Abstract

The film “Autobiography” was inspired by the director's own experience and dissatisfaction with a system that imposed strict adherence to norms. The objective of this study is to examine the cinematographic components of the film titled “Autobiography”. This study employs a qualitative approach to observation, utilising cinematographic theory and the Blain Brown technique to examine and analyse autobiographical videos. The analysis focuses on three key elements of cinematographic theory: frame, light, colour, and movement. The findings of this study demonstrate that the film use the frame-within-frame approach to portray a more self-absorbed character. Additionally, the film utilises numerous close-up shots and low-angle techniques to depict a more amiable figure. The film utilises practical components and natural light extensively in its lighting design, creating a heightened sense of realism that enhances the audience's immersion. This picture employs a dark colour palette to enhance its air of mystery. This is demonstrated by the transition of the colour sign from green to red. The camera movement techniques of stationary, tracking, countermove, reveal, zoom in, and tilting up/down are employed to provide dramatic and stressful components in the process of capturing photographs.

Abstract

Most people in Indonesia do not know that the oldest temple in Indonesia is in Karawang Regency. The design of the Webtoon "Unur Batu" was made with the hope that it can be an educational material that introduces the public to the Temple Complex in Batujaya, Karawang Regency. The typography on the narration and sound effects uses the Lafayette Comic Pro, Badaboom BB, and BD Cartoon Shout fonts, while the typography on the logo uses the Know Your Product font. The promotional strategies used include video reels and printed promotional media in the form of merchandise.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how painting therapy can reduce the level of depression in adolescents. This study used an experimental method with a Single Subject Research (SSR) design. The research subjects were teenagers who experienced depression. This study uses an A-B-A design. This design can show a causal relationship between the independent variable and the dependent variable. The results of the study showed that the score and the average level of depression in adolescents with painting interventions decreased depression. The average value of the depression level at Baseline-1 (A-1) is 66.7%. At the Intervention stage (B) it decreased to (40%), then it decreased again at the Baseline-2 (A-2) stage, namely to (26.7%). This study proves that painting can reduce depression in adolescents, then behavioral observations are carried out, that adolescents are able to express the problems they face through painting activities. Painting also trains teenagers to grow their self-confidence, because teenagers are given the freedom to express what they want without feeling burdened.

Abstract

The creation of this final project focuses on the theme of the Honeybee (Apis mellifera) as the inspiration for contemporary keris creation, specifically the keris dhapur Lebah Madu. This project aims to produce keris that reflect the characteristics, values, and philosophical aspects of the Honeybee. The Honeybee is an intriguing subject for a final project, visualized through gold-engraved motifs on the keris blade. The method for this final project involves a three-stage, six-step creation process, consisting of exploration, planning, and realization stages. The exploration stage includes observation, literature review, and interviews. The planning stage involves creating alternative sketches and working drawings. The realization stage includes the preparation of tools and materials, blade making, warangka (sheath) making, hilt making, mendak (hilt ring) making, pendok (sheath cover) making, and antup (decorative cover) making. This final project results in the creation of three keris titled: keris dhapur Madukara, keris dhapur Bhirawa, and keris dhapur Tala Kencana. The selection of the Honeybee's characteristics as the motif idea, using the tinatah technique applied to the keris ricikan (details), is expected to add aesthetic value to each dhapur (design) of the keris.

Abstract

Due to the existence of the fast fashion industry and companies that produce clothes quickly and offer them at relatively affordable prices, the accumulation of textile waste has become a pollution problem. As clothing production increases, unused fabric scraps are generated. The waste produced is often not utilized properly and ends up in landfills. Many people use leftover fabric to make various types of models. However, the results obtained from using leftover fabric materials are rarely applied in many activities, because the designs obtained from using leftover fabric materials are not suitable for everyday use. Therefore, this design advances the development of shoulder bag design. Using the patchwork technique to manage fabric scraps makes it easier to combine materials. We chose denim fabric to complement the design and create a casual and unique shoulder bag design. That way, products made using leftover fabric can be used by everyday users.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the process of making the Rafflesia Arnoldii flower pattern decoration and to find out the finished results of applying the Rafflesia Arnoldii flower pattern decoration on the waistbag and highlighting the characteristics of Bengkulu. The theme of the creation of this work of art is the Rafflesia Arnoldii flower pattern because it has a visually stunning shape that makes it unique from other flowers. It has an attraction, most people like this flower because of its shape, size and unique way of life. Lives in the tropical rainforests of Sumatra; Therefore, Bengkulu Province is nicknamed "Land of Rafflesia Arnoldii". It is a symbol of Bengkulu Province because it is very rare and must be protected. The method used is a three-stage design process, one of the stages is creative exploration. From the results obtained, the Rafflesia Arnoldii flower pattern can be used as a detail for the waistbag design. The aesthetic value of this waist bag design is not only for a sporty and masculine style appearance, but also for a feminine and elegant appearance with the addition of the Rafflesia Arnoldii flower pattern so that it becomes a waist bag design with aesthetic value that can be enjoyed by everyone and becomes an innovative design product with exploratory design. The concept created by adding added value in the form of Bengkulu characteristics is expected to create new market opportunities for waistbag products.

Abstract

This study uses interior settings as time indicators in the series Sabtu Bersama Bapak. The main objective of this study is to describe the artistic elements found in the interior settings, especially decorations and properties, which represent a certain period in the visual narrative. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method to produce a structured, detailed, and in-depth explanation of how visual elements play a role in strengthening the temporal context of the story. The analysis was carried out on several main settings in the series, namely the 1980s setting represented through Itje's house and Pak Edi's house, the 1990s setting shown in Gunawan's house, and the 2022 setting seen in Saka's office and Satya's house. Through this approach, the study aims to provide insight into the importance of the accuracy and precision of visual details as an integral part of building the atmosphere of the era, while strengthening the narrative power in film and television production.

Abstract

Muhammad Sulthoni or often called Thoni Konde, is an artist who creates glass gamelan works who lives in the city of Solo. The glass gamelan he created was made from waste glass materials found around him. Konde together with people in several cities make and play the glass gamelan on various occasions. Not only creating glass gamelan, Konde aspires to create a glass gamelan festival which will feature glass gamelan performances from the communities he supports. The Muria Raya Festival Foundation (FMR) through the FMR #4 collaborated with Konde and the Muria community together to create "Gatotkaca" (Total Glass Gamelan), a gamelan made entirely of glass, which was then exhibited and played at the peak of the event FMR #4. The author then recorded this innovative and monumental activity in a digital flipbook which compactly and comprehensively displays photos and videos of the track record of Gatotkaca's creation journey which can be accessed via the website page. It is hoped that this creation will be a trigger for Konde and FMR to continue organizing documentation data digitally so that in the future it can be used as a media for promotion and representation of oneself and the organization. In creating this digital flipbook, the Alessi and Trollip model development research method was used which was modified according to research needs, through stages (1) planning; (2) design; and (3) development. Field studies are carried out through documentation, interviews and observations.

Abstract

This research talked about “Bugis Wedding Tradition” by Andy Adryan Mallaena, analyzed through a qualitative approach using Erwin Panofsky’s theory of iconography. The aim of this study is to identify the artistic motifs, themes, concepts, and symbolic values present in the artwork. The results of this research are: a pre-iconographic description that provides an initial textual response, revealing two grasshopper-like figures depicted in a traditional Bugis wedding procession. The iconographic analysis explores the theme and concept of the uang panai social phenomenon, which has shifted in meaning from a sacred tradition to a transactional practice. The iconological interpretation addresses the symbolic values conveyed in the painting. Through the painter's psychological tendencies, inner turmoil, and his socio-cultural background, the painting emerges as a symbolic crystallization of the contradiction between loyalty to cultural roots and the ever-evolving social reality.

Abstract

The background of working on this project is that the Senggani plant has a high availability compared to other shrubs.This plant has not used enough, so batik using natural dyes from the fruit Senggani needs to be developed. Senggani natural dye is used as a dye for hand-written batik. The development of visual processing of the motifs of Senggani plants with deformation styling.The material used is silk shiffon. The problem in this design is how to use Senggani fruit as a natural dye for hand-written batik for shawls, from these problems the resulting color and techniques are processed with attractive and maximum visual development.The process of creating works is adapted to several aspects of the design, namely aspects of function, aesthetic aspects,material aspects and aspects of the production process. These four aspects must be related to one another. The process of visualizing this design goes through several stages, namely design processing, color extraction, cloth memordan,mola,batik,coloring,colorfixation,nemboki and pelorodan.Based on the design process carried out, the results show that Senggani fruit can be used as an alternative to natural dyes for batik,and its shape can be used as inspiration for the batik motif itself.
