Abstract

The development of an area will increase the risk of fire. Fire will not only cause physical, material loss, it can also cause casualties. In a span of 3 years, 46 major fire cases were recorded, not including unregistered fire cases. To be able to reduce the losses incurred, the fire fighters must be able to meet the fire response time of 15 minutes. To be able to meet this response time, a water source that can be used to douse the fire is needed as well as the fastest route to get to the destination point in the shortest possible time. The method used for laying the hydrant is the distribution method using Arc Gis software. The results obtained are that it takes 26 hydrant locations that are scattered in several central business areas and densely populated in the 3 sub-districts.

Abstract

PT. Meroke Tetap Jaya is a company which operates in fertilizer distribution and has many warehouses across many areas. The problem often faced by this company is the occurrence of a very long queue and frequent loading overtime, which results in reduced customer satisfaction. To avoid long queue, it is necessary to determine the number of servers and workforces. This sparks an interest in the researcher to analyze a type of queuing system called Single Channel Multi Phase at the company’s warehouses. This research uses a queuing system method to analyze the amount and average time of queue as well as SPSS software to test the data distribution. Based on the results of the study, the calculation shows that the queue time for each truck is about 2 hours. To reduce the queuing time, consider increasing the number of workforces or modify the queuing system into Multi Channel Single Phase.

Abstract

Occupational safety and health (OHS) is an important aspect of the world of work that must be fulfilled by companies. One of the ways that companies do to meet these needs is by providing training to employees in the form of work accident simulations which aim to allow employees to analyze accidents that arise due to work activities. PT. XYZ is a company that has work activities, one of which is moving goods using a crane, so the company is obliged to provide information on work accidents that can occur in this activity. This study aims to design a tool as a simulation for activities using this crane with the method used is Research and Development. Designing a mini crane simulator prototype as a prop for work accidents at PT. XYZ was developed based on Arduino with the use of an Infrared sensor which will cancel the light if the light is obstructed by an object and make crane activity stop so that work accidents can be overcome. The use of this Mini Crane Simulator is placed in the Safety Dojo which is a training venue. Further and further research on this tool is still needed and tailored to the needs of the company.
