Abstract

Online game addiction is often characterized by the inability to control the desire to play so that it is difficult or unable to stop the behavior regardless of all the efforts made to stop it. This research aims to determine the effect of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) based on Islamic values on addiction to playing online games in school-aged children. Design This research is a quasi-experiment with a two-group pretest and post-test design with the control group. The population in this study were grade 6 students from two elementary schools in Makassar City, South Sulawesi with a sample size of 64 respondents and taken by purposive sampling divided into control and intervention groups. The research instrument is a knowledge questionnaire. Data analysis using SPSS software. The research results explain that Asymp.Sig. (2-tailed) is 0.000, which shows that there is a difference in the level of knowledge in the intervention and control groups after being given CBT intervention with Islamic values because CBT with Islamic values was given to the intervention group. Meanwhile, before the intervention was given, there was no significant difference in the control and treatment groups with a value of 0.829 > 0.05. This means that there was no difference between the control and intervention groups before being given CBT with Islamic Values. Islamic Values CBT intervention can help in efforts to reduce the level of online gaming addiction in adolescents and can be used as an alternative nursing intervention in preventive efforts. Abstract

Stunting is a chronic malnutrition problem caused by a lack of nutritional intake in children over a long period which can result in growth disorders in children. Education can increase parents' knowledge and attitudes in providing children with nutrition so that it can become an alternative intervention to improve health behavior in dealing with stunting. In the research area, there are 71 stunted children. This research aims to determine the effect of education about stunting on mothers' knowledge in Pallantikang village, Jeneponto Regency. This research is quantitative research using a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pre-post test design approach and using the Wilcoxon test. In this research design, before the intervention is given, a pre-test is first given which aims to assess the mother's knowledge about stunting. After the intervention is given, a post-test will be given. The intervention that will be carried out in this research is education about stunting using lecture methods and poster media. The results of the research show the p-value = 0.000 and the median pre-test is 9.00 while the post-test value is 13.00. From the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that there is an influence of education about stunting on the knowledge of mothers in Pallantikang Village, Jeneponto district, before and after being given education about stunting. Future research needs to examine further the behavior of mothers in providing nutrition for toddlers after receiving nutrition education. Providing health education through poster media can increase knowledge and can be a good health education technique for the community.

Abstract

Currently, wound dressings consist of many types and have different functions. However, the many types of dressings available make it challenging to select the dressing used for wounds (Mustamu et al., 2020). This study aims to determine the description of the use of chronic wound dressings based on wound characteristics. This research design uses a quantitative research design with a retrospective approach. The instrument used in this research was the DMIST observation sheet. The primary dressing used most often at the beginning of wound care is wound half: The first primary dressing in 19 cases (26.0%) and the second primary dressing in 44 cases (60.3%). Meanwhile, the secondary dressing most often used at the beginning of the visit was gauze, as the first secondary dressing in 27 cases (37.0%) and the second secondary dressing in 42 cases (57.5%). Meanwhile, at the end of the treatment process, the first primary dressing was dominated by half of the wounds in 30 cases (41.1%) and the second primary dressing in 28 cases (38.4%). Meanwhile, the most frequently used secondary dressing was gauze in 18 cases (24.7%). In conclusion, the primary dressing widely used in wound care is wound zalf. The secondary dressing is dominated by gauze. Keywords: Wound Dressing, Wound Care, Wound Characteristics, Chronic Wound

Abstract

Meningitis is an infectious disease affecting the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord, often presenting with fever, headache, and stiff neck. Effective nursing interventions are crucial for managing the symptoms and improving patient outcomes. This case study examines the impact of positioning a patient with ineffective cerebral perfusion in a 30° semi-Fowler position. The research adopts a case study design using a nursing process approach, which involves monitoring vital signs, respiratory status, neck stiffness, and administering pharmacological treatments in collaboration with healthcare providers. Significant improvements were observed following the intervention. By the fifth day, the patient's consciousness had improved to a Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score of 15, indicating a state of compos mentis, with no confusion, headaches, or fever. These findings suggest that the 30° semi-Fowler position can effectively alleviate symptoms and improve cerebral perfusion in patients with meningitis. The analysis indicated a partial resolution of nursing problems, with plans to maintain the patient’s hemodynamic status and continue appropriate drug therapy for optimal recovery. The study highlights the importance of proper patient positioning and collaborative care in managing meningitis and improving patient outcomes Keywords: Meningitis, Nursing Care, Semi Fowler Position, Consciousness Status

Abstract

Cupping therapy is a complementary treatment option that can be administered to individuals suffering from Low Back Pain (LBP), a condition that continues to see a rise in its prevalence year after year. LBP is frequently experienced by office professionals who spend extended periods working in a seated position, which can lead to reduced productivity and a decline in overall health. The objective of this research was to assess the impact of cupping therapy on LBP among lecturers at Mandala Waluya University. This research entails a quantitative approach, employing a quasi-experimental one-group pre and post-test design. The research population comprises all lecturers at Mandala Waluya University, totaling 166 individuals, with a sample size of 30 respondents selected through purposive sampling techniques, as determined by the Lameshow formula. The study's findings indicate that 80.8% of the total sample of Mandala Waluya University lecturers between the ages of 30-40 years suffer from LBP. Through paired t-test analysis, it was established that the phi value was 0.000, which is smaller than the alpha value. Consequently, cupping therapy has the capacity to alleviate pain in LBP patients by promoting muscle relaxation and stimulating the release of beta hormones, which, in turn, reduces pain. Cupping therapy demonstrates its effectiveness in alleviating LBP and enhancing the daily functioning of lecturers at Mandala Waluya University.

Abstract

Bronchopneumonia is an inflammation of the respiratory tract that occurs from the bronchi to the alveoli. Bronchopneumonia is more common in young children and infants and is usually caused by the bacteria Streptococcus pneumonia and Hemofilus influenza. The aim of this study is to determine the nursing care and appropriate intervention for patients with a diagnosis of bronchopneumonia. The design of this research is a case study with a nursing process approach. The sample in this study was a child with the initials "A.". The research was carried out at the Flamboyan Kleas 3A RSUD Batara Siang nursing room in Pangkep district in 2023. Data collection is done through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The research instrument uses the form of childcare foster care. The approach to the nursing process carried out by the researchers includes phases: the investigation of the researcher in collecting data, both from the patient and the patient's family and from the health care provider; performing nurses' diagnoses; nursed interventions; and implementation and evaluation of the nursery. The results of the evaluation in patients with Bronchopneumonia with a nursing diagnosis were: ineffective breathing patterns associated with depression of the respiratory center and inefficient breathing pathway cleanliness related to obstruction of the airway that occurred over three days as a whole. The conclusions obtained indicate the evolution of the patient's condition before and after the implementation. During the treatment, the family is expected to help in the healing process of the client by participating in the implementation of a nursing orphanage.
