Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Creativity is an essential aspect that needs to be developed in Arts, Culture, and Crafts (SBDP) learning at the elementary school level, particularly in visual arts education. Innovative and contextual learning approaches can help students express their ideas, imagination, and potential more optimally. One alternative medium that can be utilized is collage made from recycled waste materials, which not only enhances artistic skills but also fosters environmental awareness. This study employed a narrative qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving fifth-grade students of SDN 1 Karangmalang and their homeroom teacher. The collage activities used recycled snack plastic wrappers as the primary material to create artwork based on flora and fauna themes. The findings indicate that the use of collage media contributes to the development of students’ creativity, as reflected in their increased self-confidence, imagination, enthusiasm, and active participation during the learning process. Students were able to combine colors, arrange compositions, and add details according to their own ideas. The learning process was engaging and interactive, which enhanced students’ motivation in creating artwork. Therefore, recycled collage media can serve as an effective instructional strategy to create meaningful and creative learning experiences in elementary school. Abstract

The discrepancy in law enforcement in Indonesia sometimes leads to phenomena of injustice that contradict the principle of equality before the law. This phenomenon of abuse of authority and corruption practices incites public anger, demanding the employment of art as a means of critical expression.  This study aims to explore the visual adaptation techniques of Prasi art on contemporary media such as glass and acrylic, as well as to visualize socio-political critique through the legendary figure Parasurama Avatara. The method used is the Design and Development approach, which included stages for planning, technical experiment, and work evaluation stages. The creation process is carried out using engraving techniques with a fine drill on transparent media while maintaining the visual character of Balinese wayang. The results and discussion show that this adaptation produced four main works: “Disparitas,” which represents the disparity of legal transparency, “Parasurama vs Kartawirya Arjuna” and “Parasurama vs Everybody” as symbols of firmness against arbitrariness, and “Expectation,” which conveys as message of harmony through the Tri Hita Karana philosophy. The conclusion of this research suggest that the use of glass and acrylic media symbolically strengthens the message of legal transparency and firmness. This adaptation validates that the traditional art of Prasi is capable of contextualizing contemporary social issues while maintaining its visual identity. Abstract

This study aimed to enhance students’ creativity through the implementation of Project Based Learning in Cultural Arts learning, particularly visual arts, at SMP Negeri 6 Singaraja. The background of this research was based on the low level of student creativity, which was reflected in poster works that appeared monotonous, less varied, and highly dependent on examples from the internet. This research employed a qualitative approach using Classroom Action Research conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII.3 who experienced difficulties in developing ideas independently. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ creativity from the first cycle to the second cycle. Students were able to produce more varied, original, and aesthetically improved artworks. In addition, students’ self-confidence increased and the tendency to imitate decreased. The learning process became more active, well-managed, and student-centred. Therefore, Project Based Learning proved to be effective in improving students’ creativity. This study implies that innovative teaching methods are essential to create meaningful learning experiences and to optimise students’ potential.
