Abstract

Robustness of supply chain is rapidly expanding due to mitigation and reduction in the risk of unexpected and destructive events in the companies. As it is impossible for companies to resume their business post major crisis, the prediction of environmental factors that surround the companies paved way for development of a disaster recovery plan. 80% of the companies suffer from business interruptions and lack clarity in disaster management plan. A conceptual model was developed and validated based on supply chain management and supply chain robustness. A structured questionnaire was developed and administered to the supply chain managers. The survey data was collected from 126 organizations of the automotive sector. Structural equation modeling (SEM) techniques were employed to test the hypotheses. The study indicates that the robustness of Supply chain has a positive impact on the performance of the supply chain

Abstract

This paper provides an overview of activity-based costing for the end-to-end additive layer manufacturing or 3D printing process. It explains to understand the cost drivers associated with additive layer manufacturing process. Using activity-based costing, we can breakdown the cost drivers and understand the cost levers associated with additive layer manufacturing process. This can help us in finding the innovative ways to enhance the additive layer manufacturing process operation's efficiency. It also helps to assess the machine true value. We have considered an aircraft bracket manufacturing using the direct metal laser sintering process as a business case for our market analysis on 3D printing supply chain. The 3D printed components associated cost can be divided into various steps such as component design, component production, component post-processing, and component qualification. Each step in the 3D printing process performs at one place or across a supply chain based on the various internal and external suppliers. Also, there are overhead costs associated with each step of this 3D printing process. This paper explains the cost involved in the component design and its relevance to supply chain. It explains the cost involves in the component production such as materials cost, machine setup cost, machine run time cost, and final build plate removal cost. Its also explains the cost involves in the post-processing such as heat-treating cost, machining cost, and surface finish cost. The component process cost is required to qualify based on its end use. The component qualification cost is required to add significantly to the component overall cost including the labour cost and computer tomography scan cost. The overhead cost is depending on the individual operation and it assigns these costs appropriately. It computes the activity-based costing for an aerospace component and concludes with analysis to make a convincible business case for the use of innovative technology and enable to identify the cost drivers and levers, so it can drive business with more efficiently. Keywords Activity Based Costing, Additive Layer Manufacturing, Aerospace and Defense, Aerospace Business Case, 3D Printing, Supply Chain Management

Abstract

This study is devoted to assessing the supply chain management impact on universities promotion and efficiency in international and Russian universities' ratings on their development. The peculiarity of the study is that it considers both universities participating in the competitive recovery program and presented in international rankings, as well as those that do not participate therein. The paper analyzes the rating indicators, the development strategy and the positioning of four Russian universities: Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University (KFU), National Research University "Higher School of Economics" (HSE), M.T. Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University (IzhSTU) and G.R. Derzhavin Tambov State University (TSU). The research revealed the positive effects of the promotion in the university rankings on their development, among which the following can be distinguished: the formation of a competitive environment within the university, the definition of a specific strategic goal, the attraction of more qualified personnel to the university, including from the international academic market, etc. Negative consequences were revealed too, such as: increase in the workload on teachers, and as a result, reduced attention to the organization of the educational process, higher risk of losing the quality of scientific research, as a result of increasing the number of publications, ineffective spending of the university funds.

Abstract

A lot of countries suffer from the large size of the informal economy as some estimates suggest that the volume of the informal economy in the economies of developing countries, represents a range from a high percentage of (30% -70%) of the gross domestic product of these countries. It means that a large proportion of economic activities in developing countries is operated with a level less than optimal level of operation and with high cost, which limits the benefit from the resources and energies available to these facilities that operate within this economy. In the 1980s, we witnessed the deployment of a number of new production strategies, such as timely production, lean manufacturing, Kanban systems and comprehensive quality management. These new production strategies were used by a number of companies to improve the management system, increase production and improve process quality, and reduce waste production and inventory costs, in order to improve competition in various markets. Recently, while these strategies focus more on improving supply chain management to achieve their goals, henceforth a number of developed supply chain management strategies can be analyzed with the help of a computer. Choice-based decision support tools play a crucial role in collaborating and managing decision support markets from a set of multiple component supply chains. This study concludes that the reason for the spread and growth of informal economy is related to economic, social and legal factors, which include the lack of employment opportunities that have resulted from decrease in the number of projects in public and private sectors and their limitations as well as some obstacles, the most important of which, is the expansion of financial and administrative corruption. In addition to that, the high volume of the informal economy has positive effects and other negative ones that exceed the positive effects on economy, and the most important of these effects are tax evasion, lack of social protection for workers, and deformation of data and statistics. Therefore, this study has recommended that state should give more attention to this economy by collecting and analyzing data and information on the labor market, preparing studies that show its economic feasibility, enhancing and expanding the extension of social protection, health, and occupational safety, improving governance climate in the country, strengthening the ruling of law and the legislations of labor law, improving the business environment for micro and small enterprises, establishing industrial and commercial complexes, facilitating the extraction of activity licenses, investing in education, and developing vocational training centers.

Abstract

Due to the wide scope of the accounting environment, the purpose of this study is to explain a number of components of the accounting environment and their impact on the financial reporting of commercial banks. The components (liquidity, financial leverage, profitability, profit management, company size, company life cycle, corporate governance) are randomly selected from the background of the research and each research record is presented. Considering the aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between the two main variables of the research 1- accounting environment (independent variable) 2- preparing financial reports of commercial banks (dependent variable). Therefore, descriptive - correlation method has been used. Also, the library method has been used to collect the content related to theoretical foundations and research background. The statistical population of the study is 40 branches of commercial banks located in Australia. In this research, randomly, 7 variables were selected from the research background that were components of the accounting environment and then a researcher-made questionnaire with appropriate validity and reliability of about 0.1 was obtained by the research participants. After reviewing the collected data, we have tried to apply the multivariate regression test in SPSS software. Regression results showed that two independent variables (profit management, company life cycle) have a positive and significant relationship with the dependent variable (financial reporting of commercial banks) in the present research. Earnings_manage variable with 0.048 is smaller than 0.05 and shows that there is a significant relationship between this independent variable and the dependent variable (financial reporting of commercial banks). Also, Reg_date_on_s_exchange variable with a correlation coefficient of 0.000 is less than 0.05, indicating that there is a significant relationship between this independent variable and the dependent variable (financial reporting of commercial banks). Other variables such as financial leverage, liquidity, etc. have not shown any significant relationship.
