The article reveals basic competitiveness elements of modern enterprises in the digital economy and its effects on the supply chain strategy. Currently, the search for new sources of competitiveness focuses not only on the field of scientific, technological and innovation policies of the enterprise, but also on the Internet space, which forms new digital formats of intra-and inter-process interaction. The authors emphasize the basic elements of competitiveness in the digital economy: virtual ecosystems, platform enterprises, digital resources, Smart management. The article presents various approaches to the concept of "digital economy" and trends that put an effect on formation of competitiveness. Digital companies are becoming economic agents of the digital economy. The basic elements of a digital company are infrastructure (Internet access, SOFTWARE, telecommunications), e-business (conducting business through computer networks), e-Commerce (distribution of goods via the Internet). In a digital company, changes in business processes occur in real time using the enterprise information system. The content and ability of working with it and using it in all business processes are core of organization and its digital asset.

However, no mediation effect has been computed in the relation between trustworthiness and product consumption. The study is limited to fashion vloggers of Vietnam. However, the study significantly lacks generalisability factor. Abstract

Theoretically, the supply chain competitiveness is conclusively believed to be positively related with economic growth. While empirically, this relationship does not always hold in many countries for several reasons. In the empirical literature, the link between economic growth and competitiveness has been highly debated. Thus, the main purpose of current article is to examine the link between economic growth and competitiveness in European Union (EU-28 countries) over period from 2007 to 2017. Using Panel Models (Fixed and random effects models). In conclusion, the findings suggest that competitiveness is robustly and positively associated with real GDP per capita, if we make a policy to increase the GDP per capita, it included rise in competitiveness score for the country.

Abstract

Swiftlet bird’s nest plays significant role towards economic growth of the country and development of the industry becomes paramount. The objective of the study is to identify the key factors that contribute to the sustainable swiftlet nest production. A total of 223 swiftlet entrepreneurs were simple randomly selected from the study area. Descriptive statistics was used to identify the socio-economic characteristics of respondents and structural equation modelling was used to identify the factors that contribute to sustainable swiftlet production. Results revealed that most of the respondents were above 40 years old while almost half of the respondents have higher secondary school education. Livelihood assets, role of middlemen and role of institution were statistically significant in influencing sustainable production of swiftlet nest. These finding recommends for active monitoring and advisory services by relevant institutions and information dissemination about trainings to enhance producers’ technical knowledge on swiftlet rearing. Indirectly this will improve the physical facilities, financial management skill and social networking of swiftlet producer in order to sustain their production. Likewise, middlemen should be enlightened more about their role in the marketing of swiftlet bird’s nest and monitored by relevant authorities.

Abstract

The main objectives of the current study are to explore the nexus between green capability, product return, value chain costing, and the adoption of closed loop supply chain in the automobile industry of Indonesia. The role of product returns as a partial mediator in the CLSC adoption and recovery capability relationship indicates the absence of any direct relation among the two, thereby showing the significant role of manufacturer for encouraging towards product returns. Firms may be reluctant to invest in redeploying resources in the absence of adequate returns. The study has employed the SEM-PLS as a statistical tool to answer the research question. The findings of the study revealed the fact that the manufacturers in developing economies must understand the significant role of recovery capabilities in encouraging and influencing the CLSC system development and product returns, resulting in the reduction in ecological footprints. Presently, the Indonesian manufacturers are depending largely on traditional production methods with particular focus towards forward supply chain, having little or no consideration for recapturing, remanufacturing, and recycling of used items.

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to provide academics and practitioners theoretical, and conceptual framework of the Iceberg Problem Solving Tool ?IPST? as a generic problem-solving tool for an effective supply chain management process. This leverages Organizational learning, organizational culture and corporate knowledge in implementing changes. The ?IPST? is the moderator between the supply chain business process re-engineering of the process changes and systems thinking approach for improvement.Design/Methodology/approach: A theoretical framework is developed from the systems thinking literature; linking integrated system thinking to firm supply chain sustainability. Theoretical versus practical integrated thinking approaches are applied to contrast the rigid management of sustainability with a model that focuses on relationships and broader indicators of societal supply chain business dynamic issues. Illustrations of the conceptualized framework are presented for discussion and for further empirical research.Findings: The (IPST) the Iceberg Problem Solving Tools is a practical tool for the current repetitive events in complex business environments of the supply chain. The tool helps the business management, in seeing the entire effects of the pining emerging events within the firm's supply chain business process; where small changes in the leverage points of the chain business processes or system process lead to tremendous results in the performance of the firm?s supply chain.Practical implications: Potential firms supply chain crises can arise if the daily business events are not well analyzed this will impact the root causes; by taking the right actions for the right causes of the business events to avoid management quick win failures. The implemented action taken will occur by placing the triggers of the supply chain events in its original form; within the main workflow process; this will have the effect of implementing the best results of the ?IPST? in any supply chain business scenarios. Routines and practices will be based on cross-function process analysis through the whole system flow chart diagram of the supply chain to avoid the pain points of the business events.Originality/value: Within theoretical roots in systems thinking, this paper contributes to the relatively unexplored area of the iceberg model of the system thinking tools as a practical business problem-solving tool; for the complexity of the supply chain business events. Keywords: System thinking, Iceberg model, Flow Chart, Macro Cross functions, Critical Thinking, Supply Chain events, business process reengineering, business problem-solving.

Occasionally, Muslims do not realise that the good things that they do in their daily activities are considered as good values from the Islamic perspective, i.e. Islamic values. The present business environment of the food supply chain, particularly the poultry industry has been chosen in this study due to the fact of highest food consumption of Malaysian in poultry and poultry based products. This study found that research which assessing the Islamic values and halal supply chain has received relatively little attention in the literature. Therefore, this study attempts to fill this void by assessing the Islamic values in the halal supply chain of the poultry industry. By using a qualitative approach, data was collected from in-depth interviews of a case study. The case study of poultry supply chain is focused on the initial stage of supply chain i.e. farm. Therefore, this study found six Islamic values which exist in the halal supply chain.
