Abstract

Dependence on the provision of electricity using fossil fuels is a major energy supply problem in Indonesia. Therefore, it is necessary to provide new and renewable alternative fuels that are effective, efficient, and environmentally friendly. One of the alternative fuels is bagasse biomass. The purpose of this study was to determine the amount of bagasse produced by sellers of sugarcane juice drink in Pontianak City, in order to determine the estimated value of bagasse. The research method used was direct data collection and laboratory testing . Based on the results of the study, the number of vendors of sugarcane juice beverages producing bagasse was 169. Of this amount, produce bagasse that can reach 1,030.9 kg/day. Based on the test results, the estimated moisture content of bagasse was 3.28%, ash content was 0.77%, and carbon remained at 7.65%. So, if converted with the test results of the calorific value of bagasse and made into briquettes bagasse (bio briquettes), which is 19,648 kJ/kg with a density of 0.416 kg/m3, then converted into a potential calorific value of 242,849,280 J/year.

Abstract

Transportation is a sector that contributes significantly to CO2 gas emissions and has the potential to continue to increase along with the addition of fossil fuel vehicles. Indonesia has plans to switch to electric vehicles as an alternative to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the transportation sector. The battery is an important component of an electric vehicle, and there are several alternative technologies that can be used. This paper  simulates the selection of a suitable battery from various type of batteries, including Lead-acid (PbA), Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) and Lithium-ion (Li-ion). The selection is made using the weighted objective method by presenting 5 criteria: energy density; emissions generated for battery production; energy factor of the manufacturing process; availability of critical raw materials required for cathodes and anodes; and availability of recycling facilities. Supporting data to determine the magnitude of each criterion is obtained from literature reviews. The analysis and comparison was carried out by giving weight to the assessment based on the data obtained. The results of calculations carried out in the paper show that the Lead-acid battery is a viable option for use at current time.However, if Indonesia already has NiMH and Li-ion battery recycling facilities, or is capable of producing Lithium-ion batteries, then the criteria and calculation factors can be added and improved.

Abstract

Cibaligo River is the polluted rivers in Cimahi City. The river that flows through three districts and 6 sub-districts in Cimahi City catchment  area of 666.19 hectares of watershed with a total length of 7 km. The land use of the district through which this river passes is domestic, trade, agriculture, livestock and industry whose waste will end into the Cibaligo River. The impact of these activities causes the river to be polluted and a decrease in water quality. The purpose of this study was to determine the status of water quality from upstream to downstream which represents the transition, dry, and rainy seasons. Knowledge of water quality status can be used as basic data for controlling water pollution in rivers. The pollutant index (IP) method used in this study is in accordance with the Decree of the State Minister for the Environment Number 115 of 2003 concerning guidelines for determining water quality status. The results showed that the water quality status of the Cibaligo River from upstream to downstream represented that each season was categorized as heavily polluted with the highest index value being in the rainy season at the downstream point. The main contributor that causes river water to be heavily polluted is domestic wastewater, especially the presence of total coliform and fecal coliform that exceed the established quality standards. Based on the results of the research, efforts to tackle domestic waste are needed to improve the quality of this river water.

Abstract

Banda Aceh City is one of the dengue-endemic area. During a  10 year  period (2010 - 2019), the total number of cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in Banda Aceh City  was 3,168 cases with a total of 16 deaths. Thus, it is necessary to map the vulnerability of dengue in Banda Aceh City. The purpose of this study was to map the distribution of dengue-prone areas in the city of Banda Aceh. The parameters used in the study were rainfall, air temperature, humidity, and population density. This parameter is used because it is considered to have a close relationship  to habitat for the development of the Aedes aegypti mosquito. Secondary data were collected  from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the Regional Development Planning Agency (Bappeda), the Marine and Fisheries Agricultural Food Service (DPPKP), and the Banda Aceh City Health Office from 2010 - 2019 shows that dengue cases correlate with rainfall of 25.07%. DHF cases correlate  to humidity, which is 42.06%. Meanwhile, the correlation between temperature and DHF cases was -47.26%. The results of the spatial analysis of DHF vulnerability show that  dengue is highly vulnerable   in Jaya Baru District, Baiturrahman District, Kuta Alam District, and Syiah Kuala District

Abstract

Many things must be considered in a production system in the industrial world, such as the performance of a machine or tool used. Productivity is closely related to smooth production. The low productivity of the machine will cause losses for the company, where this loss is caused by the use of ineffective and inefficientmachines. This study aims to determine the performance of the machine and the factors that cause damage to the press machine at PT Ciptaunggul Karya Abadi. The research was conducted using the application of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) to increase productivity and maximize facilities. TPM is also accompanied by the OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) method to measure the performance and accuracy of the machine used. This data is in the form of quantitative which is calculated using the methods mentioned above. The results showed that the average value of the availability rate was 95%, the performance rate was 87% and the quality rate was 99%. From these results, it can be seen that only the performance rate does not meet world-class standards. This is also obtained from the calculation of the six big losses, the largest percentage is in idle and minor stoppage losses, which is 47%. Alternative repair solutions can be carried out by implementing machine maintenance and continuous improvement,providing special training for operators, and reducing non-productive time.

Abstract

Penelitian in bertu­juan untuk menganalisis faktor penyebab terjadinya masalah bottleneck dengan penerapan metode Theory of Constraint (TOC) dan melakukan perbaikan keseimbangan lintasan menggunakan metode Moodie Young dalam proses produksi steel door di PT. Anugrah Damai Mandiri. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode wawancara dan diperoleh dari dokumen perusahaan berupa data alur proses produksi, kapasitas harian, rating factor, allowance, waktu elemen kerja, data waktu perpindahan, jumlah pekerja, waktu kerja karyawan, dan waktu istirahat karyawan. Hasil analisis menggunakan Theory Of Consraint (TOC) menunjukkan terdapat kendala pada mesin yaitu CNC bending pada stasiun kerja bending dan dari segi sistem manajemen operasional terdapat kendala. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan tidak terdapat Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) yang diterapkan perusahaan. Terdapat 2 workstation yang mengalami bottleneck  adalah di workstation bending dan painting. Diperoleh nilai balance delay sebesar 44,26% dan nilai efisiensi pada proses produksi steel door sebesar 55,73%. Dengan melakukan pengurangan jumlah work center dari 7 menjadi 6 work center dan adanya pemindahan elemen kerja 2 ke work center 1 serta nilai smoothing index sebesar 55,45.

Abstract

Salah satu peran  penting dalam keberhasilan suatu perusahan yaitu pemeliharaan. Masalah pemeliharaan mesin (maintenance) dan dalam meningkatkan produktivitas serta mempertahankan mutu menjadi faktor pernting yang harus diperhatikan dalam fasilitas produksi. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)  pada mesin injection 2500T New menggunakan metode Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)  di  PT. XYZ. Penggunaan metode Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) dalam TPM yang mencakup tiga faktor yaitu availability rate, performance rate dan quality rate yang memiliki fungsi tentang kondisi lini yang dapat dilihat secara keseluruhan dan efektivitas. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan terdapat 2 proses pemeliharaan (Maintenance) di PT. XYZ yaitu Pemeliharaan pencegahan (preventive maintenance) dan Pemeliharaan tidak terencana (Unplanned Maintenance). Sedangkan hasil perhitungan yang didapatkan nilai rasio availability rate dan performance rate periode 2-25 February 2022 berada dibawah standar global yaitu sebesar 39% dan 68%. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka dilakukan analisis penyebab rendahnya nilai rasio availability rate dan performance rate menggunakan fishbone diagram atau diagram sebab akibat. Dari hasil perhitungan nilai Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) yang merupakan salah satu pengukuran tingkat efektifitas, didapatkan hasil bahwa tingkat keefektifan mesin injection 2500T New pada pembuatan spare part otomotif periode 2-25 February 2022 sebesar 28% dan dibawah standar yang ditentukan yaitu sebesar  85%. Adapun usulan yang dapat diberikan bagi PT. XYZ yaitu memperbaharui Standard Operasional Procedure yang sudah dibuat dan diterapkan, melakukan peningkatan dan penerapan metode Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) pada proses produksi, melakukan peningkatan ketersediaan (Availability) dan kemampuan (Performance) mesin injection 2500T New. Sehingga, nilai pada kedua rasio efektifitas mesin injection dapat meningkat.

Abstract

PT XYZ is a local company that produces Joint Brake Rod KTMY parts whose demand varies every month. The production planning used by the company is often not by the demand so there is an excess of product stock that can trigger losses for the company. This study aims to determine the optimal step in planning the production of Joint Brake Rod KTMY parts in 2022 by comparing the value of the error accuracy rate of the two forecasting methods is exponential smoothing with 0,2; 0,5; 0,9 α value and the linear regression method. Furthermore, the calculation of the error accuracy value with Mean Absolute Deviation (MAD), Mean Squared Error (MSE) and Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) to determine the best forecasting. This resulting study indicates that linear regression is the method with the smallest accuracy, with 341.278 MAD; 185,084 MSE; and 0.11 MAPE. So, in planning production for Joint Brake Rod KTMY parts during the future period, PT. XYZ can use linear regression.

Abstract

Perintis Kemerdekaan road is a connecting road for people who will use the Bridge of Kapuas and  Landak. The government has realized the addition of a new bridge construction as a duplicate which is located right next to the Landak Bridge. The Landak II Bridge was completed in April 2019 and has been operating in August 2019. People still cannot feel comfortable in using traffic. The construction of the Landak II parallel bridge has not solved the problem of increasing the volume of vehicles in Pontianak. Because of these transportation problems, the researchers tried to analyze the performance of the Perintis Kemerdekaan road. The purposes of this researches are (1) to determine the changes in the performance of the road section used for traffic flow on the Perintis Kemerdekaan road in 2022 after the operation of the Landak II Bridge. (2) Provide an overview of the recommendations for handling impacts that are carried out to overcome road performance problems. The research method used is descriptive and quantitative methods. The results showed that the level of service for the Perintis Kemerdekaan road after the Landak II bridge was built was at level E where the current was unstable and the speed sometimes stopped.

Abstract

CV. Lancar Jaya is one of the industries engaged in repair service workshops and the manufacture of new spare parts that have been established since 2013. CV. Lancar Jaya in making new spare parts starting from the process of purchasing raw materials to the finishing process. During the manufacturing process, there is still a potential danger of work accidents. One of the factors for the emergence of potential occupational accident hazards is the presence of operators who do not use PPE completely. This study aims to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and control them using the HIRARC method. HIRARC is a semi-quantitative method of analysis that gives priority to more detail because it divides risks into parts in order to identify all the hazards inherent in the work process. The results of research on the work area of spare part production in CV. Lancar Jaya identified 10 potential hazards and classified them into 1 potential low risk hazard, 4 potential moderate risk hazards, 2 potential high risk hazards and 3 potential extrem risk hazards.
