Abstract

This research examines the problem of the value of Jemblung Murtadho art.The research object is Jemblung’sart Sadat Kawedar Murthado in Tunjung village, Udanawu subdistrict, Blitar regency. The purpose of this researchare: (1) examine the meaning of art performing of Jemblung Murthado, (2) examine the art function of Jemblung inperformances. The research approach is using qualitative approach with ethnomusicology method. Data collectiontechniques is using: (1) recording techniques, audio and audiovisual, (2) note taking, (3) interviewing, (4) literaturestudy and documentation analysis. The steps in analyzing the data was done by: Data transcription, understandingdata, classification, and data condification. While for the validity of data, the researcher (1) doing triangulation, (2)doing peer debriefing, and (3) doing member check and audit trial.The research on music in Jemblung’s Murtadhowith ethnomusicology approach will be reviewed by the textual and contextual. The textual elements will expose theproblems concerning aspects of his music while contextual elements will explain about the culture of the community as asupporter of the arts.The results of this research on forms of art music Jemblung covered all of musikologic aspects,namely: (a) the concept of music in Jemblung’s, it has Java’s concept of Islamic art music, which is a form of praisesongs with the addition of story as a media in religious proselyzing, (b) the form of presentation is divided into twoelements among the elements of music and literature, and (c) The means of presentation which includes place, time,players, and costumes. The findings regarding the social function of Jemblung’s Murtadho include: (a) as aestheticsatisfaction,(b) as an entertainment,(c) as a means of communication, (d) as a strengthen compliance with social norms,(e) as a validation of social institutions, and religious rituals, (f) as a contribution to the sustainability and stability ofculture, (g) as an educational tool for the community, (h) as a community mental forming,(i) as a means of obtainingincome and (j) as a Host side traders to sell.

Abstract

Pangandaran regency is one of the regencies in West Java province which has a diversity of art and culturethat is continuously maintained its sustainability. One of the art traditions is Gondang Buhun. It is a traditional artthat is maintained by the local community hereditary and has noble values that can be used as a medium of educationcharacters for adolescents in Pangandaran Regency. This research uses qualitative method with case study approachwhich describes the process of art of Gondang Buhun tradition as a medium of adolescent education characters. Theresult of this research is Gondang Buhun art process as a media of educational characters; The supporting andinhibiting factors of Gondang Buhun tradition are as media of educational characters; and educational efforts ofadolescent characters through the art of Gondang Buhun tradition.

Abstract

The identity of Indonesian art is loaded with political contents in the interests of harmony. Indentity becomesthe differentiator and positioning in artwords. East Java gets the fortunes to be the locus of Majapahit and heritage ofthe Majapahit culture, but the atmosphere of contemporary art gives artists of freedom to explore the variety oftraditional cultures in various loci and make as identity. The sole recognition of a culture by a group community is nolonger relevant. The other way, it occurs the ability of artists to discover the characteristics of traditional cultures and topresent it typically as a differentiator with other artists.

Abstract

Pracy Art is a kind of painting using leaf lontar media which is painted with the sharp iron, the formercharcoal mixed with coconut oil slightlyy on its surface. Themes are revealed; Mahabrata, Ramayana, Sotasoma,Tantri, and other folklore. The existence of the palm leaf is important in the life of the people of Geriya, Talibeng,Sidemen, Karangasem. Because the art is part of the civilization of Ancient Bali. To understand more deeply aboutthis art of pracy it is necessary to approach with anthropology and Sociology. Both fields of science are related to humanlife in the activity of art. This Study the focuses on the discussion in "literature", collectors, and community observers ofpracy art. The purpose of the research is to know the existence of art pracy in the life of Geriya, Taliban, Karangasemsociety. The benefit of research is to know existence of pracy art at Bali ancient, and in global era. The research methoduses qualitative discriminative, ethnographic approach, data retrieval with observation, interview, and documentation.To solve the problem in the art of pracy use some big theories; ethnographic theory, social exchange, diffusion theory andother small theories. The Findings show that Pracy Art in the life of Geriya Taliban, Karangasem is as arepresentation of beliefs, beliefs and teachings of Hinduism.

Abstract

The Ciacia language is a regional language in Indonesia that has used Hangul Korean characters since2008. Before using Hangul script, Ciacia language used Wolio script (but later did not match) and then used Hangulscript. Therefore, in the Ciacia language, Hangul characters can be called contemporary charact ers. This paper aims tofind the right script for the language. The method of study is a comparison method. Comparative study of three letters:Wolio, Latin, and Hangul indicate that Latin characters can be used to write the Ciacia language.

Abstract

Ludruk Budi Wijaya Group is a cultural actor who is active in maintaining and developing the arts of thepeople. The characteristic of ludruk as a critical stage art is maintained, including the structure of the show. Ludruk isa channel for the aspirations of the little people and represents their lives. The "Susi Duyung" play performed byLudruk Budhi Wijaya is also related to the lives of the low society, the fishermen in Ngliyep Village who areoppressed economically by the authorities. The presence of Susi's character as a hero is a modeling that injustice must beresisted. Women should not be underestimated and should be given equal opportunities with men in the fight. Becauseof his firm and courageous attitude, with the public, Susi's character strugled persistently for social justice and erasedfor political corruption so that he is appointed leader.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country with various cultures. One of cultural product that interesting to be analysis is textile.Indonesian traditional textiles are made by weaving and batik techniques. Traditional textiles have a deepphilosophical meaning related to the human existence in the universe. Traditional textiles have various motifs. It isinteresting to analyze the meaning of the motifs of Indonesian traditional textile. The approaches of this research aretraditional Indonesian aesthetics and cultural approach. Traditional textile motifs can be categorized into geometrics,figurative, and naturalist motifs. The motifs are influenced by textile making techniques. For instance, weavingtechnique has limitation in motif type. Weaving technique produces geometrics motif. The other technique is batik thathas freedom to produce various motifs for textile. The original Indonesian textile motifs generally are abstract motives.Figurative and naturalist motifs emerge after the entrance of other culture influence. Based on visualization analysis,abstract motif has deep meaning related to people life philosophy. Some of figurative motifs have philosophical meaning,but naturalist motifs generally do not have philosophical meaning in Indonesian people.

Some ancient Sundanese texts that have been traced are Sewaka Darma (kropak 408) which contains theconcept of visual beauty (appearance) in various contexts ie place or environment in the form of a garden by making the composition or composition of various types of plants both flowering and which is not. The diversity of ornamental plants is characterized among others by the shape of the leaves, the shape and color of flowers, and the height of each plant. The beauty in a metaphysical context is also found in relation to death. Death is a perfect beauty. The image of beauty of the palace and the state of heaven or of the gods is depicted in the form of a palace construction which uses precious metals of gold, silver, as well as metals such as iron which are processed into beauty. Abstract

In Sundanese culture, local wisdom is the middle sineger (sineger tengah) or middle siger (siger tengah) a middleground that is moderate. The excavation of local Sundanese wisdom means finding a rational pattern or basicphilosophy that is suitable for living in this area. In other areas where the situation is similar it is possible to find abasic philosophy which is more or less the same. Foreign local wisdom which enters the local wisdom of Sundanese tendsto conform not the other way around. Times will always change but Sundanese become another Sundanese of its ownkinds. The outward form can change, but the structure and pattern of building the meaning of life tend to remain workgenetically unnoticed because since childhood has been investigated by the older generation in the same pattern. Therevitalization of Sundanese culture is necessary or not depending on its actuality to solve the present problems.
