Abstract

The digital revolution is currently shaking every sector of the industry especially the supply chain and procurement industry. Concepts like “IoT”, “Industry 4.0” and “Procurement 4.0” are floating all around which is making the industry more competitive. The digital revolution is compelling the businesses to work in collaboration to achieve their targets because it is getting almost impossible for companies to survive independently, while on the other hand these collaboration lead to the complexities of the processes which can result in-transparencies in the process flows and spend management. A proper, clear and transparent spend management is the key to the success of any organization and an uncontrolled, unclear spend management can lead the companies to bankruptcies. The purpose of this research paper is to show how strategic procurement perform their spend management with conventional methods? and how the digitization and automation concepts can be used to improve the whole spend management process and how to mitigate the risks associated with spend management? Emerging literature, case studies, blogs, expert opinions, market knowledge, practical business experiences and citations are used to fulfill this task.

Abstract

Green supply chain collaboration (GSCC) is an important enabler for the successful implementation of green supply chain management (GSCM). This article aims to systematically review the current knowledge structure in the GSCC field and suggest directions for a new research agenda. A systematic literature review and a bibliometric analysis are employed to evaluate 1,462 articles from five databases. After eliminating unrelated articles, 100 were classified on the basis of content analysis and a subsequent citation network analysis performed using Pajek software. The results align with those of supply chain collaboration - information sharing, decision synchronization, and incentive alignment [1]. In accordance with the results, five research directions are outlined for future research in the GSCC field.

The Covid-19 pandemic had a significant impact on the socio-economic situation in Vietnam. The Government is implementing “dual tasks” to prioritize epidemic prevention while promoting production and business, promoting patriotism, and calling for business colleagues to turn challenges into opportunities, create a driving force for development and re-start the country’s economy. Thus, the study surveyed 450 managers related to the tax of SMEs and answered 16 questions. The data collected from June 2020 to December 2020 at SMEs in Vietnam. The authors applied a simple random sampling technique, tested Cronbach’s Alpha and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), and model testing with Structural Equation Model (SEM) analysis. The finding has three key factors affecting SMEs’ tax compliance in Vietnam with a significance level of 0.01. Finally, this article recommended policies for enhancing tax compliance at SMEs in Vietnam

Abstract

Supply Chain Integration (SCI) integrates the activities between a firm and its channel members; therefore, it is a significant interdisciplinary subject for Supply Chain Management. The main aim of this paper is to review previous research on SCI in main academic sources to give some insights and practical information in the field of SCI, while indicating an overview of the main definitions, descriptive analysis and key themes of the selected studies. This paper refers to 115 research articles in 28 journals from main academic sources between 2000 and 2019. The main result of this study shows that in the last years, research interest in SCI has increased. Although there is a huge geographic dispersion on published studies, the USA holds a leading position on SCI publications. It has been identified that scholars mainly are looking forrelationship between SCI and performance issues; in addition, new themes emerge such as the implementation of Information Technology (IT) in order to have better-integrated Supply Chains. By considering the complexities of Supply Chains, this research contributes to the literature on the ways of analyzing new trends and geographical dispersion as well as identifying the key themes in the context of SCI.

Abstract

The paper uses the GLS methodology to determine the correlation between supply chain practices, banking progress, and economic growth in Southeast Asian countries (except Singapore) on the author group database obtained from the World Data Progress Indicator (WDI) of the World Bank (WB) in the period 1998 - 2016. The results show that the increase in banking progress causes negative effects on economic growth while effective supply chain practices positively linked with economic growth. An imbalance between progress in the banking sector and the country’s economic growth can lead to negative effects.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of total quality management practices on corporate social responsibility in Malaysian hotels using supply chain management model, namely, supply chain operations reference model (SCOR). While considering the Malaysian hospitality industry, the database was developed. For a sample of 250 Malaysian hotels, with 3-5 stars, the database comprised of representative parameters related to CSR and TQM. These samples were considered a statistical population. During the last quarter of 2019, the fieldwork was conducted. The catalog, together with these parameters of examples of the hotel, was attained from surveys planned for the managers of the hotel by the researcher of the project. The final sample comprised of 81 % response rate from 202 hotels. This result was achieved after dropping the questionnaires (CSR and TQM) that were answered. It is observed that CSR hotel practices are positively influenced by high level of TQM practice with all independent variables i.e. I A (? = 0.42, t-value  = 5.15 , p-value 0.001), PM (? = 0.34 , t-value  = 3.21, p-value 0.01), SP (? = 0.29 , t-value  = 3.63 , p-value 0.01), CF (? = 0.39 , t-value  = 4.36 , p-value 0.001) and HRM (? = 0.45 , t-value  = 3.19 , p-value 0.001)   as predicted by H1 , H2 , H3 , H4 and H5 . Therefore, the data strongly supports the entire hypothesis. The structure of this paper is: firstly, the theoretical framework will be presented. Then the hypothesis related to the CSR and TQM effect will be introduced. After that, the empirical study, its methodology, and its findings will be explained. Lastly, the discussions on the results and conclusions are discussed.

Abstract

Abstract— The purpose of this study was to investigate the adaptation of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in supply chain management. This article provides a comprehensive critical analysis of the provisions of IFRS for accounting for intangible assets from the point of view of their practical application in supply chain. The objects of the study were Russian companies, because generally while composing financial statements in accordance with IFRS, there might be problems of accounting for intangible assets due to the imperfection of these regulations. The authors studied the consolidated financial statements of the 40 largest Russian organizations of the non-financial sector, composed for 2014 - 2017. As a result, there have been disclosed a number of IFRS regulations on supply chain for intangible assets, leading to significant problems in their practical application by modern organizations. The main conflicting points were the definition of intangible assets, the regulation of their valuation, the determination of the depreciation method, the ratio of goodwill and intangible assets, the presentation of general information about this type of asset. The imperfection of the regulations of IFRS on supply chain leads to the incomparability of the information presented, which negatively affects the adoption of economic decisions. The article presents options for solving the disclosed problems in order to minimize the risk of distortion of financial statements and increase the usefulness and reliability for its users.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the current status of RIA within the agriculture industry in Malaysia. This paper also identifies the mechanism used such as structure remedies in assisting economy to enhance agriculture industry in Malaysia. The study employs questionnaire‐survey approach to obtain the perceptions of wholesalers from the central, south, and east coast of Malaysia. The instruments developed have been validated using tests for reliability and validity. Specifically, a cost benefit analysis has been applied based on the eight options of regulatory impact assessment. This finding found that majority of the respondents are inheriting the business from their family and being monopolized by Chinese wholesalers. Most of them do not have any contract with agriculture producers and the price of agriculture products was decided by producers or farmers itself. Most of them seem not be well known about grading, packaging and labeling (GPL) rules and they do not need this rule due to proliferation of cost production. Undeniably, the implementation of regulatory analysis can maximize the satisfaction for both; wholesalers and producers. Therefore, the government should provide more incentives in order to encourage an attitude to implement this new regulation. The study adds solid empirical evidence to the evolving agri-entrepreneurship literature on the impacts of agriculture regulations. Specifically, this study also contributes the dearth of evidence on the efficacy of the introduction of regulatory impact analysis in a developing country.
