Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe multi-item ordering method (Goyal, 1974) by providing a complete information of algorithm on each step. The journal itself doesn’t contain sufficient information on its example, and there is an error on a simple calculation. We observed a pulp manufacturer as raw material for making paper, tissue, printing paper and non-printing paper. There were 3 materials that purchased from a supplier and had been overstock in 2016. The materials will be examined by this method in order to reduce overstock. The results are shows that there is about 91% of the total inventory cost discrepancy between that period of total inventory cost and these methods of total inventory cost. This cost saving can be used for other investigation, for example, Indonesian Ritel Obligation or stock exchange.

Abstract

Nitinol is a form of alloy used for shaping memory applications because of its good mechanical properties and stable shape memory effect. The microstructure and transformation temperature is influenced by aging treatment, composition, and addition of elements to the alloy. This study explained the effect of aging treatment on the characteristic of Nitinol. The shape memory alloy with Ti-50.04 % at Ni composition was solution treated at 1000 oC for 1 hour and quenched in water, then aged in temperature of 500 oC, 550 oC, 600 oC, 650 oC and 700 oC for 10 hours. The microstructure was investigated using Scanning Electron Microscopy and mechanical property such as Vickers method. Transformation temperature was measured using resistance measurement technique. The result of microstructure observation showed that the martensitic phase was arranged by lamellar plates which tend to be softer in aging temperature, and the hardness decreased in aging temperature near 600OC - 700OC. The martensitic transformation temperature increased about 4 oC after aging process at 500 oC for 10 hours, but while aging temperature was near 500 oC – 700 oC, there was no significant change of the transformation temperature. Keywords: Shape Memory Alloy, Aging, Nitinol, Martensitic

Abstract

PT SKF Indonesia which is one of the largest manufacturing companies in Indonesia produced various types of Bearing 6201. There are many failures in the production process that reduces the function of Bearing. To be able to meet consumer desires and to prevent or eliminate failures, companies need to make improvement programs that can minimize the failure rate which is the implementation of Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and the use of fuzzy logic. The purpose of this study is to analyze the proportion of defects and process capability in assembly, analyzing potential failures, identify root causes of defects, and calculate the value of the highest RPN. In addition, to create improvement plans based on the highest RPN. The data used based on data occurred during October 2010. Based on the data processing using fuzzy FMEA method, found that the failure rate of occurrence of defects per day amounted to 1.005%. For the Cp value is equal to 1.29 and Cpk of 1.22. Types of failures that occur in the process are Noise, Shoemark, Black Surface and Wedge. RPN values obtained from the results using conventional methods and fuzzy FMEA is basically the same. From the results obtained the highest ranking RPN calculation for this type of failure Noise. To seek improvements in the quality of disability Noise, prepared improvement plans using 5W-1H for the human, material, environment, methods, and machinery. Improvement plans to minimize the amount of noise is to give training to the employees. There is need for the inspection process by sampling the incoming raw materials to add lights at points that are important in the production room, always pay attention when the lamp is die and replace it with a new, in the preparation of OR and IR components must be aligned, sticking posters in the work area that contains the image the correct way up, schedule an examination 1 week once the machine is known engine or not feasible to use, and optimize preventive maintenance. Keywords: Failure Process, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, Fuzzy Logic, Fuzzy FMEA, RPN

Abstract

The problem of stress is sometimes unconsciously influence the way a worker thinks. Job stress can have a positive or negative impact for a worker. If excessive stress it will have negative and if the stress is still within normal limits, then the stress can trigger the motivation of workers. In this research, it will be discussed will be the relationship between stress and worker motivation whether significant or not, and will also be discussed about the influence of both stress factors related to the organization or not. Stress factors associated with organizations that are determined in this research are the workload and work environment. Stress factors that are not related to the organization is the type of personality and family. The workload is too heavy will make workers become frustrated and lose motivation of workers. Vice versa if the workload is too light then the worker will experience a saturation that is also not motivated to work. This research will also be discussed further factor which affects the motivation of workers. Research suggests that stress variables have a significant relationship with motivation variables. This is done with regression testing and also correlation with several methods. Figures generated R square is for 0.504 which means the 50.4% contribution in terms of stress variables affecting motivation variable while 49.6% influenced other factors. The research results are obtained also found that internal stress factors or office stress factors related to the organization over affect the motivation of workers rather than stress factors unrelated to the organization. It also found that more office internal stress factors play a role in influencing workers' job stress. In addition, correlation of test results found places correlation between workload and working environment with the motivation was for 0.708 and for the type of personality and family is at 0.485 so that internal stress factors play a role in affecting the office worker motivation.
