Abstract

This research looks at Sharia banking rules from the point of view of Sharia economic philosophy. It focuses on the ideas of maqāid syarīʿah, which are the main goals or principles of Islamic law that are meant to improve people's lives and make things fair. The study employs a mixed-method approach, integrating normative legal analysis with the maqāṣid syarīʿah framework as defined by classical and modern Islamic thinkers. A lot of primary and secondary sources were looked at to get the information. These included fiqh books, academic journals, and scholarly articles about the rules of maqāid syarīʿah and how the law works. The findings indicate that the implementation of maqāṣid syarīʿah in legal evolution transcends mere compliance with religious duties. It encompasses safeguarding five essential aims (dharuriyyat): religion, life, intellect, lineage, and property. The research illustrates that laws derived from maqāṣid syarīʿah not only guarantee lasting justice but also display adaptability to societal changes while maintaining the fundamental principles of Islamic law. This research adopts an interdisciplinary approach that connects ancient Islamic jurisprudence with modern legal concerns, especially within the Sharia banking sector. The paper gives a new perspective on how Islamic legal principles can help make Sharia banking rules that are flexible and can be used by everyone by basing its research on maqāid syarīʿah. What this shows is that maqāid syarīʿah can improve modern legal systems by combining Islamic values with basic human rights to create a more dynamic and fair financial system.

Abstract

The Sepasaran tradition, held five days after a wedding, is an important custom in the community of Kembangkuning Village, Cepogo Subdistrict, Boyolali District. This tradition carries deep cultural and religious significance, fostering social bonds in the midst of changing times. As part of the tradition, a thanksgiving event (kendurenan) is organized, followed by the symbolic acknowledgment of those who helped with the wedding preparations. This study explores how the Sepasaran tradition is practiced in Kembangkuning Village and analyzes it through the lens of 'Urf in Islamic thought. The research adopts a qualitative approach, utilizing interviews and documentation to gather data. The findings reveal that the Sepasaran tradition serves as an expression of gratitude and a prayer for blessings following the wedding ceremony. From the perspective of 'Urf, this tradition is classified as 'Urf Amali because it is practiced consistently and widely accepted by the local community. It is also categorized as 'Urf Shahih because it aligns with Islamic principles and as 'Urf Khas due to its specific regional context. This study demonstrates that the Sepasaran tradition remains a meaningful and relevant practice in the community, reflecting local wisdom and a harmonious relationship between culture and religion. It highlights how the tradition continues to strengthen social ties while staying in harmony with Islamic values

Abstract

Traditional learning models are often less effective in increasing elementary school students' interest in science and technology. The limitations of interactivity and visualization in traditional models encourage the need for digital-based learning innovations. This study aims to identify the impact of digital learning models on students' interest and learning outcomes in science subjects. The research used a qualitative approach with a case study method. The research subjects consisted of school teachers at Cangkreng II Lenteng Sumenep primary school. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman analysis model which includes data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion. The findings indicate that digital learning models have great potential in improving the quality of science learning in primary schools. The use of interactive media, simulations, and engaging visualizations can help students build a better understanding of abstract science concepts. This research contributes to developing digital learning theory by demonstrating the effectiveness of technology-based learning models in improving students' motivation and learning achievement. The implication for learning practice is the importance of integrating digital technology into the science learning process to create a more enjoyable and effective learning environment.

Abstract

Monogamy, as a form of marriage between one man and one woman, is widely considered the ideal norm in many cultures as it is associated with stability, commitment, and fidelity. In the Islamic context, monogamy is preferred as it is considered more manageable and conducive to domestic harmony. However, Islam also allows polygamy under certain conditions, which has led to an ongoing scholarly debate regarding its ethical and practical implications. While there has been much discussion regarding monogamy and polygamy in Islam, there has been little research using a maqashid sharia approach, particularly from the perspective of Jamaluddin Athiyyah. This research seeks to do so by assessing how monogamy aligns with the objectives of Islamic law compared to polygamy. This research uses a normative qualitative method with a conceptual approach. Primary data is obtained from Jamaluddin Athiyyah's works on maqashid sharia, while secondary data includes relevant journals, articles, and previous research on monogamy and polygamy. The qualitative analysis evaluates the role of monogamy in fulfilling the values of maqashid sharia, particularly in the domains of personal well-being, family stability, community harmony, and overall human well-being. The findings show that monogamy is more supportive of justice, tranquility, and well-being in family life than polygamy. From the perspective of Jamaluddin Athiyyah's maqashid sharia, monogamy significantly contributes to preserving the soul, reason, religion, honor, and. In addition, monogamy enhances social stability and promotes the welfare of the ummah, which is in line with the basic objectives of Islamic law, which are to achieve prosperity and prevent societal breakdown. Therefore, these findings will be useful for Muslim policymakers, academics, and society in understanding monogamy as a marriage framework that is more supportive of social justice and welfare.

Abstract

This study aims to develop valid, practical, and effective teaching materials on Islam, Human Rights (HR), and religious moderation relevant to the Islamic Family Law Study Program (HKI) at IAIN Sultan Amai Gorontalo. The urgency of developing this material lies in the need to enhance students' understanding of HR principles and religious moderation within the context of Islamic family law, which is essential to shaping a more inclusive and tolerant legal perspective. Given the strategic role of the HKI program in Islamic legal education, the development of these teaching materials is expected to enrich existing course content and address the educational challenges in the global era, which increasingly emphasizes HR values. The research method used in this study is research and development (R&D) with the Borg & Gall model, chosen for its comprehensive approach in developing educational products, from needs identification, material design, product testing, revisions, to dissemination of the final product. This process aims to produce teaching materials that align with the HKI curriculum requirements and are well accepted by students. The research results indicate that the developed teaching materials received positive feedback with an average score of 3.46, indicating very good quality. The impact of these results shows that the new teaching materials can improve students' understanding of HR issues and religious moderation, while enriching their perspective on Islamic family law in a more progressive way. However, several factors hinder the implementation of these materials, such as the lack of understanding among lecturers about religious moderation, limited references, and insufficient training for instructors. Therefore, further institutional support is needed to facilitate the effective use of these materials in the HKI program’s learning process, thus contributing to improving the quality of Islamic family law education in the future.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of Religious Moderation Tolerance values in shaping children's character at Madrasah Ibtidaiyyah Negeri 1 Kota Gorontalo, as well as the factors influencing its success. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with teachers, students, and parents, classroom observations, and document analysis. The findings indicate tolerance and religious moderation values are implemented through curriculum integration, contextual learning approaches, and extracurricular activities. Success factors include the active role of teachers, parental support, and supportive madrasah policies. Challenges faced include a lack of understanding among some parents and socio-cultural challenges. This study concludes that education based on religious moderation tolerance effectively shapes children's character but requires synergy between schools, families, and the community to overcome obstacles. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for developing character education based on religious moderation values in other madrasahs.
