Abstract

Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) is an approach to the teaching of second and foreign languages that stress on functional as well as structural aspects of language, combining these into a more fully communicative view. Learners learn the language used in real life by using target language in the classroom. It is appropriate to use communicative approach in teaching and learning language. It can make students able to communicate effectively in target language based on structural, functional and social meaning. In this paper, I will present communicative language teaching versus whole language teaching; structural, functional and social meaning of language; and classroom activities used in communicative language teaching.

Abstract

This article aims to discuss the shift in the methodology of Qur’anic learning in Indonesia that is influenced by media. There are four cases used to map the contestations in the traditional era: Baghdadi, Qiroati, Iqro ', and Yanbu'a. Those have the same characteristic, namely face-to-face learning which is then challenged by the new media that infiltrate the Islamic world. One of the new media described in this paper is the Qur’anCall that is initiated by the PPPA Daarul Qur’an led by the famous preacher Yusuf Mansur. This is a learning and teaching platform for the Qur'an based on a video call. The character possessed by the Qur’anCall is very different from the traditional methodology. Based on this issue, the author examines the changes in Qur’anic learning in the traditional and modern eras then elaborates the effects that have caused. The finding shows that there are degradations from various performative aspects which are inherent in the traditional methods of Qur’anic learning. Furthermore, the authority of the Qur’anic teacher who was once held by the Qur'anic experts can be in the hands of people with low qualifications.

Abstract

Knowledge integration has been studied as the process of incorporating new informa- tion into a body of existing knowledge with an interdisciplinary approach. Language is not only the object of scientific study of linguistics, but also the object of study of other related disciplines. The importance of language in many studies and disciplines of knowl- edge has led to its status as a condition sin qua non to true understanding of other scientific objects of disciplines of knowledge. The mastery of Arabic language for ex- ample is a must for the study of Islamic religious texts. The religion of Islam places language on a very high position that it is explicitly mentioned in the Quran as one of the signs of the existence of God.

Abstract

Pengajaran kitab turats sebagai salah satu komponen pesantren menjadi karakteristik utama Pondok Pesantren Ibnul Amin Puteri (PPIAP) Dzuriat K.H. Mahfuz Amin Pamangkih. Penguasaan kitab turats merupakan sarana untuk tafaqquh fî ad-dîn. Ilmu alat dan mufradât bagi pesantren ini dianggap sebagai alat utama untuk menguasai kitab turats. Penggunaan bahasa Melayu dalam pengajaran kitab turats dapat memudahkan santriwati memahami dan menguasai alat utama tersebut. Meskipun bahasa Melayu tampak unik dan janggal jika dipadankan dengan bahasa Indonesia sekarang, penggunaan bahasa Melayu ternyata berkontribusi besar bagi pemahaman santriwati terhadap gramatika dan kosakata bahasa Arab. Tulisan ini ditujukan untuk menguak keberterimaan bahasa Melayu dalam pengajaran kitab turast di PPIAP Dzuriat K.H. Mahfuz Amin Pamangkih.

Abstract

This study examines the use of liberal principles in Husein Muhammad's works on Quranic interpretation which are found when uses new concepts of the Sciences of the Qur’an.  This new concept is used as an ontological view when he interprets Qur'anic verses regarding human rights and gender relations. The liberal principles that Husein Muhammad uses have clear parameters and do not neglect the basic rules of interpretation itself. Through a qualitative approach with descriptive method, research on literature and interviews, this study confirms that the liberal principles used by Husein Muhammad, in addition to using gender justice analysis, are also produced among others through a re-understanding of the rules of interpretation such as asbuz nuzul, nāsikh mansūkh, ta`wīl, muhkam-mutasyābih, makkiyah madāniyyah. The redefinition of the rules of interpretation is then used as the basis when he makes the interpretation of the Qur'an so that the results of the interpretation are different when compared to interpretations that have been developed among Muslims. As a result, his interpretation is not only laden with religious messages, but also becomes part of the expression of feminist kiyai identity in the development of interpretations in Indonesia.

Abstract

Learning strategy is an important factor in improving the quality of learning . In connection with the use of learning strategies , teachers need to be careful in the selection of strategies that will be used . This study aimed to describe the use of learning strategies by students on field practice MI Muhajirin Banjarmasin . Data was collected by observation . The analysis used is descriptive qualitative approach . Based on the analysis of data obtained from this study , it can be concluded that the ability to use learning strategies maahasiswa PPL II participants in MI Al Muhajirin can be quite good.Key words : Learning strategy and practice to teaching

Abstract

Abstract: This paper aims to analyze the social interaction among the religious elites in Palangka Raya. The focus of this writing was the patterns of interaction among the religious elites, the encouraging factors of interaction, and the implications of interaction among the religious communities towards the social life among the religious communities in Palangka Raya. This research is a field research using a qualitative method. The data was collected through observation and interview. It was concluded that the interaction among the religious elites in Palangka Raya was supported by the integrative strengths which enable the harmonious relationship among the religious elites. These integrative strengths were the cultural values which have rooted and have been inherited to the next generations, especially to Dayak society. The religious difference in Dayak culture is not seen as the opposing form, but as a human right and a personal choice of each person. On this level the patterns of interaction which will be formed is integrative solidarity. The harmonious relationship among the religious elites then has implications towards the social life among the religious communities. These implicationswere the realization of the harmonious and collaborative relationships among the religious communities in Palangka Raya.  Paper ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis interaksi sosial antara elit agama di Palangka Raya. Fokus kajian dalam tulisan ini terkait dengan pola interaksi elit agama, faktor pendorong interaksi, dan implikasi interaksi antara elit agama terhadap kehidupan sosial antar umat beragama di Kota Palangka Raya.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian lapangan dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif.Untuk memperoleh data dilakukan dengan observasi dan wawancara.Hasil temuan dapat disimpulkan bahwa interaksi antarelit agama di Kota Palangka Raya ditopang oleh kekuatan integratif yang memungkinkan terjadinya hubungan harmonis antara elit agama.Kekuatan integratif tersebut adalah nilai-nilai budaya yang telah mengakar dan diwariskan secara turun-temurun khususnya pada masyarakat Dayak. Perbedaan agama dalam budaya Dayak tidak dipandang sebagai bentuk pertentangan, tetapi sebagai hak asasi dan pilihan pribadi setiap orang. Pada tataran ini pola interaksi yang akan terbentuk adalah bersifat solidaritas integratif. Hubungan yang harmonis antara elit agama kemudian berimplikasi pada kehidupan sosial antarumat beragama di Palangka Raya. Implikasi tersebut terutawa terwujudnya hubungan yang harmonis dan kolaboratif antarumat beragama di Palangka Raya.

Abstract

Tulisan mi berusaha rnengkaji beberapa metode yang digunakan oleh para ahli antropologi dalam memahami pelbagai gejala keagamaan di masyarakat. Jika kita ingin mengeksplorasi suatu agama, maka kita udak akan lepas dan dua dimensi, yakni dimensi historis dan dimens normatif. Dalam dimens nonnatif, manusia akan mengakui akan adanya suatu yang trasendental, mutlak dan universal. Inilah realitas ketuhanan. Namun dari segi historis, agama tidaklepasdari unsurpenganumya yangbergerakdalam ruang dan waktu. Agama dalam konteks ini terangkai oleh kehidupan pemeluknya. Karena itu pemahaman manusia terhadap yang trasendental tidak pemah sama persis seperti yang dikehendaki-Nya, itulah reahtas ketuhanan dan kemanusiaan.

Abstract

Imam Syafi’i merupakan tokoh multi keilmuan di bidang keislaman. Ia  menguasai sastra, tafsir, hadis, fiqh, ushul fiqh dan lainnya. Bahkan untuk bidang keilmuan yang disebut terakhir, ia dipandang sebagai peletak dan  penyusun bidang kajian ushul. Namun di atas segalanya, ia adalah pendiri mazhab al-Syafi’i yang banyak dianut oleh mayoritas masyarakat muslim di dunia termasuk di Indonesia. Di antara karyanya yang fenomenal di bidang fiqih adalah kitab al-Umm. Dalam penulisan kitabnya, Imam al-Syafi’i menggunakan sistematika penulisan berdasarkan tema tertentu dan selanjutnya menguraikan bahasannya dalam bentuk bab dan sub-bab bahasan. Dalam mengistinbat hukum, Imam al-Syafi’i menggunakan dalil al-Qur’an terlebih dahulu baru kemudian hadis dan qias. Terdapat beragam pandangan terkait keaslian kitab al-Umm sebagai karya Imam al-Syafi’i namun pendapat yang kuat bahwa kitab tersebut adalah karya al-Syafi’i meski tidak ditulis langsung olehnya.
