Abstract

This study aims to find out understanding and analyzing the forms of code mixing, the types and factors of code mixing happened in this book was written by Mindy Mot. The technique of data collection used literate study. The method of this research used descriptive qualitative method. The object of this research is “The Mindy Cake & Cookies” as a recipe book written by Mindy Mot. The result showed that there were words and phrases form of code mixing in the recipe book “Mindy Cake & Cookies” by Mindy Mot. The type of code mixing in this book was named as code mixing out. In this book, there was no mixed code found because Mindy Mot did not insert the regional languages in her book. The writing of the recipe book used Indonesian which was inserted into English therefore it was found an only code mixing out. The factors caused the mixing of codes in “Mindy Cake & Cookies” recipe book by Mindy Mot are the perception of the author’s language background, language dominance, language attitude, psycholinguistic motivation, commercialization for the target market.

Abstract

The Quizizz online quiz application and the application of hard work characters have an impact on student achievement, especially on geometry courses. This study aims to investigate the influence the Quizizz online quiz and the character of student hard work on student achievement in online geometry lectures. This study involved all semester 2 and 4 students majoring in mathematics education as a research sample. The instrument used was in the form of a quizizz online quiz learning questionnaire and hard work characters. The proper questionnaire is used as an instrument for collecting data through online media. The questionnaire scale used the Likert scale with the criteria of strongly agree, agree, half agree, disagree, strongly disagree. This research is a quantitative research with ex post facto research design. Student achievement data is obtained from the average cognitive value of students during their online lectures with quizizz. Initial data analysis uses normality test, classic assumption test and influence test. The results showed that the influence of quizizz on student achievement by 69%, the effect of hard work character on learning achievement by 46%, and simultaneously quizizz online quiz and hard work character can influence student learning achievement by 68%. The contribution of this study is that the application of online quiz Quizizz and the character of hard work in online learning, especially geometry, has a dominant influence on student achievement so lecturers can apply to improve the students’ achievement.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to obtain information about the role of academic supervision and interpersonal communication. research place at public elementary schools in the administrative city of South Jakarta. This study used a survey method with path analysis techniques and a causal quantitative approach. The sample in this study was 81 teachers who were taken using simple random sampling technique or simple random sampling and the teachers who were the object of the research were determined using the sample technique formula from Slovin. The data analysis technique was performed using descriptive and inferential statistics by first doing the prerequisite analysis, namely population normality and regression analysis. The findings from the study that academic supervision activities and smooth interpersonal communication play a major role in improving teacher performance. Professional teachers will be able to manage learning activities well and will be able to provide motivation to students so that the goals of learning will be achieved and produce students who excel in their respective fields.

Abstract

Research that examines the effect of cooperative learning teams games tournament types on student learning outcomes has been done a lot, but the results of these studies have not received further study to be summarized and tested again the effectiveness of the effect of the learning model used. This study aims to analyze the effect of the use of a team games tournament type cooperative learning model with spinning wheel media-based local wisdom on the learning outcomes of elementary school students. The method used in this research is meta-analysis. The collection of data through online searches using the Google Scholar platform as many as 15 articles were collected with the details of 10 articles representing the learning models of team’s games tournaments and spinning wheel media while the remaining 5 articles are educational articles based on local wisdom. All articles are then analyzed with differences and similarities in data and then reprocessed using SPSS Version 25 using paired sample t-test and showing the Sig. (2-tailed), i.e. (0, 019) <α (0.05). So, H0 is rejected and it can be concluded that there is a significant difference from before and after the use of the learning model that assisted team’s tournament games wheel media in science subjects.

Abstract

The teachers in elementary schools have not conducted studies and developments as well as changes in the learning process oriented towards the latest student cognitive domains. The proof is that the teacher is only able to make items on the evaluation of learning outcomes that only ask students to utter memorization. This study aims to develop a learning model oriented to the dimensions of knowledge and cognitive processes. This type of research is a development with the Dick & Carey model. The subject of this research is a learning model oriented to the dimensions of knowledge and cognitive processes. Data collection methods used were interviews, documentation, questionnaires, and tests. The data analysis used is the t-test. The results showed that the learning model with the orientation of knowledge and cognitive processes (PSBDPPK) was valid, effective, and efficient to be applied in elementary schools, and the results of the t-test show that this model has a significant effect on student learning outcomes, this is indicated by the t-test, the value (Sig. (2-tailed)) is 0,000. So, it can be concluded that the learning model that crosses the dimensions of knowledge and cognitive processes (PSBDPPK) is valid, effective, and efficient to be applied in elementary schools.

Abstract

The main problem in mathematics learning is to form students’ understanding and self confidence. The aim of this study is to analyze the impact of self-regulated learning model on conceptual understanding and self-confidence in terms of cognitive styles. This study was a quasi-experimental study which applies treatment by level design, where the treatment is learning model for students with different cognitive style level. The samples of the study are 80 students in four classes, who are selected using cluster random sampling technique. Data on conceptual understanding are collected by using conceptual understanding test in the form of essay test. While the data on the students’ self-confidence are collected using questionnaires. The data collected are anayzed using manova. The results of the study indicate that self-regulated learning has positive impact on the students’ conceptual understanding and self-confidence (F = 8,796; p < 0,05). Thus, it could be concluded that learning model and cognitive style give significant impact on the students’ conceptual understanding and self-confidence in terms of cognitive styles.

Abstract

Blended learning facilitates learning by providing various learning resources and considering the characteristics of learners. This study aims to conduct a needs analysis for the development of blended learning in instructor training at Basarnas. Needs analysis is carried out to explore information about gaps and needs as well as student profiles that can be used as a basis or reference in developing blended learning at the next stage. This research is a descriptive study with quantitative approach. Data collection was carried out by means of observation, interviews, and distributing questionnaires. Interviews were conducted with the Head of the Sub-Directorate for Planning and Standardization of Basarnas Personnel, while the filling of the questionnaire was carried out by the Basarnas Rescuer who will attend instructor training as many as 50 respondents. The results show that instructor training at Basarnas can be designed in the form of blended learning by using a project-based learning approach to overcome existing limitations or gaps so that the implementation of blended learning that combines the delivery of face-to-face learning and online learning can be an intervention that is suitable to be applied and appropriate. with the needs at Basarnas.

Abstract

Since Indonesian education paradigm shifted from teaching to learning, the development of learner autonomy is more emphasized on the learner-centeredness. Henceforth, it is important to conduct a study of teachers’ beliefs regarding learner autonomy as it is widely known that teachers are recognized as an active agent to inculcate autonomy among learners. This study aims to explore EFL teachers’ beliefs regarding the idea of learner autonomy and its development within senior high school settings. This study was a mixed method study that employed a questionnaire and interview as instruments to obtain the data. The participants of this study were 18 senior high school EFL teachers. The result of the study shows that teachers hold very positive beliefs toward learner autonomy. Most of the teachers believe their learners are less autonomous in learning. Learners tend to be passive and less independent of teacher. Teachers assert that they are already promoting learner autonomy within their teaching. Some efforts have been done by EFL teachers to promote autonomy among learners such as giving freedom for learners to express themselves in learning, giving learners opportunities to solve their problems as well as motivating the learners to learn English. The constraints that teachers encounter basically derived from two factors: intrinsically from the learners’ low motivation to learn and extrinsically from the school facilities that are less adequate to support the development of learner autonomy.
