Abstract

The aim of this research is to provide an additional empirical evidence to the companies concerning systematical risk effect of general stock issued from the stock exchange at the Jakarta Stock Exchange. It was done by analyzing the financial leverage effect, the stock return standard deviation and the stock return correlation against the market return against the general stock systematical risk, the financial risk, as analyzing differences among the general stock systematical risk, the financial risk, stock return standard deviation, the stock return correlation and the market return of the delisting company as well as the sound company in between.This research used the secondary data, i.e. data relating to monthly stock price (closing price), monthly Composite stock Price Index, Total Asset and Total Debt. This time period of the research was 24 months before the emittens removed from the stock exchange. Population of the study consisted of all emittens at the Jakarta Stock Exchange since 1 January 1994 up to 31 December 2000 include 291 listing and 33 delisting emittens. Sample selection was conducted by utilizing purposive sampling method, and yielding 31 delisting and 31 sound emittens as a standard of comparison.This research’s analytical device was a multiple regression to analyze the influence of independent variables toward dependent variable. Independent sample t-test was used to analyze the differences between the sound and the delisting companies.Based on the research result there was found that the stock return deviation standard and the stock return correlation and the market return affecting the general stock systematical risk significantly. Apart from that there was a significant difference between the sound company’s financial leverage as well as the general stock systematical risk and the delisting company’s.

Abstract

The capital market is one of investment alternative that able to yield optimal advantage for investor. Each investor is requiring of relevant information with transaction development in stock. This is very important to be made in consideration in compiling strategy and decision making of investment in capital market. In taking decision to conduct a require to be paid attention two matter that is investment risk and return. At securities that have same return, investor try to look for the lower risk. The objectives of this research to analyze the influence of interest rate, trading volume, and exchange rate to sector property stock return that listed on BEI in 2003-2007 periods.This research using time series data from JSX Statistic ICMD (Indonesian Capital Market Directory) and Indonesian Bank monthly published on BEI in January 2003 until December 2006. Population in this research is all company which included in property sector that is 45 companies and number of samples 20 companies by passing phase purposive sample. Analyze technique to use in this research is multiple linier regression to obtain describe which totally regarding relationship between one variable with other variable. The result of this reseacrh shows that interest rate variable has a negative and significant to stock return, while trading volume has positive and not significant to stock return, and than exchange rate have negative significant influence to stock return.

Abstract

This study is purposed to analyze the performance of employees BPKP Representative of Central Java Province. The study was conducted to examine the influence of organizational culture, competencies and organizational commitment to employee performance that is mediated by the motivation to work. The study was conducted in Central Java BPKP Representatives, with 105 employee respondents. Data was collected using a questionnaire method is to provide a list of questions or questionnaires directly to the respondents. Data analysis techniques in this study using analysis of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results show organizational culture, competence, and organizational commitment has a positive and significant influence on work motivation in improving employee performance. The influence of organizational culture on motivation is a significant and positive; influence of competence on motivation is a significant and positive; influence of organizational commitment on motivation is a significant and positive; influence of organizational culture on employee performance is significant and positive; competence influence on employee performance is significant and positive; influence of organizational commitment on employee performance is significant and positive, and the effect of work motivation on employee performance is significant and positive.

Abstract

This research discussed relationship between service quality and consumers satisfaction in term  of consumers purchase intention at four service industries in Semarang.  The appearance of conflicts among researchers concerning to the relationships between the service quality, consumers satisfaction in the one side and the purchase intentions in the other side previously, brought about the interest to find out the relationship among the three variables concerned, by giving alternatives toward consumers satisfaction as the moderator variable.  The objective of the research is to examine the nature of the relationship between service  quality and consumers satisfaction in term of the purchase intentions. Based on the model proposed by  Taylor and Baker ( I 994), the relations.hip between service quality and purchase intentions was moderated by the consumers satisfaction giving more explanation on the purchase intentions variance better than each variable.The method of data collecting was done through questionares, which consist of 320 respondents at four service industries and using convenience sampling.  Those four service industries were  familiar for service  user. The result of the research showed that coefficient regression of the interaction for the two service industries was positif and signifficant (p £ O. 05),  whereas for the the other two was not signifficant.  The value of R2 for two service industries was increasing after the interaction of service quality and consumers satisfaction being participated in the model of moderator regression equality and the result supported the research hypotesis.  The research also showed that consumers satisfaction (moderator vari­ able) was able to moderate the relationship between service quality and consumers purchase intention.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis strategi membangun hubungan jangka panjang dari rasa percaya melalui komitmen serta pengaruhnya pada keunggulan bersaing. Obyek penelitian ini adalah para pemilik outlet yang menjual produk PT Mobile-8 Tbk di Semarang. Permasalahan penelitian merujuk pada fenomena bisnis PT Mobile-8 Tbk Semarang. Permasalahan yang adalah : Bagaimana membangun hubungan jangka panjang melalui rasa percaya dan komitmen pengaruhnya pada keunggulan bersaing? Tujuan umum penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis proses membangun hubungan jangka panjang dari rasa percaya melalui komitmen serta pengaruhnya pada keunggulan bersaingVariabel yang digunakan adalah komunikasi, reputasi, rasa percaya, komitmen, hubungan jangka panjang, keunggulan bersaing. Selain sebuah kerangka pemikiran teoritis, penelitian ini merumuskan enam hipotesis. Penelitian ini menggunakan 175 responden dari kurang lebih 1740 outlet aktif. Analisis data menggunakan Structural Equation Model (SEM) dengan program Amos 16.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi berpengaruh positip terhadap rasa percaya, reputasi berpengaruh positip terhadap rasa percaya, rasa percaya berpengaruh positip terhadap komitmen, komitmen berpengaruh positip terhadap hubungan jangka panjang, rasa percaya berpengaruh positip terhadap hubungan jangka panjang, hubungan jangka panjang berpengaruh positip terhadap keunggulan bersaing. Untuk meningkatkan keunggulan bersaing, hal yang perlu mendapat perhatian PT Mobile-8 Tbk Semarang adalah: frekuensi komunikasi, rasa percaya terhadap kewajiban yang dijanjikan perusahaan, keterbukaan perusahaan, reputasi yang baik, rasa percaya terhadap kewajiban yang dijanjikan perusahaan, keterbukaan perusahaan, kesetiaan penyalur pada perusahaan, fokus (kesamaan) tujuan jangka panjang.

Abstract

Fatwa MUI tentang bunga bank diprediksi oleh banyak kalangan dunia perbankan akan memperkeruh kondisi perbankan nasional yang baru bangkit setelah dihantam krisis ekonomi. Prediksi ini membuat para investor akan berpikir dua kali sebelum melakukan investasi pada saham-saham sektor perbankan. Penelitian ini memberikan gambaran aktual tentang reaksi investor pasar modal terhadap peristiwa munculnya fatwa MUI tentang bunga bank pada tanggal 16 Desember 2003 pada saham - saham sektor perbankan yang terdaftar pada LQ 45 Bursa Efek Jakarta. Pengujian dilakukan terhadap pengaruh  abnormal return saham. Analisis yang dipakai menggunakan event study dengan melihat 100 hari periode estimasi dan 21 hari periode peristiwa yang terdiri 1O hari sebelum munculnya fatwa,  1  hari saat kejadian dan 10 hari sesudah fatwa tersebut dikeluarkan. Dengan menggunakan a/at analisis Uji- t. Sampel yang digunakan  adalah saham perbankan yang termasuk dalam daftar indeks LQ 45 di Bursa Etek Jakarta. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukan bahwa fatwa MUI tentang bunga bank  tidak menimbulkan gejolak berarti bagi perdagangan saham perbankan di pasar modal.

The objective of this study is to determine the effects of organizational commitment, job satisfaction and ethical behavior to professional turnover intention in information system. This research is using survey method. Population in this research is all professional / worker of information system or laboring employees in the field of information system. Result of research is support that organizational commitment, job satisfaction and ethical behavior have the influence to profesional turnover intention in information system.

Abstract

Nowadays, women's involvement in the workforce are continues to increase. However, the number of womens participate in the upper management are still limited. Such condition might be caused by glass ceiling phenomenon – obstacles hindering women’s career advancement. This study presents antecedents of glass ceiling phenomenon both in profit and non-profit organizations. Extensive literature review were conducted to gain conclusion on factors hindering women’s career advancement. Managerial implication and opportunity for further research were discussed.

Abstract

In a global wortd, nations compete ta sustain and increase their standard of living. For this reason, competitiveness is key factor of nation  to compete among them. There are many factors to measure nation com­ petWveness: economic performance, government efficiency, business efficiency and infrastructure. Each factor can breakdowfl to many criteria. Another factor of level of country's competitiveness determinant is  value system .  As a Max Weber's study, economic development of nations were correlated with culture of their people. Consequently, nations do not compete with products and service alone, but also with education and value systems. In  Indonesian case, there are many problems with economic competitive­ ness.. Lack of macroeconomic policies, beareucratric regidity, bad governance management and bad corporate  governance management are the major problems to improve economic competitiveness. Democratisation process will be a bridge to achieve high nation competitiveness. Maybe.

The notion that exporting provides firms with both a growth opportunity and a major challenge has produced an extensive stream of studies. While a good number of empirical studies have concentrated on the exporting problems of firms in western and developed business societies, limited research has examined problems faced by Malaysian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This study attempts to address this issue. The findings of the study suggest that Malaysian SMEs faced exporting problems as espoused in the literature
