Abstract

Background: The basic capital to form a quality human being starts in the womb accompanied by breastfeeding from an early age, especially exclusive breastfeeding. Efforts that can be made to stimulate the hormones prolactin and oxytocin in the mother after giving birth are to cause a feeling of relaxation in the mother by massaging to stimulate the nerve cells in the breasts. Research objective: to determine the comparison of the effectiveness of oxytocin massage with Woolwich massage on breast milk production in postpartum mothers at the Meisya Medika Clinic. Research method: The research design uses a non-equivalent control group design, that is, the research subjects are not randomly selected to be involved in the experimental group and the control group and both receive a pre-test and post-test group. The population in this study were all postpartum mothers who gave birth at the Meisya Medika Clinic in 2023 with a sample size of 106 people, 53 people in each group. The sampling technique is non probability sampling with purposive sampling type. The instruments for collecting data are observation sheets, and hypothesis testing using the Mann – Whitney Test because it is not normally distributed to find out whether the hypothesis is accepted or rejected. Research results and conclusions: There is a comparison of the effectiveness of oxytocin massage with Woolwich massage on breast milk production in postpartum mothers at the Meisya Medika Clinic in 2023 with a calculated z value of 42,504 and p value = 0.012. Suggestions for postpartum mothers are that they can use oxytocin massage or Woolwich massage to increase breast milk production and future researchers can develop research with other non-pharmacological therapies such as giving papaya fruit, soy milk, katuk leaves to increase breast milk production.

Abstract

Background: Nutritional status is a condition of the body caused by a balance between nutritional intake and needs. Breast milk (ASI) is the best nutrition and has been proven to be beneficial for the baby's life. The mother's nutritional status during lactation affecting the success of breastfeeding, malnutrition mothers are at risk of not being able to breastfeed successfully compared to well-nutrition mothers. This will negatively affect the mother's ability to produce breast milk. This situation can indicate nutritional adequacy when entering the lactation phase. Poor nutritional status of the mother and insufficient consumption of nutrients will cause the mother to become thin and unproductive in producing breast milk. Research Objective: To determine the relationship between nutritional status, parity and number of children with breast milk production in postpartum mothers. Research Method:  This research used a cross sectional approach design with a sample of 1088 people. Data techniques include univariate analysis using frequency distribution and bivariate analysis using statistical calculations from the SPSS program. Research Results: The results of this study show that there is a relationship between nutritional status and breast milk production in postpartum mothers, which is (0.006) < α (0.050), indicating that nutritional status influences breast milk production, there is a relationship between parity and breast milk production in postpartum mothers with (0.020 ) < α (0.050) indicates that parity influences breast milk production, and there is a relationship between the number of children and breast milk prodution, namely (0.030) < α (0.050) indicates that the number of children influences breast milk production in postpartum mothers. Conclusions and Suggestions: there is a relationship between nutritional status, parity and number of children with breast milk production in postpartum mothers. It is recommended, to pay more attention about nutrition starting from pregnancy, so that nutrition will also be fulfilled when breastfeeding.

Abstract

Background: There is a large disparity in health care options between men and women in Indonesia. The primary causes of this illness are gender inequality and the stigmatisation of women in the medical system. Health initiatives have also not given this issue due consideration. Objectives: Being aware of how gender roles influence the choices made by midwives when third-trimester pregnant women are about to go into labour. Methods: The variable data is simultaneously evaluated in this cross-sectional study design, which combines a descriptive research methodology with a quantitative approach. This study included 78 pregnant women in their third trimester who were clients of Fenny Astari's own practice as midwives. The study's sample, which consisted of 78 individuals, was comprised of third-trimester pregnant women who were clients of Fenny Astari's independent practice. In this investigation, complete sampling was the sample method employed. Univariate and bivariate analyses are the two methods employed. Results: Using the chi square statistical test results, the choice is made to reject Ho and accept Ha because the p value is less than the alpha value of 0.05. Conclusions: Decision-making is very important, especially the mother's decision for services and childbirth. Because the mother's comfort in pregnancy and childbirth services affects the fetus that will be born. For this reason, there must be an understanding for the father to understand and give this decision to the mother. Because Ha is accepted, "There is a significant relationship between gender roles and midwifery service decision making".

Abstract

Background: Diet greatly influences a person's nutritional status, a good diet can improve nutritional status. A state of deficient nutritional status occurs because the body lacks one or several types of nutrients needed, such as the amount of nutrients consumed is insufficient and the frequency and quality are lacking. The trend for caesarean sections is increasing every year. One of the obstacles that often occurs in mothers after caesarean section is abstinence from food after giving birth. If the mother does not consume enough nutrition, it will result in the wound not drying quickly so that wound healing takes a long time. How to recover after a cesarean section is related to mobilization, nutrition, activity stress and personal hygiene. Research Objective: To determine the relationship between eating patterns and the healing process of surgical wounds in post caesarean section patients at Karunia Kasih Hospital. Research Method: This research used a cross sectional approach design with a sample of 98 people. Data techniques include univariate analysis using frequency distribution and bivariate analysis using statistical calculations from the SPSS program. Research Results: The results of this study show that there is a relationship between diet and the surgical wound healing process in post-sectio caesarea patients at Karunia Kasih Hospital, with the chi square test being (0.009) < α (0.050) indicating that diet influences the surgical wound healing process. Conclusion and Suggestions: there is a relationship between diet and the healing process of surgical wounds in post-cesarean section patients at Karunia Kasih Hospital in 2024. Suggestions. It is hoped that the hospital can become a reference for providing coaching and training to health workers to provide more active education to post-section patients so that they are able to maximum in the healing process.
