Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of tourist experience and destination image on the decision to visit Rawa Belong Silat Village, known as an urban cultural tourism destination in West Jakarta. The study uses a quantitative approach with independent variables of tourist experience (X1) and destination image (X2), and the dependent variable of visiting decision (Y). Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 96 tourists who had visited the village, then analyzed using multiple linear regression with validity, reliability, and classical assumption tests using SPSS. The results showed that tourist experience significantly influenced the decision to visit (β = 0.441; sig. 0.000), with the emotional (involvement in culture) and intellectual (acquisition of new knowledge) dimensions as the dominant predictors. Destination image also had a significant influence (β = 0.365; sig. 0.000), mainly supported by the uniqueness of Betawi silat culture and cognitive image related to facilities. Simultaneously, both variables contributed 49.8% (R² = 0.498) to the decision to visit. The research conclusion confirms that tourist experience, particularly the emotional and intellectual aspects, as well as the image of cultural uniqueness, are key factors determining visit interest. The practical implications of these findings are the need for managers to: (1) develop interactive activities such as silat workshops and participatory cultural performances to strengthen the emotional-intellectual experience; (2) utilize digital marketing strategies that highlight the authentic identity of Betawi silat; and (3) improve the quality of supporting facilities to strengthen the cognitive image of the destination. Keywords: Betawi Culture, Cultural Tourism, Destination Image, Tourist Experience, Tourism Village, Visit Decision.

Abstract

This paper aims to explain the dilemma of handing over customary land for oil palm plantations in Nagari Kinali. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection through in-depth interviews and literature studies. The results of the study show that there is dualism between the holders of the Tuanku Kinali title as leaders of the customary area in Nagari Kinali. As a result, internal conflicts between them occur. Additionally, conflicts with companies arise due to the lack of transparency in the distribution of plasma and plasma management. This has become a dilemma for the community. On the one hand, they conflict with Ninik Mamak, and on the other hand, they must resist companies taking away their rights. Therefore, this is inseparable from the influence of capitalism, which is marked by an increasing trend of commercialization and monetization that has penetrated the very fabric of traditional rural communities. Keyword: Customary Land, Dilemma, Handover, Kinali.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of anger on brand hate, as well as its impact on the dissemination of negative electronic word of mouth (negative eWOM) and consumer boycott intentions. The research employed a quantitative method using an online survey of 198 respondents who were aware of the Israel–Palestine conflict. Data were analyzed using SEM-PLS with WarpPLS 7.0 software. The results show that anger has a significant effect on brand hate. Furthermore, brand hate was found to significantly influence negative eWOM and consumer boycott, while religiosity did not moderate the relationship between anger and brand hate. These findings indicate that negative emotions toward socio political issues play a more dominant role in driving boycott actions compared to religious dimensions. Therefore, in practical terms, the results encourage businesses to be more sensitive to socio political values in maintaining brand image and sustainability.  Keywords: Anger, Brand Hate, Consumer Boycott, Negative eWOM, Religiosity.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of digital technology in the preservation, promotion, and protection of Traditional Cultural Expressions (TCE) as an effort to bridge tradition and modernity. Digital transformation, particularly through the internet and social media, has changed the way people access, distribute, and appreciate traditional cultural expressions. This research uses a qualitative approach with a critical paradigm through literature review and analysis of international policy documents from WIPO, UNESCO, and related institutions published between 2020 and 2025. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis and critical interpretation techniques based on theories of the political economy of media and cultural commodification. The results show that digital technology plays a dual role: as an effective means of expanding the distribution and increasing the visibility of TCE, while also posing risks to the authenticity, communal ownership, and legal protection of indigenous peoples. Innovations such as Creative Commons licenses, indigenous protocols, and digital rights management have been shown to offer more adaptive protection alternatives. This research concludes that the successful preservation of TCE in the digital age depends on collaboration between indigenous peoples, states, and global institutions in creating an inclusive, ethical, and sustainable digital ecosystem. Keywords: Digital Communication, Cultural Digitalization, Indigenous Communities, Intellectual Property Protection, Traditional Cultural Expressions (TCE).

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to reconstruct historical developments, analyse architectural characteristics, and evaluate the urban planning system of Harappa as a representation of the progress of early South Asian civilisation. The method used in this research is the historical-descriptive method with heuristic stages, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography as the analytical framework. The results of the study show that the city of Harappa was founded by the Dravidian tribe and reached its peak of urbanisation in the Mature Harappa Phase (±2450–2200 BC), which was marked by architectural advances, multi-storey construction, the use of standard fired bricks, and the existence of a fort as a symbolic and administrative centre. The layout of the city of Harappa shows a consistent grid pattern, a division between the Upper City and the Lower City, and a systematically integrated drainage and clean water network. The presence of public spaces and administrative facilities further highlights the collective coordination in community life. The conclusion of this research indicates that Harappa was a unique and well-planned urban entity, reflecting technological maturity, complex urban planning systems, and established social structures in early South Asian civilisation. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dynamics of conflict and collaboration between WhatsApp and Facebook in the context of a corporate acquisition and its implications for organizations and society. The method used is a qualitative approach with literature review and document analysis related to organizational conflict, privacy policies, and the corporate integration process. The results show that the conflict was triggered by differences in organizational values, particularly regarding platform monetization and user privacy protection, which resulted in changes in organizational structure, the departure of WhatsApp's founder, and a decline in public trust. This study concludes that the alignment of strategic vision and organizational values is a critical factor in the success of collaboration after a technology company acquisition. Keywords: Acquisition, Conflict, WhatsApp and Facebook.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analysis the relationship between presidential leadership in Burkina Faso and the quality of national democracy by focusing on the dynamics of charisma and authoritarianism in political leadership. Burkina Faso is situated within an unstable hybrid democratic system, marked by the popular uprising in 2014 and the military coup in 2022, reflecting fragile democratic institutions and executive dominance. The research method employed is a qualitative approach using theoretical analysis that integrates authoritarian, participatory, and laissez-faire leadership theories to assess presidential leadership characteristics and their implications for democratic practices. Data are analysis descriptively and analytically by examining political, social, and economic dynamics influencing national democratic stability. The results show that authoritarian-oriented leadership has significantly contributed to the deterioration of democratic quality in Burkina Faso. Charismatic elements of leadership are frequently utilized to strengthen regime legitimacy, while authoritarian practices, including the use of informal self-defense groups such as the Volunteers for the Defense of the Patherland (VDP), undermine democratic mechanisms. Restrictions on press freedom and pressure on the media further exacerbate democratic decline. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that improving democratic quality in Burkina Faso requires a transition toward more democratic and service-oriented leadership, the strengthening of democratic institutions, and the protection of press freedom as essential pillars of democratization. Keywords: Authoritarianism, Burkina Faso, Charisma, Democracy, Leadership.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze legal certainty and the legal consequences of the annulment of Suspension of Debt Payment Obligations (PKPU) and bankruptcy decisions through Judicial Review in Supreme Court Decision Number 24 PK/Pdt.Sus-Pailit/2024. The research method employs normative legal research with statutory, conceptual, and case approaches, analyzed through the theory of legal certainty and the theory of legal protection. The results show that the annulment of PKPU and bankruptcy decisions through Judicial Review creates legal uncertainty because it eliminates all legal consequences of the Commercial Court and cassation decisions that had obtained permanent legal force. The annulment restores the debtor’s legal status, but at the same time reduces legal certainty for creditors, raises issues regarding the validity of the curator’s actions, and potentially triggers further disputes in bankruptcy proceedings. The study concludes that the availability of cassation and Judicial Review in PKPU cases following Constitutional Court Decision Number 23/PUU-XIX/2021 prolongs debt settlement and weakens the character of PKPU as a fast and final mechanism. Therefore, stricter normative limitations on the use of extraordinary legal remedies are required to maintain a balance between legal certainty and legal protection for both debtors and creditors. Keywords: Annulment of Judgment, Bankruptcy, Judicial Review, Legal Certainty, Suspension of Debt Payment Obligations.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the efforts of the Indonesian Maritime Security Agency (Bakamla) in combating illegal fishing practices in the North Natuna Sea. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design at the Natuna Bakamla Station. The results of the study indicate that Bakamla carries out efforts to combat illegal fishing through a preventive and participatory approach, and plays an indirect role in the penal aspect. These efforts include routine sea patrols, the use of maritime monitoring technology, cross-agency coordination, and the involvement of coastal communities through the Indonesian Sea Guard Volunteers (RAPALA). However, the effectiveness of Bakamla's task implementation still faces obstacles such as limited human resources, fleet, budget, and overlapping authority between maritime law enforcement agencies. The conclusion of this study shows that Bakamla's role in combating illegal fishing in the North Natuna Sea has been running quite optimally as the vanguard of non-military maritime security, but requires institutional strengthening, increased coordination between agencies, and more comprehensive policy support to realize effective and sustainable maritime surveillance. Keywords: Illegal fishing, Maritime Security Agency, North Natuna Sea.
