Abstract

There were still many students who had low self-efficacy and locus of control. Students feel insecure so they tend to depend on students who are smarter. This study aims to analyze the effect of self-efficacy and locus of control on student achievement in twelve grade accounting class at senior high school. This research uses a quantitative approach with descriptive methods. The sampling technique in this study is simple random sampling. The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis by testing the hypothesis using the t test and f test. The results of the study show that: (1) There is a positive and significant influence between self-efficacy and student achievement as evidenced by the t-count 3,633 > t-table 2,00575 at the 5% significance level.; (2) There is a positive and significant influence between locus of control  with student achievement indicated by t-count 6,037 > 2,00575 at the 5% significance level.; (3) There is a positive and significant influence between self-efficacy, locus of control together with student achievement indicated by R Square 0.828 and f count of 139.923 > f table with (df: 2; 53) a significant level of 5% which is equal to 3.17. Based on the results of the analysis it can be concluded that the variables of self-efficacy and locus of control both affect learning achievement, where students who have self-efficacy and locus of control which is good then it will be able to improve learning achievement.

Abstract

Information technology (IT) is important to meet the needs of students with hearing disabilities in Indonesian special schools. The purpose of this study is to analyze the use and opinion of IT for communication and learning of students with hearing impairment in hearing impairment schools. IT in this study includes information devices such as mobile phones, smartphones, and tablets. This study used a stratified random sampling method to register the participants. Data were collected from 56 students with hearing loss using a self-administered questionnaire. The results found that most of these students knew about chat applications, for example, Whatsapp, Facebook, Instagram, and face-to-face conversation applications. Furthermore, most of these students contact people with hearing problems by sending messages via Facebook, Line apps, and face-to-face. The main reason why they use IT is for convenience and general conversation. A study of opinions on the use of IT by students with hearing impairment found that most of them agreed that IT devices contributed to their participation in various activities, including conversations with their relatives and friends on social networks.

Abstract

Education plays an important role in shaping the competence of the younger generation to face future challenges. The government implements the Merdeka Curriculum to improve the quality of Indonesian human resources globally. The aim of the Merdeka Curriculum is to expand the flexibility and adaptive capacity of teachers. There are obstacles in its implementation due to the limited resource capacity of public elementary schools. Some of the obstacles are teacher readiness, facilities, and curriculum evaluation. This research assesses the readiness of teachers to implement the Merdeka Curriculum at elementary school. Data collection was carried out using a purposive sampling technique through interviews with grade 1 and 4 teachers who understood the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum well. The results show that the learning process is coordinated and the teachers have prepared the design and learning media well. Supporting facilities such as teaching materials, learning videos, and school support smooth learning. However, an obstacle was found as an empirical finding that some teachers had difficulty adjusting students' skill levels considering the extent of the material and the implications of the pandemic. Several solutions to improve curriculum implementation include detailed material explanations, experience sharing, ongoing training, and regular evaluations.

Abstract

The development of increasingly advanced technology certainly also affects developments in the world of sports. The emergence of sports technology or better known as Esports is one of the most pronounced influences of technological developments in the world of sports today. In Indonesia, Esports has been recognized as one of the sports by inaugurating PBESI (Indonesian Esports Executive Board) in 2020. Even though a new sport has been inaugurated, there are still many problems related to this Esports. The problems faced include: there are still many questions about why Esports is included in sports, people's views on Esports, understanding what Esports is and how it differs from games, and about the impact of Esports. This study aims to get a deeper picture and information about this Esports sport, especially about the paradigms, limits, opportunities and challenges of Esports in Indonesia. This type of research is a qualitative study with an exploratory descriptive approach. This study used purposive sampling techniques. The participants involved were 12 people consisting of 3 West Sumatra ESI administrators, 2 Esports athletes, 1 sports lecturer, 2 game players, and 4 related community members (business people, parents, teachers and lecturers, health workers). The results of this study show that Esports is a technological sport. The lack of understanding about Esports makes a difference in views on Esports. Esports and games have certain restrictions, where Esports is indeed a game but not all games are included in Esports.

Abstract

Instilling concept of multiplication and division to students is influenced by learning media. But currently there are still many teachers who do not use good learning media. The research conducted aims to analyze how much influence P3M media has on students' understanding of the concept of multiplication and division. The method used in this study is a Quasi-Experimental method with the type used is Post-test Only Control Group Design. The sample in this study was 15 students as the control class and 15 students as the experimental class from fifth grade students. Because the data did not meet the normality test, the Mann-Whitney test was used and the results obtained were a significance value of 0.001 <0.05 or Ha was accepted. It can be said that there are differences in the application of P3M media to the concept of multiplication and division in the control class and the experimental class. So it is said that there is an effect of using P3M media on understanding the concept of multiplication and division of students. Nothing but learning using P3M learning media in understanding the concept of multiplication and division in students becomes more effective than learning without the application of media.

Abstract

The low student mathematics learning outcomes are caused by several factors such as students' anxiety, learning discipline, and learning motivation. The study was aimed to analyze the effect of students’ anxiety, learning discipline, and learning motivation towards students’ mathematic learning outcomes.  The research design was in the form of ex post-facto by involving 235 vocational high school students. They were selected by using proportional random sampling. The data were obtained by conducting test and non-test technique. The test was conducted to obtain the students’ learning outcomes meanwhile the questionnaire was distributed to the students to gather their anxiety, learning discipline, and learning motivation. The research instruments were test and questionnaire. The obtained data were analysed through structural equation modelling (SEM). The result showed that;  1) there  was a positive effect of learning discipline on students’ mathematic learning , 2) there was a negative effect of students’ anxiety on students’ learning discipline, 3) there  was a direct negative influence contributed by students’ anxiety towards students’ learning motivation, 4) there was a direct positive effect of students’ learning motivation on students’ learning discipline, 5) there was a direct positive effect of learning motivation towards students’ mathematic learning outcomes, 6) there was a direct negative effect of anxiety on students’ learning discipline, and 7) there was indirect positive effect of learning motivation on students’ mathematic learning outcomes through learning discipline.

Abstract

Implementation of physical education is allowed to modify instructional media. Physical education requires facilities and infrastructure specifically designed to promote physical activity. The aim of this research is to develop adjustments to basketball facilities and infrastructure for children aged 10-12 years through anthropometric comparisons. This research uses simple development research because it is still in the form of an initial design. The total research sample involved was 691 people. The sample underwent height, arm span, leg length, and finger span measurements. The results are that the comparison ratio of facilities and infrastructure for adults and children aged 10-12 years is the same as the anthropometric ratio of the study sample. Sports facilities and infrastructure adjustments are indispensable to the growth and development of children aged 10-12. By providing spaces where children can engage in physical activities tailored to their age and interests, we lay the foundation for healthy lifestyles, holistic skill development, cognitive growth, and emotional well-being.
