Abstract

Background: Breast tumors as one of the causes of death rates in Indonesia increase every year. For this reason, several breast tumor detection methods are currently needed to be developed to track the presence of cancer early on. Breast examinations can be carried out routinely and independently, namely by self-examination of the breasts (BSE). This method is an examination technique to find out whether there are lumps in a woman's breasts. Research Objective: To determine the factors that influence awareness compliance in breast tumor patients at the Bhayangkara Brimob Hospital Surgical Clinic. Research Method: The research approach used in this research is cross-sectional. The population in this study was 501 breast tumor patients in 2023. In the Slovin formula, the sample required is 83 respondents. The sampling technique for respondents used a simple random sampling technique. The instrument in this research was to use a questionnaire. Researchers used the Chi Square test with a confidence level of 95% or a significance level of 5%. Research Results: The results of statistical tests on the relationship between knowledge and conscious compliance showed a P value = 0.029. The relationship between motivation and conscious compliance obtained a P value = 0.000. The relationship between support from health workers and awareness of compliance was found to have a P value = 0.007. Conclusions and Suggestions: There is a relationship between knowledge, motivation and support of health workers with conscious compliance in breast tumor patients at the Bhayangkara Brimob Hospital Surgical Clinic. Suggestions for hospitals to create educational classes for patients, especially women of childbearing age, to be aware of early detection of breast tumors

Abstract

Stunting in children is the result of failure to thrive at the age of toddlers. Malnutrition experienced in the First 1000 Days of Life (HPK) makes children more at risk for obstacles to physical growth and vulnerability of children to disease. The prevalence in Indonesia in the last 10 years shows that stunting is one of the biggest nutritional problems in toddlers. The purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between feeding patterns and the incidence of stunting in children aged 12-59 months at the Ciuyah Village Posyandu, Sajira District, Lebak Regency. This study used observational analytical research with a case control design approach. The population in this study was mothers who had children aged 12-59 months at the Ciuyah Village Posyandu, Sajira District. The respondents in this study were 82 respondents, consisting of 41 case samples (total sampling) and 41 control samples (simple random sampling). The independent variable in this study was feeding patterns. The dependent variable in this study is the incidence of stunting. Data were collected using questionnaires and children were measured in height using a stadiometer and converted into a standardized score (z-score). Data were analyzed using Chi-Square test with significance α=0.05. The results showed a significant relationship between feeding patterns and the incidence of stunting in children aged 12-59 months with a p-value of 0.012 (p = 0.012). There needs to be an improvement in feeding patterns and promotion from nurses and health workers to provide good food for children.

Abstract

Background: WHO in 2020, stated that maternal deaths during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum were 295,000 worldwide. Africa, Sub-Saharan and South Asia account for about 86%. Meanwhile, the maternal mortality rate in Indonesia in 2020 is 230 per 100,000 live births. One of the causes of maternal death is bleeding and infection. Suturing perineal tears with anesthesia is one of the maternal care programs, which aims to reduce the pain experienced by mothers during the suturing process of birth canal wounds. Giving anesthesia can also cause damage to the immune system which results in a decrease in body resistance so that there will be a lengthening of wound healing 2-3 days than without anesthesia. Research Objective: Knowing the administration of local anesthesia on the healing duration of perineal wounds in puerperal mothers. Research Method: Quasi-experiment with post-test group design. The samples in this study were all postpartum mothers who experienced perineal injuries at PMB Nunung in November-December 2023 as many as 40 people. The sampling technique uses the total sampling technique. Results of the study: The frequency distribution of long healing of perineal wounds in the majority intervention group was slow and in the majority control group was fast. The effect of local anesthesia on the healing time of perineal wounds in puerperal mothers (p. value 0.000). Conclusion and Suggestion: The effect of local anesthesia on the healing time of perineal wounds in puerperal mothers. It is expected that midwives provide counseling to postpartum mothers to properly care for perineal wounds and eat nutritious foods to accelerate the healing of perineal wounds.
