Abstract

The increasing population in Indonesia is directly proportional to the growth of new settlements. In line with this, the growth of waste volume in Indonesia is closely related to the growth of its population. The level of welfare and lifestyle in Indonesia has resulted in a significant increase in waste generation, especially in urban areas. Jatihandap is one of the areas in Mandalajati Subdistrict, Bandung City that increases the influence of waste generation by each people and wants to improve the quality of its waste services to reduce these impacts. One way that can be done to measure the willingness of citizens to improve waste services is to measure the Contingent Valuation Method. Contingent Valuation Method (CVM) Based on the results of this study, WTP values were 138 people from 153 samples selected. The estimated WTP (EWTP) is Rp. 12,971 and the total WTP (TWTP) is Rp. 80,385,000 / month. Based on multiple linear regression analysis, the WTP value of Jatihandap Urban Village is influenced by the amount of garbage contributions and gender equality from the results of the questionnaire that has been done.

Abstract

A combustion process in power plants, industry and transportation can cause air pollution problems, one of which is the pollutant of Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) gas. One of the stages of air quality management is monitoring. In monitoring air quality, there are several factors that need to be considered because they can affect the measurement, there are meteorological factors. This study analyzes how temperature, humidity, rainfall and wind speed affect the measured NO2 concentration. NO2 and meteorological concentration data were taken at the same time at the location of the DKI-1 air quality monitoring station (Bundaran Hotel Indonesia, DKI Jakarta). Analysis of the relationship between measured NO2 concentrations with temperature, humidity, rainfall and wind speed was performed using multiple linear regression analysis. The analysis showed that there was a strong relationship between NO2 concentration and four meteorological factors. The R2 value indicates the effect of the four meteorological factors on NO2 concentrations is 38.3% and the remaining 61.7% is influenced by other factors not included in the measurements in this study.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the work safety climate in the production section of the X Company, crumb rubber industry in Padang City. Respondents were workers in the production section which consists of managerial, wet and dry production. The workers were interviewing and filling in the questionnaire namely a questionnaire with the Nordic Occupational Safety Climate Questionnaire (NOSACQ-50) method. The NOSACQ-50 method consists of 7 dimensions, Research shows that the value of work safety climate in 7 dimensions are 3.31; 3.30; 3.17; 3.28; 2.98; 3.33 and 3.21 and has an average value of 3.23 which is a very good category on a scale of 3-4. There is one dimension, namely the fifth dimension which is still in the good category of 2.98. The characteristics of respondents include age groups, years of service, education, job titles and work sections. Each group of respondents' characteristics was proven to have an influence on work safety climate where there were significant differences in perceptions between groups. The solutions for improvement based on safety climate measurement are to increase knowledge about work safety, takes strict action to implement the use of PPE in the production area, and make periodic checks on all production equipment.

Abstract

Colonial architecture is an architectural style from a mixture of European architecture and through a process of adaptation to form Dutch architecture during the Indonesian era during the Dutch colonialism. This colonial architecture adapted to the local environment and climate in order to produce buildings that were suitable and comfortable to live in. The research object is the residential house in Banda Sakti District, Lhokseumawe City. This area is a place where there are historical buildings identified as the Dutch Colonial Heritage Area. The aim of this research is to identify the existence of houses in Banda Sakti District, Lhokseumawe City through the building facades which still have the characteristics of Dutch colonial architecture. This research method is a qualitative research method through direct observation at the research location and interviews of home owners. The research focuses on the elements of the outdoor facade that are related to the exterior of the building. The identification resulted that eight residential houses in Banda Sakti District still used the architectural features of the colonial building façade, but 2 of them had adapted to the times.

Abstract

All living things need water, because water is the most important essential material for life. One of the substances in water is iron (Fe). According to Permenkes RI number 492 / MENKES / PER / VI / 2010 levels of iron (Fe) allowed in drinking water is 0.3 mg/L. This study aimed to determine the amount of Fe metal content in PDAM water in Pidie Jaya Regency (Mon Krueng Meureudu PDAM, Panteraja PDAM, and Ulim PDAM) using the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (SSA) method with wet destruction. The results of the analysis of iron content in PDAM water in Pidie Jaya Regency are PDAM Ulim 0.0628 µg/L, Panteraja PDAM 0.1068 µg/L, and Meureudu PDAM 0.0055 µg/L. In other words, PDAM water in Pidie Jaya Regency is still at the specified level. It is expected that PDAM Pidie Jaya will continue to maintain the quality of iron (Fe) levels so as not to exceed the maximum levels that have been set.

Abstract

Vegetables that do not sell and rotten will be thrown away. This makes the volume of waste increases every day. Vegetable waste that is no longer being sold, could reprocessed into useful products and selling value. The purpose of this research is to use vegetable waste to become bioethanol raw material, which have economic value. The selected vegetable waste was from potatoes, carrots, cabbage, cassava, chicory, and green mustard, because they have higher carbohydrate content than other vegetable waste. The bioethanol product produced will be measured by its bioethanol content and fermentation time. These two factors, affect the quality of the bioethanol produced. The microorganism used in this study was Saccharomyces cerevisiae. These microorganisms are in bread yeast and tape yeast, which are also examined for their effectiveness in the production of this vegetable waste bioethanol. From this study, producing bioethanol with the highest ethanol content of 15% v / v, produced in the interaction of bread yeast and 6 days’ fermentation time. Meanwhile, from the production using yeast tape, obtained ethanol levels of 13% v / v. Bioethanol from vegetable waste is not only to reduce the burden of waste generation, but can be used as an alternative energy to replace fuel.

Abstract

The use of waste oil that can cause health problems. The disturbance is caused by the high peroxide number triggered by oxidation and hydrolysis of oil in the presence of free fatty acids and high water content. Reuse of waste oil can be done with several alternatives such as the addition of natural antioxidants or synthesis. This study aimed to determine the effect of soaking wet and dry chocolate fruit on the quality of waste oil. The parameters seen are water content, acid numbers, peroxide numbers and free fatty acid levels. The moisture content was determined by the oven drying method, acid numbers and free fatty acid levels by the alkalimetry titration method, and peroxide number by the iodometry method. The results showed that the waste oil soaked on the exocarp of dried cacao is more optimal in reducing the peroxide number by 38.71%, while soaking with wet exocarp is only 12.14%. Moisture content increased by 0.08% on soaking with the exocarp of dried cacao, whereas wet exsocarp is 1.63%. Acid number increased 17.42% in soaking with the exocarp of dried cacao, whereas wet exocarp is 36%. Free fatty acid levels increased 0.64% in dumping with dried exocarp, while soaking with the exocarp of wet cacao increased by 0.82%.

Abstract

TPA Gampong Jawa, Banda Aceh City with ± 21 ha of land area, has implemented a sanitary landfill operation system. Leachate has the potential to have a negative impact on the quality of well water around the landfill. The purpose of this study is to predict the operational life of TPA Gampong Jawa through waste reduction efforts, knowing what units must be considered in the landfill closure, knowing the effect of leachate  on well water quality and knowing the potential use of former landfill in the future. The analysis was carried out by linking the existing conditions in accordance with Permen PU No.3 / PRT / M / 2013, while the Pollution Index (IP) value was analyzed based on KepmenLH No.115 of 2003 by taking a sampling of 4 wells with varying distances. The operational life of TPA Gampong Jawa with the effort to reduce waste by 12% can be extended to 2026 in April 30th day with a volume of 1,603,481 m3. The IP value for Gampong Jawa 1 TPA well is 5.25 and the Java Gampong TPA 2 well is both 5.39 are included in the category of medium polluted, for well water 1 resident's house has an IP value of 4.39 and well 2 resident's wells have IP value amounted to 3.43, both of which are included in the category of mild pollution.

Abstract

Currently, technological development is very much needed as information systems are increasingly stringent and require the readiness of an organization. Government agencies very much manage and serve the community so that the role of government is very influential to serve the community for example for the management of correspondence. The use of the existing mail information system does not meet the standards of technological development, because the existing data processing system is still done manually using Microsoft Word. The problem that is often faced when making a letter by hand is that people who make a letter have to wait a long time, because officers must input data manually. The purpose of this research is to create a system to serve the public in making letters, so that officers can provide services quickly and accurately. The results of this study are the information system that was designed to be able to provide convenience and update the administration of the letter agenda that previously was still using the manual method.

Abstract

Salib Kasih is located in the pine forest area has been made an icon of the city of Tarutung as a religious tourism destinations that visited by many tourists. Geographically, this area has a landscape with a distinctive panorama of fresh pine forests and agricultural cultivation land. The area has great potential in sustainable agro-tourism management and can increase Local Government Revenue (PAD). However although, this potential has not been exploited as one of the agro tourism management models that is integrated with the religious history destination of the Salib Kasih. This study aimed to develop an agritourist management model by analyzing the needs of facilities and infrastructure that are integrated with religious tourism in Salib Kasih area’s. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it can be concluded there are some alternative agrotourism management models which integrated the religious tourism of Salib Kasih area’s by paying attention to the local wisdom, cultivation product, cattle farm, and bee keeping.
