Abstract

Perceived External Prestige (PEP) is an individual's assessment of how their organization is viewed by outsiders. This study aims to validate the Perceived External Prestige (PEP) instrument as a measurement tool for employee perceptions of organizational reputation in the eyes of external parties. Validation was conducted using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) method on a sample of 251 private employees in Southwest Papua. The three-factor model of PEP tested includes Personality, Social Development, and Career Training. The analysis results show that the model has a good fit with the empirical data. A high Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) value of 0.963, and a significant Bartlett's test (p < 0.05) indicated that the data were suitable for further factor analysis. All items in the instrument had factor loadings above the 0.35 threshold, indicating good construct validity. These validation results confirm that the PEP instrument is effective and reliable for measuring employee perceptions of organizational reputation in the work environment. This research contributes to the development of a valid and reliable instrument to measure PEP in the context of organizations in Indonesia.

Abstract

Dropping out of school is a risky behavior that threatens an individual's psychological well-being. Those who drop out of school need social support to help them get back on their feet, overcome problems (resilience), and achieve psychological well-being. This study aims to determine the role of social support as a moderator in the influence of resilience on psychological well-being among school dropouts. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The study population consists of school dropouts currently enrolled in an equivalency education program at the Community Learning Center (PKBM) in Malang City. The sampling technique used multistage sampling, resulting in a sample size of 348 individuals. Data were collected using Ryff’s Psychological Well-being Scale (RPWBS), Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC), and Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS). Each scale of the three variables was analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) to determine validity and reliability. Data analysis in this study was conducted using structural equation modeling (SEM). The results of the structural model test indicated that the interaction between resilience and social support (moderating effect) significantly influenced psychological well-being, with a CR value of 3.244 (>1.96) and a p-value of 0.001 (p < 0.05). This means that out-of-school adolescents with high levels of resilience are more capable of improving their psychological well-being when they also receive strong social support.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of technology, globalization, and the ever-changing dynamics of the job market require education to adapt and prepare the younger generation to face future challenges. Preparing students for the future is a central issue in 21st-century education, emphasizing not only academic achievement but also critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, digital literacy, and character and leadership. However, various studies indicate that many students are not fully prepared for the real world after graduating from formal education. Mismatches between graduate competencies and workplace needs, poor problem-solving skills, limited technological skills, and a lack of awareness of social and environmental change are some indicators of students' low future preparedness. To successfully lead and manage learning in times of rapid change, leaders, educators, and students must think agilely—that is, be nimble, adaptive, flexible, and highly aware of their surroundings. One factor that can influence learning agility is community support. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of learning agility on the relationship between community support and student future preparedness. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey method. The subjects in this study were 234 students obtained using convenience sampling. Data collection was conducted using the Perceived Community Support Scale, the Learning Agility Scale, and the Student Future Readiness Scale. Data analysis was performed using the Jamovi program. The analysis results indicated a partial mediating effect of learning agility on the relationship between perceived community support and student future readiness.
