Abstract

Poverty and unemployment problems are some of the problems in several Asian countries, especially in Indonesia. The Indonesian government and private institutions have made various efforts to overcome the problems through various empowerment programs. However, the results have not been optimal in reducing poverty and unemployment, especially in archipelagic areas that are geographically difficult to reach. This research aimed to describe the conceptual model of social entrepreneurship in the Indonesian archipelagic communities. The method used was qualitative and the data were collected using interviews and observation. The empirical findings showed that there were several components in developing social entrepreneurship, namely human and natural resource potentials, a motivator, mutual cooperation values, and community partners. In conclusion, social entrepreneurship could empower the archipelagic communities through social values built on community participation through a group approach by developing local potentials, motivation, and mutual cooperation values. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan model pemberdayaan perempuan dan pengarusutamaan gender melalui layanan pendidikan masyarakat pada Pusat Kegiatan Belajar Masyarakat di DKI Jakarta. Penelitian menggunakan metode survei, teknik pengumpulan data melalui penyebaran angket, dan teknik analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hal-hal sebagai berikut. (1) Layanan program pendidikan masyarakat yang paling banyak diikuti oleh responden adalah pendidikan kesetaraan (61,4%), dan jenis kelamin responden dalam penelitian ini adalah perempuan (75,8%). (2) Pemberdayaan perempuan dan pengarusutamaan gender melalui pendidikan masyarakat (61,5%). (3) Model pemberdayaan perempuan dan pengarusutamaan gender melaui pendidikan masyarakat, dipandang strategis dengan pengintegrasian berbagai program yang direncanakan oleh pemerintah dengan program life skill sehingga akan menghasilkan sumberdaya manusia yang berakhalak mulia, cerdas, terampil dan mandiri. Kata Kunci: model pemberdayaan perempuan, layanan Pendidikan masyarakat A MODEL OF WOMAN EMPOWERMENT AND GENDER MAINSTREMING THROUGH COMMUNITY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE IN THE COMMUNITY LEARNING ACTIVITY CENTER Abstract: This study was aimed to describe a model of woman empowerment and gender mainstreaming through the community educational service in the community learning activity center in Greater Jakarta Special Capital Region. This study employed the survey method. The data were collected through questionnaires and were analyzed using the descriptive statistics. The findings showed the following: (1) the community educational program service mostly joined by the respondents was the equality education (61.4%), and most of the respondents were female (75.8%). (2) The woman empowerment and gender mainstreaming was carried out through the community education (61.5%). (3) The model of woman empowerment and gender mainstreaming through the community education is considered as being strategic with the integration of various programs planned by the government with the life skill program to produce human resources with the good character, being intelligent, skillful, and self-dependent. Abstract: A Performance-Based Training Model to Improve EquivalenceEducation Tutors Competence. This study aimed to develop a training model toimprove equivalence education tutors competence, employing a performancebasedtraining model, focusing on tutors instructional competence. The trainingmodel was developed based on the fact that the current training process was tooconventional and emphasized the cognitive aspect only. The performance-basedtraining model was developed through research and development. Abstract

This study aims to determine the peer-counselling skills profile who are the members of PIK R (Youth Counselling Information Center), Educational Pathways in Depok. This research used a quantitative approach with a survey method. The samples were selected by using non-probability sampling, saturation sampling technique applied. The sample of the research is all the members of PIK R Educational Pathways in Depok. The respondents are from public junior high school of SMP Negeri 1 (13 students), public junior high school of SMP Negeri 2 (12 students), public junior high school of SMP Negeri 5 (17 students), public vocational school of SMK Negeri 1 (37 students and public senior high school of SMA Negeri 1 (26 students). The instrument used was the Counselor Competencies Scale – Revised consisting of 12 assessment indicators, in which each indicator has 5 statements. Categorization in this study uses a Likert scale with 5 answer choices. The results of the study showed as follows: overall categorization value that the counseling skills of PIK R members exceeding expectations by 25%, meeting expectations by 37%, approaching expectations by 30%, below expectations by 6%, and endangering by 1%. The highest categorization results regarding the peer-counseling skills profile of PIK R members have met expectations of 37%. Therefore, it indicates that the peer counselors of PIK Depok members have knowledge, skills, consistent traits, and they are proficient in counseling skills. The result met the objectives of the Generation Planning Program (GenRe) training activities for peer educators and PIK R peer counselors, namely to improve the knowledge, attitudes and behavior of peer educators and counselors in the GenRe program in managing and developing Indonesian youth PIK, particularly in Depok.

Abstract

Keberhasilan pelaksanaan kegiatan pembelajaran pendidikan keaksaraan khususnya paket C di lingkungan pendidikan nonformal akan sangat ditentukan oleh kompetensi dan ketersediaan tenaga kependidikan nonformal.  Ketersedian bisa dilihat dari jumlah tenaga kependidikan yang ada, kualifikasi tenaga kependidikan, lama mengajar, dan usia. Masalahnya umum berkenan dengan keternaan Tutor adalah belum dipetakannya kualifikasi pendidikan dan kompetensi tutor pendidikan kesetaraan khusus program paket C setara SMA pada Pusat Kegiatan Belajar Masyarakat di DKI Jakarta.Berdasarkan alasan tersebut, secara khusus tujuan kajian ini untuk mendapatkan data dan informasi tentang: (1) Tingkat kualifikasi Pendidikan Tutor Program Paket C pada saat ini dan (2) Profil kompetensi pedagogik dan andragogik tutor pendidikan kesetraan pada  saat ini. Pendekatan yang akan digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan menggunkan metode deskriptif. Hasil penelitian dideskripsikan sebagai berikut: pertama, sebagian besar tutor kualifikasinya sudah qualified dan hanya keahlian mengajarnya yang masih miss-match. Kedua, Profil kompetensi pedagogik dan andragogik tutor paket C rata-rata hanya 37,3%. Kompetensi tutor diketahui berdasarkan pemahaman dan persepsi tutor terhadap indikator (1) kemampuan untuk menguasai landasan kependidikan misalnya paham terhadap tujuan pendidikan yang harus dicapai, baik tujuan nasional, tujuan institusional, tujuan kurikuler, dan tujuan pembelajaran; (2) pemahaman terhadap tahap perkembangan warga belajar, dan teori-teori belajar; (3) kemampuan dalam penguasaan materi sesuai bidang studi yang diajarkannya; (4) kemampuan dalam mengaplikasikan berbagai metodologi dan strategi pembelajaran; (5) kemampuan memanfaatkan beragam media dan sumber belajar; (6) kemampuan dalam melaksanakan evaluasi pembelajaran; dan (7) kemampuan dalam menyusun program pembelajaran. Kata Kunci:  Tutor Paket C, Kompetensi, Pembelajaran.

Abstract

Kemampuan koneksi matematis menjadi salah satu tujuan pembelajaran yang penting. Peningkatan kemampuan koneksi matematis dapat dicapai melalui kegiatan pembelajaran yang direncanakan dengan baik melalui latihan soal yang sesuai serta pengenalan karakteristik peserta didik, salah satunya disposisi matematis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh bentuk tes dan disposisi matematis terhadap kemampuan koneksi matematis peserta didik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain faktorial 2 x 2. Sampel sebanyak 86 peserta didik yang berasal dari dua sekolah. Sampel dibedakan menjadi dua kelompok yang masing-masing diberi latihan soal berbentuk esai dan pilihan ganda. Selanjutnya diberikan instrumen disposisi matematis untuk pengelompokkan disposisi matematis tinggi dan rendah. Pada akhir perlakuan, sampel diberikan instrumen tes yang mengukur kemampuan koneksi matematis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan koneksi matematis peserta didik yang diberi tes esai lebih baik daripada peserta didik yang diberi tes pilihan ganda dan tidak terdapat pengaruh interaksi yang signifikan antara pengaruh bentuk tes dan disposisi matematis terhadap kemampuan koneksi matematis peserta didik. Kata kunci: Kemampuan Koneksi Matematis, Bentuk Tes, Disposisi Matematis

Abstract

This research aimed at discovering a instructional model to improve self learning of students package C program. Alternative selected to reach the objective of this research to develop a instructional model of Blended Learning, focusing at self learning. The instructional model was developed based on the fact and consideration that the on going instruction process was regarded too conventional. Learning Blended learning model on the package C program is conducted by the method of research and development through three stages: a preliminary study, the preparation of conceptual models and test to determine the effectiveness of the model. The result showed that instructional model of Blended Learning is effective to improve the self learning of students package C program at the Center for Community Learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to unveil the instructional model which can strengthen the self-learning competence of the university students. A peer group instructional model is choosen as the alternative model to develop. The research findings indicate that (1) the university students’ learning tends to be textbook centered based instruction and does not motivate the students to develop their learning strategy, (2) peer group instructional model can improve the students’ competence in self-learning, formulating the objectives, planning the strategy, utilizing learning resources, using media, comprehending the main ideas in the learning materials, exposing ideas, understanding learning networks, and measuring learning achievement.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe woman empowerment and gender equalization through community education service at Community Learning Activity Center in Jakarta. The research which was conducted as from Agust through December 2012 used survey method with descriptive questionnaire and the data were analyzed descriptively . The findings showed (1) the education community service program mostly undertaken by the respondents (61.4%) is gender equalization, and the female respondents of the research is 75.8%, (2) Woman empowerment and gender equalization through community education service is 61.5%. The woman empowerment and gender equalization is regarded as very strategic by integrating various programs designed by the government known as life skills to create good, intelligent, and independent human resources.

Abstract

This study aims at finding a model of Sustainable Technical Assistance that can improve the Package C tutors’competence. The alternative model selected to achieve the research objective was by developing a model based on Sustainable Technical Assistance and focusing on the tutors’ technical ability to perform their instructional tasks. The development of this model was based on the assumption that the previous model was conducted partially, much oriented on cognitive aspect, and conducted in conventional ways, and the content did not fit to the participants’ needs. The Sustainable Technical Assistance model was developed applying research and development approach. The results showed that the model needs to be tried out to improve the pedagogical competence of Package C tutors at the national standard.
