Abstract

ABSTRACT  This research with purpose to analyse the process of lesson study as a way to improve lecturers’ pedagogical competence is a descriptive qualitative research which conducted direct observation, interview, and documentation. From the result of interview, it was found that there are some problems faced by lecturer model in teaching writing 2 course, unconfident in teaching adult learners, lack of experience, monotone methods and media used, and inappropriate assessment techniques implemented. Moreover, lecturer observer gave some suggestions like choosing variation of methods in teaching based on the topic, the use of innovative media, and assessment techniques which emphasize more on the process. In the implementation stage, it was found that the lecturer model conducted the teaching and learning process based on what have been deal in previous stage with lecturer observer. But, there were still some limitation that should be improved like the use of technology and the ability to explain the material in lecturing section. As the next stage, reflection, FGD was conducted and got the result to revise the planning for the next teaching, like the use of schoology as additional media used to discuss the task given to students and the revision on delivering the material which should include question and answer activity with the students.Keywords : lesson study, pedagogical competenceABSTRAK Penelitian dengan tujuan menganalisis proses lesson study sebagai upaya membina para dosen muda untuk meningkatkan kualitas mengajar ini merupakan penelitian  deskriptif  kualitatif  dengan  melakukan pengamatan langsung atau observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Dari hasil wawancara serta dokumentasi yang dilakukan pada tahap perencanaan lesson study, ditemukan bahwa terdapat beberapa kendala yang dihadapi dosen model saat mengajar mata kuliah Writing 2, diantaranya tidak percaya diri mengajar mahasiswa, kurang pengalaman, penggunaan metode serta media yang monoton, serta teknik penilaian yang belum sesuai. Disamping itu, dosen pengamat/senior memiliki saran-saran perbaikan berupa pemilihan metode yang bervariasi sesuai topic, penggunaan media inovatif, serta penilaian yang berfokus pada penilaian proses. Pada tahap implementasi, ditemukan bahwa dosen model telah melaksanakan pembelajaran sesuai dengan rencana yang disepakati sebelumnya dengan dosen pengamat. Namun terkait pelaksanaannya dalam kelas, masih terdapat beberapa kelemahan yang harus diperbaiki, seperti penggunaan media dan teknologi pembelajaran, serta kemampuan memaparkan materi saat sesi ceramah. Sebagai tahapan berikutnya yakni tahapan refleksi, dilaksanakan FGD yang menghasilkan perbaikan untuk perencanaan serta implementasi tahap berikutnya, seperti penggunaan schoology sebagai media tambahan dalam membahas tugas yang diberikan pada mahasiswa serta penyesuaian cara memaparkan materi dengan menyelipkan tanya jawab sembari tetap menjelaskan materi.Kata Kunci : lesson study, kemampuan mengajar

Abstract

Balinese language as Balinese Lingua franca still has rules in speaking. There many Balinese words that are not familiar even neglected in this era, one of  those is verb. There are many verbs in Balinese, but researcher just wants to focus on one verb, that is ngetok seen from metalanguagenatural semantics. The verb ngetok has 32 similar meanings as follows; “ngebug, ngedig, nigtig, ngupek, magambel, mugpugin, mukpukin, ngukul, nungting, ngempug, nyakcak, noktok, ngeplokin, nebuk, ngaasin, nepung, ngintuk, ngalocok, namplak, nyemés, nempéléng, nyagur, nyepédin, nglamet, ngamplongin, ngamplengin, ngemplangin, nglentangin, ngaplekin, nyontok, nylimed and  mentil.” From the whole verb forms of “ngetok” there are differences of each form seen from the wat of hitting related to the device used to hit, subject and object being hit. Verb in Balinese has to different meanings, that can be explained by explication technique of X does something on Y, something good or bad happens on Y. The difference of meaning was gained from the analysis of original meaning with uncomposed polysemi.

Abstract

This descriptive qualitative research is aimed at analyzing the calligraphy participating inKhattil Quran Competition in the 26th MTQ in Buleleng Regency. The works were visually analyzedusing questioning approach which adapted Poster/visual analysis worksheet (Serianz, 2005) and TheNARA Photo Analysis Sheet, which contained 7 simplified main questions, comprising question about:1) dominant color, 2) use of symbols, 3) words that are presented visually; 4) the condition of the symbols( when they are needed); 5) message which are either explicitly stated or implied; 6) composition,dan 7) font variation. Content analysis was used to examine the style and composition of the calligraphy.The pattern of the calligraphy was analyzed by answering 6 questions that refer to letters variation,style of writing, accuracy of the contents (which was citation from the Quran), the rules of language usethat are applicable for the work of calligraphy.The results of the analysis indicate that most of the decorative calligraphy did not meet the criteriafor a competition. Seven out of nine decorative calligraphy (each of which representing the ninedistricts in the region) did not show the basic requirement as a calligraphy work of art. There werea number of writing style which neither visually representative nor accurate. Mistakes are consideredserious since the materials for creating the calligraphy were provided by the committee including theguidelines. Another mistake is the layout of the content (how to locate the verse, the choice of the fontstyle, and the reading direction) which was considered as the second type mistake which was to do withexperience with visual art management. This problem was to be followed up by the researcher team asa prospective area for community service program in the future.Key words: khattil quran, MTQ, calligraphy, analysis, mistakes, layout

Abstract

Sangut and Delem who are two servant figures in the Balinese shadow puppets grip are adopted asan editorial cartoon of Bali Post newspaper. The concept of plot and character to the traditional characterizationsturns into a special appeal when they are interpreted as editorial cartoons. So that the election of theircharacters as the main characters is very interesting to study the importance of considering the editorial role inbuilding the image of a newspaper. Furthermore the election of their characters as the main characters is veryinteresting to study given the mission to preserve traditional cultural symbols to reinforce the character of theyoung generation which is an important agenda.This study used a questionnaire instrument to collect data and are presented in the form of descriptiveanalysis through simple charts and tables. From the results of the analysis it is showed that puppet characters Sangut and Delem remains relevant and are used as an editorial cartoon today.Keywords: character, cartoon editorial, punakawan Sangut Delem

Abstract

The aims of this research is to describe thesis, antithesis, and the existence synthesis Kembar Buncingin Incest novel by I Wayan artika. The design of this research is qualitative descriptive by usingstructural approach. This research use Hegel Dialectical Theory. The result of this research show thatthesis, antithesis, and synthesis caused by the differences of customs development in Jelungkap Village.The other researchers should observe this novel from the other aspects, such as feminist actorsby using feminism theory.Key words: thesis, antithesis, synthesis, kembar buncing, incest.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Japan has a lot of loanwords, not only from China but also from English or other countries to enrich their language. The word harassment compounded with other words or phrases form new meaning refers to the feeling of uncomfortable or unconvenient of something. The word harassment coumpounded in Japanese seems to have trivilisation in meaning, this phenomenon related to high sensitivity and strict value in Japanese society.Keyword: loanword, Japanese, harassment

Abstract

One of the oral folklores in the form of story which have developed in the community of Samawa ethnic group is the legend of Tanjung Menangis [the Crying Peninsula]. As a folklore, the legend is thought as containing and expressing pragmatic values. The current study aimed at describing: 1) pragmatic values contained in the legend of Tanjung Menangis; 2) reception of Samawa ethnic community towards the values contained in the legend of Tanjung Menangis; 3) relevance of the pragmatic values in the legend of Tanjung Menangis to the content of literature learning at Senior High School. The study was an ethnographic study which was descriptive in nature. The data were collected by using interview, observation, and documents study, and analyzed descriptive-qualitatively through such steps as data transciption, data identification, data reduction, data interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The data analysis and discussion resulted in three points of conclusion, i.e.: (1) the legend of Tanjung Menangis contains pragmatic values: faith, moral and ethics, social and culture, goodness, smartness and logic; (2) Samawa ethnic community has varied opinions towards the existence of the legend of Tanjung Menangis and pragmatic values contained in the legend; (3) the pragmatic values contained in the legend of Tanjung Menangis has relevance to the content of literature learning at Senior High School, especially old prose literature.Key words: legend, community reception, pragmatic value, literature learning materials

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan materi pembelajaran yang menyatu-padukan membaca dan menulis yang berbasis ICT untuk siswa kelas 7 di SMP N 4 Baturiti. Penelitian ini dirancang berdasarkan pada rancangan penelitian pengembangan yang dikemukakan oleh Dick, Carey dan Carey di tahun 2005. Model penelitian ini terdiri atas tiga langkah utama yaitu; analisa keperluan, pengembangan produk, dan evaluasi produk. Analisa keperluan diadakan dalam rangka memperoleh informasi tentang apa yang diperlukan dan sifat khas siswa, infrastruktur sekolah, dan topik yang harus muncul di dalam produk. Pada langkah pengembangan produk, materi dikumpulkan dan kemudian dikembangkan dengan menggunakan dua program bernama Hot Potatoes dan Macromedia Dreamweaver. Pada langkah evaluasi produk, diadakan penilaian ahli dan pengujian lapangan (field try-out) terhadap produk tersebut. Untuk keperluan langkah penilaian dari ahli, penelitian melibatkan dua ahli yang masing - masing memiliki keahlian dalam bidang berbeda yaitu; isi/kurikulum dan ICT. Hasil penilaian ahli menunjukkan kualitas materi yang dikembangkan sangat baik dengan nilai 3,88 dalam skala 0.1 – 4.0. Selain itu, pengujian lapangan terhadap produk juga diadakan untuk menguji apakah materi yang dikembangkan tersebut bisa dipakai dengan baik untuk mengajar keterampilan membaca dan menulis. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa materi tersebut dapat dipergunakan dimana ini bisa dilihat dari tanggapan positif yang diberikan siswa sebanyak 86%. Kata kunci: Hot Potatoes, macromedia dreamweaver, menyatu-padukan kemampuan membaca dan menulis, pengembangan materi.

Abstract

The study aimed at designing and developing an instructional media based on interactive multimedia on the topic of motion graphic on the subject of “Animation 1” as well as finding out the students’ responses towards the instructional media. This study utilized a research and development design based on CIIP method (Context, Input, Process and Product). The data were obtained by distributing questionnaires in product testing by media experts, content experts, individuals, small groups, and field trial. The data were analyzed descriptive quantitatively in order to obtain score data. This instructional media consists of three main dimensions, like introduction, main, and exit. The percentage score of media experts’ trial was about 87.50% and qualified as “Good”. The percentage score of content experts’ trial was about 80% and qualified as “Good”. The percentage score of individuals’ trial was about 77.67% and qualified as “Adequate”. The percentage score of small groups’ trial was about 81.80% and qualified as “Good”. The percentage score of field trial was about 80.97% and qualified as “Good”. The percentage score of students’ response through questionnaire was about 83.84% and qualified as “Good”. Finally, this instructional media would be used to teach “Animation 1” course in 2017. Key words: Interactive Multimedia, Animation, Undiksha   ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis multimedia interaktif pada mata kuliah Animasi 1 bahasan motion graphic, serta mengetahui respon mahasiswa terhadap penerapan media pembelajaran. Metode menggunakan penelitian pengembangan yang pelaksanaannya dengan metode CIPP (Context, Input, Process and Product). Pengumpulan data memberikan angket dalam pengujian produk oleh ahli media, ahli isi, perorangan, kelompok terbatas/kecil, dan uji coba lapangan. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dalam bentuk skor. Media pembelajaran terdiri dari tiga tampilan utama, yaitu tampilan intro, tampilan main, dan tampilan exit. Penilaian persentase tingkat pencapaian dari uji coba ahli media berjumlah 87,50% berada pada kualifikasi baik. Penilaian persentase dari uji coba ahli isi berjumlah 80% berada pada kualifikasi baik. Penilaian persentase dari uji coba perorangan berjumlah 77,67% berada pada kualifikasi cukup. Penilaian persentase dari uji kelompok kecil berjumlah 81,80% berada pada kualifikasi baik. Penilaian persentase dari uji lapangan berjumlah 80,97% berada pada kualifikasi baik. Penilaian persentase dari angket respon mahasiswa berjumlah 83,84% berada pada kualifikasi baik. Media  pembelajaran  ini akhirnya diteruskan untuk mata kuliah Animasi 1 di tahun 2017. Kata kunci: Multimedia Interaktif, Animasi, Undiksha

Abstract

The main objective of this research is to describe the achievement of the Indonesian LanguageEducation students after using the experimental learning method in writing argumentative paragraphand also to find out the obstacles faced when using that learning method. The subject of this study werethe students of Indonesian Language Education Department. The data of this study were collected byusing two methods, they were assignment method and interview. The data collected were analyzed by usingdescriptive qualitative research design. Besides, the aims of this study are that; first, to improve thelearning quality in writing argumentative paragraph. Second, this study is in order to keep the existenceof experimental learning method, and the last one is to persuade and motivate the students to be morecreative and innovative. The result of this study indicated that the achievement of Indonesian LanguageEducation students when using this method was categorized in the highest level that was 90.56 points.And the obstacles found by the Indonesian Language Education students in using this experimentallearning method related with their creativity in writing argumentative paragraph are that; first, theyhave limited information about how to organize the sentences well; second, it is hard for them to find thekey words when they start to make a sentence; and the last one is that not all of them are able to use thespelling order perfectly.Keywords: Experimental Learning Method, writing creativity, argumentative paragraph
