Due to a signicant increase of learning achievement using B Package using ICT itâ€™s strongly recomended to use multimedia in teaching mathetmaticts. Information and communication technology (ICT), is developing so fast. Its development is not easy to predict. Now a days, ICT is utilized by almost all aspects of human life including education. The research conducted was regarding the use of ICT to teach math. It was how influential interactive media can be used to facilitate instructional program of B Package to teach mathematics. Rasearch findings indicate that there is significant increase in learning achievement of B Package program participants by using interactive multimedia. This article recommends, therefore, using ICT based instructions with variety of interactive multimedia.

This research aims at (a) finding out the participation of female members of The Board of Village Representatives (BPD) in Banyudono Subdistrict, Boyolali District, in initation, legitimation, exution, and evaluation of the decisions at the village level, (b) discovering internal and external factors in the participation, and (c) formulating some suggestions in developing the programs of empowering the females roles of BPD members. Results indicate very low participation of BPD female members in initation, legitimation, and evaluation but moderately high in the excution of decisions. Although they have high formal education, they lack in nonformal and informal education wich make them weak in attitude. Research suggests that (a) the female members of BPD should improve their knowledge in village government, budgetting, legislation, and supervision; (b) BPD should organise training for all its members; (c) the recruitment criteria for its members should be adjusted to the local society; and further study should be conducted to strengthen the role of female members of BPD.

In nonformal education, tutors are to assist learners to learn as well as to motivate them. To make these tutors be able to improve their competencies, they should get appropriate/relevant trainings. This article reports a researchs on tutors competency in conducting instruction for functional literacy program in Wara Utara . Research findings show tutor are still lack of competencies in assisting and motivating learners in an instructional situation. Itâ€™s recommended that they should be trained on learning motivation.

Creativity is one of the objectives for nonformal education. However, creativity is not well developed enough as it was observed at Play Group of Aisyiyah 02 Pati. Through waste cartoon, children can be trained to develop their creativity. The article reports the progress of how waste cartoons be made as puppets. It is an art work, and students should be creative. The progress shows how talented and creative learners are in producing puppets and telling stories , too.

The purpose of this study is to describe smoking behavior of youth. The methods are quatitative, and a multiple case study. Data gathered in the study show that smoking behavior performed by youth has reached a critical level. The Determinant factor influencing their behavior is social environment, such as school, family, and society. Based on findings, it is neglected that education insitution either formal or informal, and youth organizations do serious efforts to minimize smoking behavior. Also, they should run a continous program to promote healthy life among youth.

Instructional strategy is one of important factors to achieve instructional objectives. The instructional strategy developed for a teaching and learning situation will be effective if instructional methods and models are appropriately selected. This article discusses some considerations upon the selection of appopriate instructional strategies and describes a case study in life skills training. The case proves the significant role of appropriate instructional strategies in achieving training objectives.

The quality of out-of-school education can be improved not only by providing enough facilities and budget or improving the curriculum but also and the most important is by developing the quality of the human resources such as facilitators, instructors, partners, or tutors. This article discusses how competence certification can be used as a means of improving the quality of educators in outofschool education. The competence certification is to be based on the basic competence, competence standards, and competence indicators which are offered in this article.

State rules No. 19, 2005 on National Education Standards has defined eight criteria as a reference in developing education in all areas. One criterion is regarding standards on educators and educational personnel. The term educators may refer to teachers, instructors, and tutors. The later is applied to literacy education area in NFE. Tutors are to have background on pedagogy, good personality, good social relationships and be professional. These competencies are of minimum requirements. The article discusses a model on tutorâ€™s competencies which reflect their expected performances, and their supporting subcomponents as well as attached elements.

Literacy/illiteracy is not a simple matter. It does not only show whether a person can read and write words and letters, but also whether a person can face complicated problems of human life. Illiterate persons usually have weaknesses in understanding their own problems comprehensively. They suffer from an inferiority state of mind. They usually feel less important than others as they are unable to solve their own problems. Literacy education for youths and adults as a movement to improve the human life condition, therefore, should not be understood in a technical level i.e. teaching reading and writing letters and words. Words are not empty. Words represent human thought about world and reality. They also represent the usersâ€™ desire to do something. So, literacy education for youths and adults must be designed to improve the learnersâ€™ cognition, and to develop a new perspective of self-consciousness in relation to the willingness to cope with the learnersâ€™ life problems. The youths and adults learning activities must be based on transformative perspective, as they have been involved in the social development. The learning activities must transform them to be active participants or agents in the social development. Literacy education indeed must be considered in a wider understanding and not in a simple one.

Teachers and education personnel of nonformal education play an important and significant role in educating Indonesian people all of the country. They function as the front layers in implementing all programs of nonformal education. The quality of nonformal education, therefore, is determined by the quality and the quantity of teachers and education personnel of nonformal education. For this reason their competence or ability should be developed through a well planned program continuously and systematically. This article discusses three strategic agenda to develop the quality of teachers and education personnel of nonformal education. They are the establishment of professional association for teachers and education personnel of nonformal education, certification of teachers and education personnel of nonformal education, and development of the draft of legal rules for the status, roles functions and responsibilities of teachers and education personnel of nonformal education.
