Abstract

This study was motivated by the results of a literature review conducted by the researcher, in which a study at SMAN 1 Kasihan involving 49 students from Class XI IPA 1 and Class XI IPA 2 found that students had difficulty with the topic of limits of functions. One way to reduce students’ errors in this topic is to analyze the errors they make when answering limit problems. This study aims to identify the types of errors students make when solving limit problems. As this is a qualitative study, the method used is qualitative descriptive analysis. The research was conducted online with three 11th-grade science students in their second semester in the Bandung area during the 2019–2020 academic year. This error analysis is based on Newman’s (Newman Error Analysis). According to Newman, students’ errors in answering problems are categorized into five types: (1) reading errors (Reading Errors), (2) comprehension errors (Comprehension Errors), (3) transformation errors (Transformation Errors), (4) process skills errors (Process Skills Errors), and (5) encoding errors (Encoding Errors). The research instrument consisted of five validated questions. The results obtained in this study indicate that the types of errors made by students in solving problems on the topic of limits of functions include comprehension errors, transformation errors, and process skills errors.

Abstract

High-level thinking skills are the ability to think in a complex and abstract way about new knowledge then stored in memory, so this knowledge correlates with previous knowledge comprehensively so that it is able to draw its own conclusions. This study aims to analyze and describe the extent of the high-level thinking ability of junior high school students in solving geometry HOTS problems based on learning achievement. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method. The instrument used was in the form of a description test of two HOTS questions on the geometry of flat building materials which refers to the HOTS indicator according to Karthwohl (2002). The subjects of this study are two students from one of the junior high schools in the Indramayu area with different levels of learning achievement, namely students with high and low achievements. The results of the research conducted show that students with high achievement and students with low achievement have not been able to meet the three HOTS Indicators according to Krathwohl (2002), namely analyzing, evaluating and creating. In this study, the level of students' high-level thinking ability is still very low. Therefore, the provision of HOTS-based learning in schools must be applied consistently so that it can encourage the thinking ability of every student, considering that the burden on students is getting heavier in the face of the globalization era and regarding HOTS standard questions that have begun to be used in national exams.

Abstract

The article makes a certain contribution to Methodology, Neuro-linguistics, Classroom Management, Cognitive Linguistics, and Text Interpretation. For further investigation we can suggest the followings: cross-level competence on language learning in different types standards and distinguishing skills of language. According to this helpful investigation the state of congruence in neuro-linguistic programming is believed to help with language fluency, as it suggests that teaching non-verbal communication in conjunction with phonology and functional language produces better language learning results.

Abstract

This research aims to examine and to describe mathematical critical thinking ability of Junior high school based on Watson-Glaser Critical Thinking Appraisal (WGCTA). This type of research is qualitative research with case study design. The study involved 19 students of class VIII at one of junior high school in West Bandung. The data obtained are the results of test and interview. The analysis techniques used include data reduction, data presentation, and research conclusion. Based on the data analysis and the finding of the research, it can be concluded that there are many students who have not fulfill the indicators of critical thinking, there are 12 students who fulfill assumption indicator, 14 students who fulfill interpretation indicator, 1 student who fulfill argument analysis indicator, and 12 students who fulfill make a conclusion. The students who cannot fulfill the indicators of critical thinking are caused by students forget how to solve the problem, do not understand about materials so students cannot solve the problem, cannot prove the truth, and cannot give a correct argument.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students' mistakes in solving algebraic calculation operation problems in class VII and analyze aspects that cause students to make mistakes. This type of research is included in qualitative descriptive research. The subject of the research is a grade VII student of SMP IT Alhimmah. The data collection methods used in this study are tests, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques through data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the mistakes made by students in solving algebraic calculation operations include: (1) Misunderstanding of problems; (2) Errors in understanding and applying concepts; (3) Calculation errors. The aspects that cause students to make mistakes are that students do not understand the purpose of the questions given, students have not mastered the prerequisite material, students do not understand the material, students forget basic algebraic formulas and concepts, students lack practice in solving algebra and arithmetic operations, students are less thorough when performing calculation operations, and students do not double-check the completed answers.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to find out how the Current Ratio, Debt to Asset Ratio and Net Profit Margin partially and simultaneously influence the profit growth of manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange. (BEI). The study lasted five years, from 2017 to 2021. The research method used is quantitative. The sample was taken using the purposive sampling method. The data used is secondary data from the financial statements consisting of seven companies for the period 2017-2021. Double coefficient analysis, double linear regression, and statistical hypothesis testing are used partially and simultaneously. Research results show that the current ratio partially affects profit growth. Where the test results of the hypothesis show from the t count value 2,055 > t of the table 2,039 and a significant value of 0.048 < 0.05 so that H1 is accepted. Partially, the ratio of debt to asset does not affect Profit Growth. Where the result of the hypothetical test shows the thitung value 0.010 < t table 2.039 and the significant value is 0.992 > 0.05, so H2 is rejected. Net Profit Margin partially affects the growth of profits. Where the results of the hypothesis test show a t count value of 13,793 > ttable 2,039 and a significant value of 0,000 < 0,05 so H3 is accepted. Current Ratio, Debt to Asset Ratio and Net Profits Margin affect the growth in profits simultaneously. The test results of the hypothesis showed a significant value of 0,000 < 0.05 and F counting 71,034 greater than F table 2.90, so H4 was accepted.

Abstract

The development of information technology encourages academic libraries to implement automation systems in bibliographic activities and library material processing. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Senayan Library Management System, or SLiMS, in bibliographic data entry and library material processing at the Universitas Negeri Surabaya Library. This study employed a quantitative descriptive approach using a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires, structured interviews, and observations involving junior expert librarians, skilled librarians, and technical staff from faculty reading rooms. The results indicate that SLiMS supports librarians in bibliographic data entry, cataloging, classification, label printing, barcode creation, and information retrieval. However, the available features have not been utilized optimally. Some librarians still conduct classification, cataloging, and label printing manually. Other challenges include limited understanding of the latest SLiMS features, low awareness of professional development, and inadequate coordination between the university library and faculty reading rooms. These conditions lead to inconsistencies in bibliographic descriptions, delays in collection processing, and difficulties in information retrieval. This study concludes that SLiMS can effectively support bibliographic activities and library material processing when its features are fully utilized and supported by staff competency development and stronger collaboration among library personnel.
