Abstract

This research is aimed at 1) determining the effect of transformasional leadership of satisfactory of employees of Bappeda (Planning and Regional Development Agency) of Mataram, 2) determining the effect of incentiveon the work satisfactory of employees of Bappeda of Mataram, 3) determining the effect of organizational culture on the work satisfactory of employees of Bappeda of Mataram. The population of this research ware all employees of Bappeda of Mataram. The sample of the research ware 39 employees selected through census method. The data ware collected through questionnaires, documentation, and interview. The data were examine with multiplee linear regression using SPSS program. The reasearch showed that the were of transformasional leadership, incentive, and organizational culture had positive effect of the work satisfactory of employees of Bappeda of Mataram.Keyword:transformasional leadership,, incentive,organizational culture, work satisfactory

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of words of mouth and celebrity endorsers to brand awareness and brand attitude. It also examines the influence of words of mouth and celebrity endorserson brand attitude through the consumers’ brandawareness in Top Coffee, Mataram. The population of this research was the Top Coffee’s in Mataram City. There wehe 100 respondents, the sample was taken using purposive sampling technique. The data were analyzed with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results show that there was a positive and significant correlation between words of mouth and celebrity endorsers toward brand awareness and brand attitude. There was also insignificant or partially significant effect on the correlation of word of mouth and celebrity endorsers toward brand attitude that was mediated by brand awareness. This research has both theoretical and managerial implications in the context of Top Coffee products. Key words: words of mouth, celebrity endorser, brand awareness, brand attitude

Abstract

This research is aimed at determining the effect of transformational leadership, organizational environment and work discipline on the performance of private universities employees in Bima. The analysis is also to determine dominant variable affecting the performance of employees performance. This research is causal associative. The population is the employees of all universities in Bima from which 69 respondent were selected. The data were collected through questionnaires. The test is conducted with validity and reliability test. The data then were analyzed with multiple linear regression along with determination test (R2) t-test (partial), standardized coefficients beta. The research showed that (1). there is significant effect partially of transformational leadership, organizational environment and work discipline on the performance of employees, (2) work discipline is the most dominant affecting variable on the employees performance.Keywords: transformational leadership, organizational environment, work discipline,

Abstract

This study aimed at examining the effect of intellectual capital and its components covering value added capital employed, value added human capital, and structural capital value added on the firm performance. Intellectual capital was measured by using Pulic’s model, while the firm performance was measured by return on asset, return on equity, and market-to- book ratio. The samples used in this study were 103 manufacturing industries and we also investigated every subsector of the manufacturing industries including 51 basic and chemical industries, 30 miscellaneous industries, and 22 consumer goods industry listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period of 2012 up to 2016. Multiple regression analysis was used to test the hypothesis. The result of the study showed that intellectual capital had a significant positive effect on return on asset, return on equity, and market-to-book intellectual capital on the firm performance in each subsector of the manufacturing industry. Value added capital employed as a component of intellectual capital was the most influential component on the firm performance. This findings indicated that a firm with great and well managed of capital employed, allowing a firm to improve their performance. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh intellectual capital dan komponennya yang meliputi value added capital employed, value added human capital, dan structural capital value added terhadap kinerja perusahaan. Intellectual capital diukur menggunakan model Pulic, sementara kinerja perusahaan diukur dengan return on asset, return on equity, dan market-to-book ratio. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 103 perusahaan pada industri manufaktur, dan kami juga kami meneliti masing-masing subsektor dari industri manufaktur yang meilputi 51 perusahaan pada  industri dasar dan bahan kimia, 30 perusahaan pada aneka indstri, dan 22 perusahaan pada industri barang konsumsi yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia selama jangka waktu 2012-2016. Analisis regresi berganda digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa intellectual capital berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap return on asset, return on equity, dan market-to-book ratio di semua industri. Selain itu, hasil penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan pengaruh intellectual capital terhadap kinerja perusahaan pada masing-masing subsektor industri manufaktur. Value added capital employed yang merupakan komponen dari intellectual capital merupakan komponen yang paling berpengaruh terhadap kinerja perusahaan. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa perusahaan dengan modal yang besar dan dikelola dengan baik, memungkinkan perusahaan untuk meningkatkan kinerjanya.Intellectual capital, value added capital employed, value added human capital, structural capital value added, return on asset, return on equity, market-to-book ratio.

Abstract

This research is aimed at determining how significant the effect of leadership style, trust, and competence is on the effectiveness of women leader either partial or simultaneously. Besides that this resaerch is also aimed at determining which factor of the leadership style, trust, and competence dominantly affecting the effectiveness of women leader. The samples were 85 employees selected through proporsionated random sampling. They are coming from local government stajJingagencies, agricultural, fishery, and forestry extension agencies, local library and archive board of Mataram. The data were analyzed with multiple linear regressions. The research showed that (1) there is partially significant effect of leadership style, trust, and competence on the effectiveness of women leader in Mataram, (2) there is simultaneously significant effect of leadership style, trust, and competence on the effectiveness of women leader in Mataram, (3) Trust is the most dominant factor affecting the effectiveness of women leader in Mataram.Keywords: leadership style, trust, and competence, effectiveness of women leader

Abstract

 The main objective of this research is to create good corporate governance that is able to restrictopportunistic REM. The specific objectives of this study are 1) to provide evidence of difference inthe practices of CG and REM in Indonesian and Malaysian Islamic banks,and 2) to provide empirical evidence of the influence of CG on the REM of Indonesian and Malaysian Islamic banks.           The study was conducted on Indonesian and Malaysian Islamic banks from 2011 to 2016by using purposive samplingmethod. The research data is secondary data in the form of annual reports and financial reports originating from the Indonesian Banking Directory, the Indonesia Stock Exchange and the Malaysia Stock Exchange. The analysis method used to test the differences between CG and real earnings management is the Man Whitney test whilethe method used to test the effect of CG on the REM of Islamic Banks in Indonesia and Malaysia is the multiple regression analysiswithordinary least square.            The results show that the practices of corporate governance in Indonesia and Malaysia have their own strengths and weaknesses. CG mechanism of Indonesia and Malaysia shows lower level in some parts and higher level in other parts. Malaysia’s REM islower than Indonesia’sREM through operating cash flow, investment profit sharing, and discretionary costs. The experimental results show that CG generally does not affect real earnings management and only the independent audit committee who is able to restrictreal earnings management through operating cash flows.            Riset ini  menguji  hubungan antara corporate governance (CG) dan manajemen laba berdasar aktivitas riil  atau disebut real earnings management (REM) bank-bank Islam  di Indonesia dan Malaysia. Tujuan jangka panjang riset ini adalah terciptanya good corporate governace yang mampu membatasi REM oportunistik. Target khusus penelitian ini adalah 1) memberi bukti empiris perbedaan praktik CG dan REM bank Islam  Indonesia dan Malaysia. 2) memberi bukti empiris pengaruh CG terhadap REM bank Islam  Indonesia dan Malaysia.             Metode penelitian menggunakan metode ilmiah - kuantitatif, dengan membangun satu atau lebih hipotesis berdasarkan pada suatu struktur  atau kerangka teori dan kemudian menguji hipotesis-hipotesis tersebut secara empiris. Penelitian dilakukan pada bank Islam  Indonesia dan Malaysia periode waktu 2011 sampai 2016. Metode pengambilan sampel secara purposive sampling. Data penelitian merupakan data sekunder berupa  annual report dan laporan keuangan yang berasal dari Directory Perbankan Indonesia, Bursa Efek Indonesia  dan Bursa Efek Malaysia.  Teknik analisis untuk menguji perbedaan CG dan manajemen laba riil adalah uji beda Man Whitney, sedangkan untuk menguji pengaruh CG terhadap REM Bank Islam  Indonesia dan Malaysia menggunakan analisis regresi berganda ordinary least square.            Hasil menunjukkan bahwa praktik corporate governance Negara Indonesia dan Malaysia, masing masing memiliki kelebihan dan kelemahan. Mekanisme CG ada yang lebih rendah, maupun lebih tinggi antara Negara Indonesia dengan Malaysia. REM Malaysia lebih rendah signifikan dari pada Indonesia, baik melalui arus kas operasi, bagi hasil investasi, maupun biaya diskresioner. Hasil uji menunjukkan bahwa pada umumnya mekanisme CG tidak berpengaruh terhadap manajemen laba riil. Hanya Independensi komite audit yang mampu menekan manajemen laba riil melalui arus kas operasi.Keywords:Corporate governance, real earnings management, Islamic banking.

Abstract

The bad economic conditions make competition in the business world becomes more intense,so that this makes employers continuously improve their efforts to achieve company goals.In order to achieve the goal, the company needs to try some marketing strategies such asproduct diversification, because the product diversification can increase consumerrepurchase interest. To maintain the the interest, the company must also pay attention to thecompany's reputation as what has been done by UD Sabar Menanti to survive in theelectronic market in Gerung while competitors retreated. This study is aimed at analyzingthe significant effect of the variables of product diversification and of the variables ofcompany reputation on the repurchase interest at UD Sabar Menanti in Gerung WestLombok. This research is associative research. Data are collected through a sample surveywith purposive sampling technique of 100 respondents. Data are collected throughobservation, interview and a questionnaire. Data analysis method used is the structuralanalysis equation modelling with LISREL program version 8.80. The first estimation showedthat diversification of electronic products significantly affect direct repurchase interest. Thesecond estimation indicated that both variables of product diversification and companyreputation and the interaction did not significantly affect the repurchase interest. Thus it isconcluded that product diversification variable positively and significantly affect therepurchase interest. While the variable of company reputation did not affect the therepurchase interest and could not moderate the relation between the company reputationand the repurchase interest in UD Sabar Menanti in Gerung West Lombok. It is suggested,then, that UD Sabar Menanti continue to develop product diversification in order toincrease the repurchase interest.Keywords: product diversification, company reputation, repurchase interest.

Abstract

This research aims at finding and the influence of : (1) Emotional  Quotient on  OCB, (2) Spiritual Quotient on OCB, and (3) Organizational Commitment on OCB.  This research is causal associative research which uses questionnaire as the instrument of Data Collection. The Population of this research are 119  Permanent Lecturers  of Private Islamic Higher Education in East Lombok West Nusa Tenggara Indonesia. Questionnaire was used to collect data. The collected data were then analyzed with Linear Multiple Regression.  The result shows that: (1)  Emotional Quotient has positive , but insignificant  effect on  OCB, (2)  Spiritual Quotient has positive and significant effect on  OCB, and (3) Organizational commitment has positive and significant effect  on OCB.Keywords: Organizational Citizenship Behavior, Emotional Quotient, Spiritual Quotient, and Organizational Commitment.

Abstract

 Indonesia is currently adopting the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) concept for its national health development plan. This indicates that Indonesian health institutions, including hospitals, were encouraged to apply BSC as their strategic management tool. This study is aimed to fill the literature gap by reviewing the existing international experiences regarding the Balanced Scorecard implementation in hospitals and assess its applicability in Indonesian public hospitals. By using a research method called "systematic review", we study in more detail the diversity of proposed BSC for healthcare organizations described from major online-based research databases, e.g. Pubmed, EBSCOhost, Scopus, Emerald, Wiley, ScienceDirect, JSTOR, SpringerLink, and Inderscience.Most of studies on BSC adoption and implementation highlight benefits such as managerial focus improvement, capturing a balanced view of financial and non-financial performance indicators, helpful in goals congruence, useful as cultural and motivational tool, and also for catalyzing changes needed by hospitals. However, time-consuming and a need for intensive exercises were reported as major challenges in its adoption and implementation process. A gradual approach would be an appropriate for Indonesian context, with an institutional assessment of cultural readiness as an additional approach, then followed by the designing, piloting, and gradual scaling-up. Rencana pembangunan di bidang kesehatansaat ini di Indonesia mengadopsi konsep Balanced Scorecard (BSC). Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwasanya institusi-institusi kesehatan, termasuk rumah sakit, juga diharapkan untuk menerapkan konsep BSC tersebut. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mereviu penerapan BSC di rumah sakit di berbagai Negara dan menilai kelayakan penerapannya untuk rumah sakit–rumah sakit di Indonesia. Studi ini menggunakan metode systematic review, yaitu dengan mempelajari artikel-artikel penelitian terkait BSC Rumah Sakit yang dipublikasikan secara online di Pubmed, EBSCO, Emerald, Wiley, Science Direct, JSTOR, Springer Link, dan Inderscience. Studi ini menemukan bahwa manfaat dari penerapan BSC di rumah sakit antara lain meningkatkan focus dalam proses pengelolan institusi, menyeimbangkan capaian kinerja keuangan dan non-keuangan, membantu menyelaraskan tujuan, mendorong budaya kerja yang positif dan meningkatkan motivasi kerja, serta mendorong perubahan lingkungan kerja seseuai kebutuhan rumah sakit. Studi ini juga menemukan bahwasanya tantangan utama dalam penerapan BSC di rumah sakit adalah lamanya waktu yang dibutuhkan untuk proses adopsi dan penerapannya, dan membutuhkan proses percobaan (piloting) yang intensif. Bagi rumah sakit di Indonesia, BSC sebaiknya diadopsi dan diterapkan secara bertahap. Rumah sakit juga perlu melakukan penilaian kesiapan secara kelembagaan (readiness assessment) sebelum dilakukan desain, piloting, dan penerapannya secara bertahap untuk skala yang lebih luas.Keywords:balanced scorecard, systematic review, strategic management tool, management control, benchmarking

Abstract

This study aims to predict financial distress on insurance companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange period 2011-2016. Type of research used in this research is descriptive research. Sampling technique in this research using purposive sampling technique. Data collection method in this research is sample survey method. Data collection techniques using documentation techniques. Data analysis technique using Altman Z-Score model with formula Z = 1,2X1 + 1,4X2 + 3,3X3 + 0,6X4 + 1,0X5. The results showed that in the period 2011 there were 2 companies in the category of distress area and 7 companies in the grey area category. In the period 2012 and 2013 there were 3 companies in the category of distress area, 5 companies in the grey area category and 1 company in the category of non-distress area. In the period 2014 there were 5 companies in the category of distress area, 2 companies in the grey area category and 2 companies in the category of non-distress area. In the period 2015 there were 6 companies in the category of distress area, 1 company in the grey area category and 2 companies in the category of non-distress area. And in the period 2016 there were 4 companies in the category distress area, 4 companies in the grey area category and 1 company in the category of no distress area.Keywords : Prediction, Z-Score, Financial Distress, Insurance Companies, Bankruptcy
