Abstract

The problem in this study is the low interest in learning in class X students of SMA Negeri 2 Percut Sei Tuan. This study aims to determine and see the effect of teacher teaching skills and the school environment on the learning interest of class X students of SMA Negeri 2 Percut Sei Tuan. This type of research is ex post facto. With a population of 288 students consisting of 8 classes, the sampling technique in this study was to use proportionate startified random sampling technique using the Slovin formula. In this technique, 168 students were sampled. Data collection techniques in this study were interviews, observation, documentation, and questionnaires. From the results of this study obtained multiple linear regression equation Y = 19.997 + 0.334X1 + 0.364X2. Based on the partial hypothesis test, it is obtained that the teacher's teaching skills (X1) are tcount > ttable (4.345 > 1.654) and a significant value of 0.000 <0.05. The school environment variable (X2) obtained a partial hypothesis test tcount > ttable (4.379 > 1.654) and a significant value of 0.000 <0.05. Simultaneously it also shows that there is a positive and significant influence of the teacher's teaching skills and the school environment on student learning interest which is shown thus Fcount > Ftable (35.346 > 3.05) and significant (0.000 <0.05). Based on the test the coefficient of determination was obtained at 0.300 or 30%. This shows that the variables of Teacher Teaching Skills (X1) and School Environment (X2) have a contribution of 30% to Student Learning Interest (Y) and the remaining 70% is influenced by other variables not explained in this study.

Abstract

Audiovisual learning tools are utilized in the educational process to deliver subject content by integrating sound and visual elements. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of audiovisual media in teaching Natural Sciences (IPA) at the elementary school level. The research method employed is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), utilizing the Google Scholar database. The literature review was conducted in three stages. Initially, the keyword "Use of audiovisual media" yielded 7,750 documents. In the second stage, adding "science learning" reduced the results to 1,160 documents, and in the final stage, further refining the keyword with "in elementary school" resulted in 648 documents. These documents were then filtered based on specific inclusion criteria, leaving 8 articles for further analysis. The findings indicate that audiovisual learning media positively impacts science education in elementary schools. Moreover, the use of such media can significantly enhance science learning outcomes across both lower and upper grades. Therefore, audiovisual media has been proven to facilitate the science learning process in elementary schools.

Abstract

The use of Augmented Reality (AR) in science learning in primary schools enriches students' learning experience by presenting interactive and visual content, allowing them to explore scientific concepts directly through advanced technology. The objective of this study is to scrutinize the effectiveness of using Augmented Reality (AR) on science learning in elementary schools through a systematic review. The study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) as its methodology by going through 4 stages, and the articles analyzed in this study were released in 2019-2023 in the Scopus database. In stage 1 or the identification stage, 27,520 documents were obtained with the keyword “Augmented Reality” and year restrictions ranging from 2019 to 2023. Then in stage 2 or the filtering stage added the keyword “Science” which obtained 1,874 documents and added back the keyword “Elementary School” so as to obtain the results of 51 documents. Furthermore, at stage 3 or eligibility, the documents that have been obtained are selected again according to the eligibility criteria, namely documents with citations above 10 and can be accessed or downloaded, resulting in 8 documents. According to the study's outcomes, it is evident that utilizing Augmented Reality (AR) is an effective method for enhancing science education in elementary school settings.

Abstract

Final semester students are required to write a thesis as their final project. Based on 2021 cohort data, the average study period for Biology Education Department students at the FKIP Universitas Borneo Tarakan is more than 4 years, which means students need a long time to complete their thesis. Therefore, this research aims to determine the factors influencing the preparation of students' theses at the Department of Biology Education, FKIP, Universitas Borneo Tarakan. The approach is descriptive and quantitative using a questionnaire as the main instrument and interview sheets as a supporting instrument. The sample in this research was 70 students who were programming their thesis. Data was analyzed by calculating the average percentage of each aspect. Factors that influence the preparation of a thesis consist of internal factors and external factors. Internal factors consist of aspects of motivation, intelligence, and activity. External factors consist of elements of the availability of learning resources, supervisors, peers, and parents. The results of this research show that the internal and external factors that influence students' thesis preparation are in the range of 61%-74% in the high category, meaning that students have high motivation, intelligence, and activity in working on their thesis to complete their thesis. Then the availability of learning resources and the role of support from supervisors, peers, and family are in the high category, thus influencing students to complete their thesis as soon as possible. The findings of this research have implications in practical contexts, where the results of this research can increase knowledge about the topic studied.

Abstract

This research was motivated by teachers who were not used to using game-based learning media, which had an impact on students' low critical thinking abilities. The purpose of this research is to find out whether the use of clock media is effective on students' critical thinking abilities? This research is a quantitative research with a pretest-posttest one group design. Data collection techniques use tests. The research instrument uses a test sheet to see students' critical thinking abilities. Data were analyzed using Paired Sample T-Test. The results of the research show that the use of game-based rotating clock media is effective for students' critical thinking abilities. This can be seen from the paired t-test analysis data by comparing the sig<a (5%) values. The results of the analysis using SPSS show that the sig value is smaller than alpha (0.000<0.05). From the obtained sig values, it can be concluded that the use of rotating clock media is effective on students' critical thinking abilities

Abstract

The Kampus Merdeka program presents challenges and opportunities for students to develop creativity, capacity, personality, and independence in seeking and discovering knowledge through real-world dynamics. This program allows students to engage more actively in a self-directed and flexible learning process tailored to their needs and interests. This study aims to describe how to liberate PGSD students' learning through creative thinking skills using a heutagogical approach. This approach emphasizes student-centered learning, where students are encouraged to take full responsibility for their own learning process. The research employed a descriptive quantitative approach with the subjects being fourth-semester PGSD students from class B at Universitas Muhammadiyah Kotabumi. Data was collected through questionnaires to measure creative thinking indicators such as curiosity, imagination, originality, the ability to ask questions, unique ideas, freedom of expression, and alternative solutions. The results showed that 14% of students demonstrated curiosity and imagination, 16% originality and the ability to ask questions, 13% unique ideas, 17% freedom of expression, and 10% alternative solutions. The conclusion of this study is that students tend to demonstrate freedom of expression as the primary indicator of creative thinking. The implications of this research highlight the need to apply a heutagogical approach in learning to further promote the development of students' creative thinking abilities.
