Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this research is to know whether there is a significant effect of EGRA method in teaching passive voice at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 2 Siabu. This research uses experimental method with the experimental research design; one group pre-test and post-test design. The population is all of the eleventh grade students which consist of 92 students. Technique sampling that used on this research is systematic sampling and the number of the sample consists of 30 students. In collecting the data, the researcher uses observation sheet to get the data of the application of EGRA method and test to get the data is multiple choices. The researcher uses statistic process in analyzing by using t test formula. Based on the data that has been analyzed, the result of analyzed data showed that t test is higher than t table (t test 4.79 > t table 2.04), and the hypothesis is accepted. It means that there is a significant effect of using EGRA (exposure, generalization, reinforcement, application) method in teaching passive voice at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 2 Siabu. Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada sebuah pengaruh yang signifikan dari EGRA method dalam mengajarkan passive voice di kelas sebelas SMA Negeri 2 Siabu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan rancangan penelitian experimental; one group pre-test post-test design. Populasi penelitian terdiri dari 92 siswa kelas sebelas. Teknik penarikan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penarikan sampel sistematis dan jumlah sample terdiri dari 30 siswa. Dalam pengumpulan data, peneliti menggunakan lembar observasi untuk menjaring data dari pengaplikasian EGRA method dan tes untuk menjaring data mengenai passive voice adalah pilihan ganda. Peneliti menggunakan proses statistik dalam analisis data, yaitu rumus tes t. Berdasarkan data yang telah di analisis, hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa t hitung lebih besar dari pada t table (t hitung 4.79 > t table 2.04), dan, hipotesis diterima. Hal ini berarti ada sebuah pengaruh yang signifikan dari EGRA method terhadap pengajaran passive voice di kelas sebelas SMA Negeri 2 Siabu. Kata kunci: metode EGRA, passive voice.

Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this research is to know whether there is a significant effect of story mapping strategy on students’ writing narrative text achievement at the tenth grade students of MAN Panyabungan. This research uses experimental method with the experimental research design; one group pre-test and post-test design. The population is all of the tenth grade students which consist of 264 students. Technique sampling that used on this research is purposive sampling and the number of the sample consists of 38 students. In collecting the data, the researcher uses observation sheet to get the data of the application of story mapping strategy and test to get the data of the students’ writing narrative text achievement. The researcher uses statistic process in analyzing by using t test formula. Based on the data that has been analyzed, the result of analyzed data showed that t count is higher than t table (t count 13.37 > t table 2.03), and the hypothesis is accepted. It means that there is a significant effect of story mapping strategy on students’ writing narrative text achievement at the tenth grade students of MAN Panyabungan. Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada sebuah pengaruh yang signifikan dari strategi story mapping terhadap pencapaian siswa dalam menulis teks naratif di kelas sepuluh MAN Panyabunagn. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan rancangan penelitian experimental; one group pre-test post-test design. Populasi penelitian terdiri dari 264 siswa kelas sepuluh. Teknik penarikan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penarikan sampel sistematis sederhana dan jumlah sample terdiri dari 38 siswa. Dalam pengumpulan data, peneliti menggunakan lembar observasi untuk menjaring data dari pengaplikasian strategi story mapping dan tes untuk menjaring data mengenai pencapaian siswa dalam menulis teks naratif. Peneliti menggunakan proses statistic dalam analisis data, yaitu rumus tes t. Berdasarkan data yang telah di analisis, hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa t hitung lebih besar dari pada t table (t hitung 13.37 > t table 2.03), dan, hipotesis diterima. Hal ini berarti ada sebuah pengaruh yang signifikan dari strategi story mapping terhadap pencapaian siswa dalam menulis teks narasi di kelas sepuluh MAN Panyabungan. Kata kunci: strategi story mapping, kemampuan menulis, teks naratif.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to know whether there is a significant effect of the expository method on the students’ achievement in writing recount text to the tenth grades student of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Timur. The research was conducted by using experimental method (pretest posttest one group design) with 33 students as the sample and they were taken by using cluster sampling technique from 102 students. Test and observation were used in collecting the data. Based on descriptive analysis, it could be found (a) the average of the using expository method was 2.85 (good category) and b) the average of students’ achievement in writing recount text before using expository method was 68.18 (enough category) and after using picture and picture model was 77.06 (good category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistic by using ttest one tail, it could be found ttable was less than ttest (7.545 > 1.695). It means, there is a significant effect of the using expository method on the students’ achievement in writing recount text to the tenth grades student of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Timur. Abstract

Abstract: The aims of the research is to know the application of group resume method on students writing recount text ability at the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 6 Padangsidimpuan to know before and after use group resume at the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 6 Padangsidimpuan, and to know whether there is any significant effect of group resume method on students writing recount text ability at the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 6 Padangsidimpuan. The population in this research is all of the tenth grade students are 124. The sample are 27 students which taken by systematic sampling.The research method is use by experimental method. Collecting the data by observation sheet and test as an instrument. The result mean score of the application group resume method is 3.5, based on the technique of analysis data the criterion of score group resume with categorized “Very Good”. To know the result of the data, the researcher analysis data by use the formula of ttest. The result of the data analysis show that of ttest = 6,73, meanwhile ttable 2.06. It means that ttest is higher than ttable. It means that there is significant effect of group resume method on students’ writing recount text abiliy at the tenth grade of SMA Negeri 6 Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract

ABSTRACT : The research focused on the effect of natural approach towards students’ speaking mastery X grade - SMA Negeri 3 - Padangsidimpuan. There are students’ problems in speaking mastery like: 1) students are low in speaking mastery, 2) students feel shy to speak English, especially in front of class, 3) students often mispronounce words and they usually speak English in incorrect structure and grammar. Moreover, the teacher does not use suitable approach in teaching process. The purpose of this research is to know whether there is or there is not the effect of natural approach on students’ speaking mastery X grade - SMA Negeri 3 - Padangsidimpuan.The used method of the research is experimental research. Where as the population of the research is 6 classes at the X grade of SMA Negeri 3 Padangsidimpuan, then the total population is 230 students. Consequently, two classes were chosen randomly as the sample. They were X MIA-1 as experiment class that consists of 40 students and X MIA-2 as control class that consists of 40 students. The data is taken from pre-test and post-test. To analyze the data, the researcher uses t-test formula.After analyzing the data, the researcher finds that mean score of experimental class after using Natural Approach is higher than control class. Mean score of experimental class and control class in pre test is (59.34 < 63.7), mean score experimental class and control class in post test was (79.25 > 72.48). Besides, the score of tcount was bigger than ttable (3.18 > 2.00). It means that the hypothesis alternative (Ha) is accepted and H0 is rejected. So, there is a significant effect of Natural Approach on speaking mastery at the X grade students of SMA Negeri 3 Padangsidimpuan. Keywords: Natural Approach and Students’ Speaking Mastery

Abstract

Abstract: The effect of language experience approach on students’ comprehension in reading recount text (A study at the etnth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Sibabangun). The aim of this research is to know: 1) The extent of the application of language experience approach on students’ comprehension in reading recount text, 2) The extent of the students’ comprehension in reading recount text before and after using language experience approach, and 3) Whether there is a significant effect of language experience approach on students’ comprehension in reading recount text. The population of this research is all the tenth grade students which are divided into seven classes and total are 193 students. The sample is using systematic sampling is 32 students. This study is carried on by using experimental method. The data is collected by giving observation and test. The writer uses statistic processes in analyzing data by using formula of ttest. After collecting the data, it is found that the application of Language Experience Approach on students’ comprehension in reading recount text is 3.6. It is categorized “Very Good”. The students’ comprehension in reading recount text before using Language Experience Approach is 79.06. It is categorized “Good”. The students’ comprehension in reading recount text after using Language Experience Approach is 83.91. It is categorized “Very Good”. The calculation of ttest formula is 10.08, meanwhile the score of the ttable 5% significant level is 2.04. It is found that t0 calculation is bigger than ttable (10.08 > 2.04). It showed Ha is accepted, it means that there is a significant effect of students’ comprehension in reading recount text before Language Experience Approach at the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Sibabangun. Abstract

The aim of this research are to know: 1) The extent of the application of collaborative learning model on students’ writing announcement ability, 2) The extent of the students’ writing announcement ability before and after of collaborative learning model 3) Whether there is any significant effect of collaborative learning model on students’ writing announcement ability at X grade of SMA N 1 Angkola Barat. This research uses experimental method with the pre-experimental design by using one-group pre test and post test design. The population of this research is all of the X grade students’ of SMA N 1 Angkola Barat which consist of 180 students. Sample were X MIPA 1 which consist of 32 students which taken by cluster sampling. In collecting the data the researchers uses observation sheet and test as an instrument. The result of this research: 1) the application of collaborative learning model is 3.26, it is categorized “Very Good”. 2) The mean score of the students’ writing announcement ability is 57.2 and it is categorized “bad”. Meanwhile, after using collaborative learning model was 78.7, it is categorized “good”. The result of data analysis shows that ttestis higher than ttable(ttest10.28 >ttable2.04). So, the hypothesis is accepted. It means that, 3) there is a significant effect of collaborative learning model on students’ writing announcement ability at the X grade students of SMA N 1 Angkola Barat

Abstract : The all samawi religions can be said as the international religion because the followers of each religion can be found in most of countries in the world. So, islamy is one of the international religion that should be studied by the islam followers especially and all human in this world generally. Especially to the islam followers, they must study the alquran well so that they can make the alquran as their way or view of life means the alquran is their indicator for them in taking judgement in their life. Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this research are to know: 1) the application of complete sentence model on teaching writing paragraph ability, 2) the students writing paragraph ability before and after using complete sentence model, 3) Whether there is any significant effect of complete sentence model on teaching writing paragraph ability at the Ninth Grade Students of SMP Negeri 2 Sibabangun. This research uses experimental method with the pre-experimental design by using one-group pretest and posttest design. The population of this research was all of the IX grade students’ of SMP Negeri 2 Sibabangun which consist of 84 students. Sample were IX C which consist of 29 students which taken by purposive sampling. In collecting the data the researchers uses observation sheet and test as an instrument. The result of this research: 1) the application of complete sentence model was 3.4, it was categorized “Good”. 2) the mean score of the students’ writing paragraph ability was 39 and it was categorized “fail”. Meanwhile, after using complete sentence model was 75, it is categorized “good”. The result of data analysis shows that ttest was higher than ttable(ttest11.78>ttable2.05). So, the hypothesis was accepted. Hasilpenggunaan complete sentence model dalammengajarkemampuanmenulissiswaadalah 3.4, di kategorikan “Baik”. Nilai rata-rata kemampuanmenulissiswasebelummenggunakan complete sentence model adalah 39, dikategorikan “gagal”. Sementarasetelahmenggunakan complete sentence model adalah 75, dikategorikan “baik”. Penelitimenggunakan proses statistikdalamanalis data , yaiturumusttest.. Abstract

Abstract: The aimed of this study to (a) describe of using acrostic poem strategy in teaching writing a poem. (b) Students’ writing a poem ability before and after using acrostic poem strategy. (c) Whether there was asignificant effect of using acrostic poem strategy at the eleventh grade of SMA Negeri 1 Sayurmatinggi. The study was conducted at the eleventh grade of SMA Negeri 1 Sayurmatinggi by applying experimental method (one group pretest posttest design). Sample of the study was 49 students and they were taken by using random sampling technique by applying slovin formulation. Instrument and test were used in collecting data. Based on descriptive analysis, the result showed (a) the average of using acrostic poem strategy was 3.6 (very good category) and (b) the average of students’ writing a poem before using acrostic poem strategy was 62.43 (enough category) and after using acrostic poem strategy was 86.7 (very good category). Furthermore, by using pair sample ttest (SPSS 22), the result showed the significant value was less than 0.05 (0.00<0.05). It means, there was any significant effect of using acrostic poem strategy on students’ writing a poem ability at the eleventh grade of SMA Negeri 1 Sayurmatinggi in 2020/2021 Academic Year. Keyword: Acrostic Poem Strategy , Writing a Poem Abstrak: Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk (a) mendeskripsikan penggunaan strategi puisi akrostik dfalam pengajaran menulis puisi. (b) kemampuan siswa dalam menulis puisi sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan strategi puisi akrostik. (c) adakah pengaruh yang signifikan penggunaan strategi puisi akrostik pada siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1Sayurmatinggi. Penelitian dilakukan dikelas sebelas SMA Negeri 1 Sayurmatinggi dengan menerapkan metode eksperimen (one group pretest posttest design). Sampel dari penewlitian sebanyak 49 siswa dan diambil dengan menggunakan random sampling dengan memggunakan rumus slovin. Instrumen dan tes digunakan dalam pengumpulan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukan (a) rata-rata penggunaan strategi puisi akrostik 3.6 (kategori sangat baik) dan (b) rata-rata kemampuan siswa dalam menulis puisi sebelum meggunakan strategi puisi akrostik 62.43 (kategori cukup) dan rata-rata sesudah menggunakan strategi puisi akrostik 86.7 (kategori sangat baik). Selanjutnya dengan menggunakan uji pair sample ttest (SPSS 22) diperoleh bahwa hasil signifikan lebih kecil 0.05 (0.00<0.05). artinya ada pengaruh signifikan penggunaan strategi puisi akrostik terhadap kemampuan siswa dalam menulis puisi siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Sayurmatinggi tahun pelajaran 2020/2021. Kata kunci: strategi puisi akrostik, menulis puisi.
