Abstract

The music video for Man Upon The Hill by Stars and Rabbit can steal attention because it is able to present unique and interesting visuals. The purpose of this study was to determine the representation of the meaning of surrealism in the video clip Man Upon The Hill by Stars and rabbit. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. Data collection using the method of observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Informants were selected using purposive sampling technique. The technique of checking the validity of the research data used the source triangulation technique. The result of this research is the relationship between humans and nature, representations of several scenes: First, symbols such as the pentagram have the meaning of a dimension of life. Second, the Third Eye Chakra is the highest consciousness. Third, the arrangement of roots to form a gate represents a gate to a different dimension. Fourth, the tree root guitar represents how nature communicates, the melody that sounds from nature. Fifth, the arrangement of floating stones in a circle is the cycle of life. Sixth, black skin is a representation of the balance of the life cycle. Seventh, women with horses represent warriors, children represent purity.

Abstract

Communication transaction: basic elements and factors, so far as the communicator concerned all the Communications transactions are shaped by some important influence such as.The communicative purpose and knowledge of the subject.The purpose in communicating is to attain some goal and the effectiveness with which it is transmitted.Besides of knowledge of subject matter fundamental skills is important regardless of the situations in which a communication transaction occurs verbal or nonverbal communication symbol.The ability to use our voices and bodies to express ideas orally and visually facilitates the understanding and acceptance basic to successful functioning of communication process.

Abstract

Perkembangan perkotaan yang pesat dengan pembangunan fisik berupa gedung bertingkat baik berupa hotel, perkantoran maupun apartemen akhir-akhir ini berakibat juga terhadap perambatan gelombang radio diudara bebas .Media televisi terestrial tidak berbayar ( free to air ) yang menggunakangelombang radio jalur Ultra High Frequency (UHF), pada frekuensi sekitar 600 MHz dengan Sistem Penyiaran (Broadcasting) analog yaitu Phase Alternating Line (PAL), akan terasa dampaknya akibat gedung pencakar langit tadi, karena perambatan gelombang yang cenderung mendatar diatas permukaan bumi (Ground Wave). Secara otomatis di daerah-daerah perkotaan yang dikelilingi gedung bertingkat sulit mendapatkan tayangan secara langsung (direct broadcast) dari transmisi terrestrial free to airatau secara teknis dikenal dengan blank spot area.Kondisi tersebut memberikan kesempatan untuk televisi berbayar (Pay TV ) untuk memenangkan persaingan dalam menggaet penonton dengan melakukan penetrasi penjualan layanan pada daerah tersebut , baik untuk Pay TV berbasis satelit , cable maupun digital terrestrial.

Abstract

Every media has agenda that setting in the media content. Kompas and Media Indonesia are the major newspa-per in Indonesia, on Mei 2011 both media published several news about Osama Bin Laden Death. This reseach focusing how Osama Bin Laden Death news at Kompas and Media Indonesia on Mei 2011. Content analysis is the method to analysis content news in newspaper. Research method is kuantitative with content analysis :news frekuensy,pages, article colum, paragraf, informant, cover both side.

Abstract

This study aims to learn about the performance and the co-modification of children in Idola Cilik singing contest program on RCTI through text analysis, to determine the background of its production and capitalism whichchanges the value of effectiveness into exchange rate on RCTIs Idola Cilik program through social cognition analysis, and to find out the interpretation of the Chairman of the National Commission on Child Protection and communication experts on Idola Cilikl singing contest program through social context.This study uses qualitative research methods through Van Dijks critical discourse analysis, which includes analysis of the level of text, social cognition and social context.The results showed (1) Based on the analysis of the text, the performance and the co modification of children in the Idola Cilik is actually a result of television media industry as a business institution (RCTI). This has become a commodity, to be bought and sold, and controlled by market mechanisms, through a program rating, which ultimately is profit-oriented. (2) Based on the analysis of social cognition, RCTIs Idola Cilik programwas created due to the lack of special programs for children. Idola Cilik is a popular culture with instant characteristics and is market oriented. The practice of capitalism is seen in the television industry althoughRCTI as a capitalist is trying to show that exploitation does not happen, by creating a number of provisions, for the sake of achieving their interests, making it look as if it is not they who did the co modification of children. (3) Based on the social context, Idola Cilikl has generated positive interpretation, the program can become a means of developing talent and increasing the potential of the children according to children characteristics. There is also a negative interpretation that the program is a form of co modification of children, which leads toexploitation and making it potentially violates the rights of children

Abstract

The number of companies that manufacture and market products isotonic beverage, making competition between companies has become very tight. Of each company is trying to introduce a product. One is the product being advertised Fatigon Hydro + through the medium of television with a fairly high frequency of exposure on several TV stations. The aim is that the higher the brand awareness of the product Fatigon Hydro + in the community.
