Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe a competence-based education in pesantren in general. As part of the community, pesantren with typical main elements such as kiai, santri, mosque, cottage and classical instruction books (kitabkuning), has become its own subculture. Therefore, despite modernization and globalization invaded, pesantren can still maintain its existence. Furthermore, many stakeholders indicated that the pesantren is educational institutions that can serve as a model of character education in Indonesia. How are the strategies and patterns of character education by pesantren so as to create culture? What are these cultures? Commanlly, Hasyim Asyary is leader of perantrean. This article explores Hasim Asyari’ thought on his contribution in character building of nation.

Abstract

Education is an effort to affect what is done by adult generations to those who are not ready for social life. The goal is to develop the children physically, intellectually and morally that is required by both the political society as a whole and specific environment. A teacher in education is can not separated due to several factors: first, the teacher is a man who works in an official capacity for the purpose of guiding and directing the learning experience of students in educational institutions either public or private. Second, people have a lot of experience that contribute to the growth and development of students. Third, people who have passed from professional curriculum in teacher education and training institutions which have been officially recognized by an award of appropriate teaching certificate. So, this paper will discuss the role and function of teachers in Quran.

Abstract

The progress of science and technology not only bring a wide variety of fortune, but also a loss. The advantage is that human power can be replaced by machines. The distance between one place and another can be shortened. The advanced communication tools are created, and so forth. Meanwhile, the disadvantage is that it can produce a product that is very terrible, like germ bombs, chemical bombs, as well as other types of bombs that have devastating explosive power resulted in loss of life and property, and so forth. Islam derived in the earth next to bring the rules or basic principles of ethics, morality and science and technology for the establishment of a high civilization, also teaches that mankind upholds is peaceful and prosperous life, both individual and social nature.

Abstract

Interfaith relation is an important issue in the education field. Perhaps, it is because education plays a crucial role in the transfer of the science of religion and theology custody. Then religious education became a central issue in the arena of interreligious relations. Education will determine the style of interfaith relations in a plural society. Legislation on religious education thus should be criticized. The plurality of religion becomes a source of instability and disintegration seems to make the government tried to cope with any vulnerability harmony. Finally, the government issued regulations related to this issue. One of them is the Minister of Religious Affairs Decree Number 84 Year 1996 regarding Implementation Guidelines for Vulnerability Reduction Religious Harmony of Life. The operational guidelines vulnerability religious harmony is intended as a guide to the work of the officials and leaders of organizational units within the Ministry of Religious Affairs (now the Ministry of Religious Affairs) to take measures and coordinate in preventing insecurity in the field of religious harmony. Under these regulations, the causes of insecurity interreligious harmony, among others: the establishment of places of worship, evangelism, foreign aid, interfaith marriage, religious festivities, blasphemy, activity streams splinter and aspects of the non-religious influence, such as population density, the gap socioeconomic, implementation of education, ideological and regional political infiltration and international scale, which entered Indonesia through religious activities. This article examines these issues in the context of Indonesia.

Abstract

This paper discusses the improvement of children's cognitive in learning of PAI using BCCT (Beyond Centers and Circle Time) approach. In this approach, the child is stimulated to actively perform the play activities while learning in the learning centers. Center a made based on the needs and development of children. Some centers used include 1) central role play; 2) beam center; and 3) worship centers; 4) preparation center; 5) art creativity center; and 6) centers of natural materials. The results of the study indicate that the BCCT approach improves children's cognitive development with the support of this approach.

Abstract

The progress of knowledge achieved by Moslems in the classical era was related to the interactions between Islam and various existed cultures. This interaction produced some new things because of their openness, the selectiveness, and creativity. As a result, they were able to develop their knowledge and Islamize all aspects their live in terms of ontology, epistemology, and axiology, beside they expressed in Arabic language (as an “Islamic language”). Now days, science that have been known by human being, who make them overcame strongly by many problem what it’s faced. So to face this problem, science and knowledge is very significant and event urgent to discuss, especially if we see the secularization and science islamization. Then, this paper is discoursed that; what is secularization and islamization of science (knowledge) and how will the secularization and islamization of science be researched from ontology, epistemology and axiology aspects.

Dynamics flow of society continues to flow and move towards the ocean modernism community life in which an element of hope in addition to anxiety and social unrest. Global developments are happening now could be going towards positive direction and negative direction, depending on who is the most widely installed concepts, ideas, culture and values into it. Abstract

Character education can be defined as the process of planting the essential values in children through a series of learning activities and assistance so that the students as individuals are able to understand, experience, and integrate values into core values in education into her personality. By placing the character education within the framework of the dynamics and dialectics of the individual establishment, the men and women educators are expected to increasingly be aware of the importance of education as a means of forming the character code of conduct, moral formation and enrichment of individual value by providing space for exemplary figure and creating an environment conducive to the growth process, such as comfort and security of self-development environment that helps each other in overall dimensions (technical, intellectual, psychological, moral, social, aesthetic, and religious).

Abstract

Being tolerant is allowing others to be themselves, respecting others, respecting their origin and background. Tolerance invites dialogue to communicate the existence of mutual recognition. This is the picture of tolerance in its solid form. This article aims to find out the cultivation of religious tolerance values in the learning of Islamic Education (PAI). The results of the study indicate that the following measures are: first, schools should establish and implement local laws, for example school laws that are specifically applied in a particular school. Second, to build a sense of understanding from an early age between students who have different religious beliefs, the school must play an active role in promoting religious dialogue or interfaith dialogue which must remain in the guidance of teachers in the school. Third, another important thing in the application of the education of tolerance, the curriculum and textbooks used and applied in schools. Furthermore, the teaching model that can be an option for the cultivation of religious tolerance values in schools includes communicative teaching models and active teaching models.

Abstract

Theoretically, one of the dominant factors that influence the development of individual character are environmental factors which is a condition that allows the process of personal character development. Creating an conducive environment to the development of character Grikusumo Salaf Islamic School students is done by creating a tradition /habituation practical in everyday life in all their daily activities in relation to the quality of their religious or otherwise. Attempt the formation of character through this Salaf Islamic school in addition to the above character education can also be done simultaneously through the educational value of the following steps. First, apply a “modeling” or “exemplary” or “uswah hasanah”. Second, efforts to explain or clarify to students constantly about the value of good and evil has been done in the Girikusumo Salaf Islamic School. Third, implementing the SIS is based on character education. Character education is an important tool in the formation of student character. In practical guidance and counseling services in the schooling setting, character education is implemented through two ways, first directly through the services of guidance and counseling provided to students/ counselees, which are grouped into four components: (1) the component of basic service, (2) the component of responsive service, (3) the component of individual planning service, and (4) the components of the system support service. Loads of character education materials written in guidance and counseling services that include the areas of personal guidance, social guidance, learning guidance, career guidance, and character development. Second, indirectly, by example attitude and behavior of guidance and counseling teachers/counselors along with the cultivation of creative cultural, innovative, productive, collaborative, discipline, sense of belonging, and responsibility.
