<![CDATA[This study aims to develop an evaluation tool to evaluate the overall logical reasoning core literacy skill and understand the differences in logical reasoning skills between students of different classes and genders. The quality of the developed evaluation tool is tested and optimized based on the Rasch model. The measured sample data are processed and analyzed by winsteps software and SPSS software. 122 senior three students from different classes were evaluated by the developed logical reasoning literacy level evaluation tool with good reliability and validity. It was found that the overall logical reasoning skills of senior high school students was concentrated in Level II, and some students could reach Level III; there are obvious differences in the level of logical reasoning skills between the experimental class and the ordinary class. The overall level of the experimental class is higher than that of the ordinary class; there is little difference in the distribution of male and female at the low level, but compared with male, female' literacy Level Is obviously limited after reaching a certain level, so it is difficult to break through and rise to the third level.]]>

<![CDATA[Abstract Learning motivation is a factor that has a lot of influence on students’ achievement. Changes in the education world in the Covid -19 pandemic are still being felt today. This situation provides opportunities for students to play in learning and causes their learning motivation to decrease. The aim of the research is to describe learning motivation of students in Sosorgadong environment. The approach of the research used qualitative descriptive by using questionnaire (Guttman scale) and interview (students and parents as the informant) in collecting the data. The result of the research 1) based on the interview with the students and parents, learning motivation is less and 2) based on questionnaire shows the average of learning motivation is 60 (less category). It’s concluded learning motivation of students in Sosorgadong environment in the Covid -19 pandemic is less.]]>

<![CDATA[PISA model mathematical problem development using the Palembang context is an alternative to improve student mathematical abilities or student’s mathematical literacy. This type of research is a development research consisting of a preminary stage ( preparation and design ) and a prototyping stage using a formative evaluation design flow including the self-evaluation, expert review, one-to-one, small group and field test stages. This study aims to explain the validity and practicality of the PISA model mathematical problems using the Palembang context. And has a potential effect on student learning outcomes. As for the subjects in this study were the SMP Negeri 22 Palembang school in class VIII.1, totaling 29 people. This research resulted in: 1). The PISA model mathematical problem using the Palembang context which is classified as valid. 2). The PISA model mathematics problem using the Palembang context which is classified as practical. 3). <![CDATA[The background of this research is Covid- 19 pandemic in world that caused global health crisis. This problem made a policy to change offline learning to online. Based on the situation, the researcher is interested to describe the students learning motivation of Junior High School in Lingkungan I Pasar Batu Gerigis, Barus sub-district. The approach of this research used qualitative descriptive and subject of the research is students of SMP in Lingkungan I Kelurahan Padang Masiang. Triangulation sources were used in checking data validity. Questionnaire and interview were used in collecting the data. The result of questionnaire shows 50% in poor motivation, 30% in enough motivation, and 20% in good motivation. Furthermore, the results of interview of students (1) poor motivation because students feel boring, lazy, and incomprehension of the subject, (2) enough motivation because students repeat the subject again and they like environment because they have a lot of friends, (3) good motivation because they are not boring in learning mathematics and the y always do their homework. Based on interview of teacher, She says that students have poor motivation.]]>

<![CDATA[The background of this research is that there are students who have difficulty understanding mathematics and the purpose of the research is to describe personality competence of mathematics teacher at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Andam Dewi. The approach of the research used descriptive qualitative. Questionnaire and interview used in collecting the data. The source of the data includes 10 students (5 students of XI MIA 1 and 5 students of XI MIA 2) and 2 mathematics teachers (1 teacher of XI MIA 1 and 1 teacher of XI MIA 2). Based on the questionnaire sheet shows 1) the average of personality competence of mathematics teacher of XI MIA 2 is 107.5 (good category) and 2) the average of personality competence of mathematics teacher of XI MIA 2 is 106.2 (good category). Furthermore based on interview, personality competence of mathematics teacher at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Andam Dewi is good category.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aimed to analyze the linkages between students ' mathematics learning readiness and students' mathematics communication ability during the Covid -19 pandemic at SMP Negeri 1 Sosorgadong. The approach of the research applied qualitative descriptive. Questionnaire, test, and interview were used in collecting the data. The technique of data analysis used triangulation. The source of the data is 10 students and 3 students is the subject of the research. The result of the research shows the students' physical condition is good in teaching learning, the average of students’ learning readiness is 69.2 (enough category), and the average of students' mathematics communication ability is 66.33 ( enough category). The linkages between students ' mathematics learning readiness and students' mathematics communication ability during the Covid -19 pandemic at SMP Negeri 1 Sosorgadong includes students who has high mathematics learning readiness has high mathematics communication skills, students who has enough mathematics learning readiness has medium mathematics communication skills, and students who has low mathematics learning readiness has low mathematics communication skills.]]>

<![CDATA[The aims of the research is to describe online learning effectiveness on pandemic Covid-19 period in terms of mathematic problem solving ability and students’ response at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Padangsidimpuan. The approach of the research used quantitative descriptive and 15 students as the subject of the research. Questionnaire and test were used in collecting the data. Analysis statistics shows a) the average of online learning on pandemic Covid-19 period is 76.33 (good category), b) the average of mathematic problem solving ability is 38.70 (poor category), and c) the average of students’ response is 62.83 9 enough category). Furthermore, based on inferential statistics by using pair sample ttest ( SPSS 22) shows the significant value is less than 0.005 ( 0.000<0.05). It’s concluded online learning effectiveness on pandemic Covid-19 period in terms of mathematic problem solving ability and students’ response at the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Padangsidimpuan.]]>

<![CDATA[The aim of the research is to analyze critical thinking ability in terms of students’ learning interest during Covid – 19 period in SMP Negeri 3 Satu Atap Andam Dewi. The approach of the research is descriptive qualitative. Subject of the research consist of 10 students. Observation, test, questionnaire, and interview were used in collecting the data and triangulation technique was used in analysis technique. The research of the research shows the average of students’ learning interest is 78.95 (good category) which 50% of students in very good category, 30% of students in good category, and 20% in enough category. Furthermore, the average of students’ critical thinking ability is 52.24 (medium category). It’s concluded students’ able to analysis the questions, evaluate by using directly strategy in solving the questiona, and taking conclution.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to describe students’ mathematical communication ability on the topic statistics at the eighth grade students MTs S Aek Bonban. This research was conducted by using qualitative descriptive with the informants 1 mathematics teacher and 5 students ( 1 students who has high ability , 2 students who have average, and 2 students who have low ability) as the subject of the research. Interview and test were used in collecting the data. Students who has high ability able to understand and overcome the mathematical problem well based on the indicators, students who have medium ability able to understand the mathematical problem well but they are not able to overcome the mathematical problem well based on the indicators (they able overcome 2 indicators), and students who have low ability are not able to understand the mathematical problem well and they also are not able to overcome the mathematics problem well ( they able to overcome 1 indicators).]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to describe the effectiveness of applying kooperatif tipe teams games tournament learning on students’ mathematical logical thinking ability on the topic linear equation system of two variables at the tenth grade students of SMKS Yayasan Pendidikan Islam Padang Lawas. This research was conducted by applying experimental method (one group pretest posttest design). Sample of this research is 30 students which taken by using cluster random sampling technique from 55 students. Observation and test were used in collecting the data. Observation sheet shows the average of applying kooperatif tipe teams games tournament learning is 4 (very good category). The result of the test shows average of students’ mathematical logical thinking ability before applying kooperatif tipe teams games tournament learning is 58 (enough category) and after applying kooperatif tipe teams games tournament learning is 85,85 (very good category). Furthermore by using pair sample ttest (SPSS 16) and N-Gain shows the significant value is less than 0.05 (0.000 <0.05). It’s concluded kooperatif tipe teams games tournament learning has the effect on students’ mathematical logical thinking ability on the topic linear equation system of two variables at the tenth grade students of SMKS Yayasan Pendidikan Islam Padang Lawas.]]>
