale, dan Suicidal Ideation Scale. Analisis statistik digunakan untuk menguji peran moderasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa hipotesis diterima, yakni terdapat efek moderasi self-compassion terhadap hubungan antara perceived stress dengan suicidal ideation (b3= -.019, R2= 0.424, p<.05). Self-compassion, khususnya komponen common humanity dan mindfulness dapat melemahkan hubungan antara perceived stress dengan suicidal ideation. Peranan perceived stress terhadap kemunculan suicidal ideation tergantung dari self-compassion yang dimiliki individu. Jika mahasiswa memiliki self-compassion yang tinggi maka kecenderungan persepsi stress berkembang menjadi ide bunuh diri menjadi berkurang.Suicidal ideation among college students was a mental health problem that caused negative impact to various life functions and also increasing suicide risk. Unfortunately, studies regarding suicidal ideation were still scarce in Indonesia. Various suicidality theories explained perceived stress as an individual's vulnerability factor to have suicidal ideation. Even so, not all college students who experience stress would develop suicidal ideation. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between perceived stress and suicidal ideation moderated by self-compassion. Data collection was done on 261 active college students using Perceived Stress Scale, Self-compassion Scale and Suicidal Ideation Scale. Statistical analysis was used to test the moderation effect. The results support the notion that self-compassion act as moderating variable in relationship between perceived stress and suicidal ideation (b3= -.019, R2= 0.424, p<.05). One's self-compassion especially common humanity and mindfulness had potential role for weaken the relationship between perceived stress and suicidal ideation. These findings highlighted the importance of self-compassion among college students. If a college student has a high level of self-compassion, the tendency of perceived stress developing into suicidal ideation will be reduced.

Abstract

Bunuh diri merupakan permasalahan kesehatan publik global yang serius dan banyak terjadi pada mahasiswa. Salah satu faktor penting dalam upaya pencegahan bunuh diri adalah suicidal ideation. Religious coping ditemukan memiliki hubungan dengan suicidal ideation, namun studi yang meneliti hubungan kedua variabel tersebut pada mahasiswa di Indonesia masih jarang dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan apakah religious coping berkorelasi dengan suicidal ideation pada mahasiswa. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada mahasiswa aktif dengan jumlah sampel 247 orang dengan teknik convenience sampling. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan Rank Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa negative religious coping berkorelasi positif signifikan dengan suicidal ideation (ρ = .342, p < .05) dan positive religious coping berkorelasi negatif signifikan dengan suicidal ideation (ρ = -.262, p < .05). Artinya, semakin sering mahasiswa melakukan positive religious coping, tingkat suicidal ideation yang dimilikinya semakin menurun, sedangkan jika mahasiswa sering melakukan negative religious coping, maka tingkat suicidal ideation yang dimilikinya akan semakin meningkat.Suicide is a serious global public health problem, and happens often in college student population. One of the important factors in suicide prevention is suicidal ideation. Religious coping has been found to be associated with suicidal ideation, but studies about the correlation of both variables in Indonesian college students are scarce. This study aims to see if religious coping correlates with suicidal ideation in college students. Data collection was carried out on active college students with a total sample of 247 people using convenience sampling. Data analysis was done using Rank Spearman. The results found that negative religious coping has a positive significant correlation with suicidal ideation (ρ = .342, p < .05) and positive religious coping has a negative significant correlation with suicidal ideation (ρ = -.262, p < .05). This means that the more often a college student uses positive religious coping, their suicidal ideation will lower, and if college students use negative religious coping often, their suicidal ideation will rise

Abstract

The study aims to adapt and validate the MHC-LF in Indonesia. The sample used was 315 participants (29 client group and 286 general group. Psychometric property analysis was carried out, including item analysis, reliability estimation using test-retest and internal consistency, and collecting validity evidence based on test content, internal structure, and relationships with other variables. The results showed that psychological well-being item number 10 and social well-being number 3 had insignificant loading factor values. MHC-LF reliability is high, with r= 0.85-0.94. This shows that the score produced by the MHC-LF is stable over time, and the items that compose it have internal consistency and are unidimensional. The expert panel judgment provides evidence that all MHC-LF items are relevant to measured aspects. Confirmatory factor analyses confirmed the three-factor model of emotional, psychological, and social well-being. MHC-LF is positively correlated with WEMWBS and negatively correlated with BDI-II. The difference in the mean scores of each subscale and the total significantly differed between the general and client groups. The validity evidence proves that the MHC-LF is a measuring tool that measures subjective well-being. The systematic judgmental scale provides evidence that the measurement tool for the translation results is equivalent to the original version.

Abstract

Anak dengan Gangguan Pemusatan Perhatian dan Hiperaktifitas (GPPH) umumnya tidak mampu memfokuskan atensi, mengontrol diri, mengatur diri, dan mengarahkan diri pada tujuan. Hal tersebut dikarenakan kurangnya kemampuan selective attention, yaitu kemampuan untuk mengabaikan distraksi yang menyebabkan tugas-tugas yang dikerjakan cenderung tidak selesai sesuai instruksi dan batas waktu yang diberikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode pelatihan dengan pendekatan psikoedukasi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan selective attention. Metode penelitian menggunakan quasi eksperimental dengan single case-interrupted time series design. Instrument yang digunakan untuk mengukur selective attention menggunakan The D2 of Attention Test. Subjek penelitian ini adalah anak dengan GPPH predominan inatensi sebanyak satu orang yang diambil dengan teknik pengambilan sampel purposive sampling. Hasil pengukuran skor TN-E pada tahap pretest diperoleh 290 poin dan meningkat pada tahap posttest menjadi 413 poin. Dibandingkan dengan norma pada GPPH usia delapan tahun, maka terjadi peningkatan dari kategori di bawah rata-rata menjadi kategori di atas rata-rata. Berdasarkan data kuatitatif dan data kualitatif, menunjukkan bahwa metode pelatihan peningkatan selective attention dengan pendekatan psikoedukasi dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan selective attention pada anak dengan GPPH.

Abstract

Adolescent are required to be ready to make career decisions, such as choosing the right college major. Career decision readiness is defined as the capability of an individual to make appropriate career choice while taking into account the complexity of family, social, economic, and organizational factors that influence an individual’s career development. This study aims to find the content validity of measuring career decision readiness based on high school student condition in Indonesia . An expert review process from three lecturers and six educational psychology practitioners was carried out to obtain evidence of validity based on content. The expert review process is divided into three stages, the first stage of reviewing 160 items by three lecturers, the second stage of revising the items, and the third stage of the review process by six educational psychology practitioners.The results of the research showed that 74 items for measuring career decision readiness had an I-CVI value above 0.78 and an S-CVI value of 0.98. Further research needs to be done by testing measuring instruments and collecting data to find other evidence of validity and gathering norms.
