Abstract

The creation of this final project with the title The Role of Mothers in the Family as a source of inspiration for the creation of a painting was created to fulfill the requirements as an art scholar in the Indonesian Art Institute of Surakarta. mothers in educating children at this time, where there are facts faced by teenagers who deviate from existing norms. So that the negative impact of the behavior of teenagers is not widespread, then a mother must go directly to parenting children in shaping children's moral education. In the process of creating this final project through several stages, including the stages of idea creation, formulation of the concept of the creator and the realization of the work. The selected objects are human forms, puppets, dancers and other supporting objects. Processed according to the chosen style, namely figurative expressiveness, coloring using monochrome colors, namely black and white.

Abstract

The creation of this final project entitled The Struggle for the School Period as an Inspiration for the Creation of Painting Art is a response to the author's experience of being part of rural children who have dreams of studying in a big city. The limit of the discussion is on the struggle of a child in an underprivileged family, determined to study at the SMK level in Solo, which tends to require a lot of money than school in the village. The struggle for the school period is a form of effort to complete the study period smoothly even though there are constraints. The purpose of the creation of this final project is to create a work of art that painting inspiration from the struggles of the school period by explaining the concept of its creation, the process of its creation and the meaning of the artwork created. The creation of works refers to the three stages of creation proposed by Herman Von Helmholtz, including the stages of collecting facts, data and sansation, the deposition stage and the stage of expressing the form of an artwork. This final project produces six works of decorative-surrealistic painting that emphasize visual forms by cultivating stylization, deformation and transformation using acrylic paint on canvas media and using plaque and sungging techniques as ideas for color processing.Keywords: school period struggle, painting, decorative-surrealistic, sungging

Abstract

The village is the main buffer of the city's culture. The stretching of the village community in developing the potential of human resources and the environment is something that is vital in the development of the city itself. The awareness of citizens to move independently to improve the quality of life is achieved through the arts. This paper wants to describe the collective awareness of residents in Purwodiningratan village in managing the empty space in the alleys of their village. Through the mural art, it is hoped that it can serve as a reminder of how to think and behave, as well as being a connector for traditional values and culture, so that the younger generation always has a foothold in projecting themselves into the future.

Abstract

The research was meant to see through deeper about the signs that resides within the main actors’s costumes of Sunshine Becomes You as the fashion of Generation Z. The reseach method is descriptive and use Roland Barthes’s semiotic analysis about the denotative and connotative value of the signs. The conclusion of this research shows according to the signs from the main actors’s costume from Sunshine Becomes You that Generation Zs has a mindset of how very important look is for them, tend to be practice and instant behaviours, love freedom and high self-confidence, and also eagerly need for self-approvement from their society.

Abstract

In this research the author emphasizes how relief print techniques as a medium for duplication in propaganda poster works are able to present artistic beauty that has distinctive characteristics and is also able to provide awareness to those who see it. The reason the writer is interested in relief print techniques as a means of duplicating propaganda posters is because if you look at the history of relief print, its role wasvery important during the struggle, especially as a medium for duplicating posters of the struggle. Until now, relief print has also been used as a media for duplicating environmental criticism posters to awaken and as a means of education about the importance of protecting this environment. This writing aims to explore further about high printing techniques as a medium for duplication of environmental criticismpropaganda posters as a form of awareness and education about the environment, it turns out that graphic art is not only a form of art that has aesthetic value, but can also be a medium for duplication. The results of this paper are expected to be able to provide benefits in order to enrich the repertoire of graphic arts, especially relief print techniques.

Abstract

The main idea behind the creation of this artworks is inspired by the visual form of the Surakarta masks. This concept was chosen because the Surakarta masks has a variety of shapes, colors, functions, and characters that are different and interesting for the source of ideas for the creation of batik motif, such as the masks of Panji Inu Kertapati, Dewi Sekartaji, Klana Sewandana, Gunungsari, and Jaya Kartolo. This final project aims to create women's casual outfit by applying the Surakarta masks as the basic idea in creating the artworks. The Surakarta mask's scope gives rise to ideas to be developed into the creation of written batik motif. The process of creating works starts from the exploration stage, which is observing the shape of the Surakarta masks and then pouring it into the design stage of an alternative design to be selected as a batik motif to be applied to casual outfit. The last stage is the embodiment stage, in this process starting from making a dress pattern, painting on a patterned fabric for casual cloth, batik, painting dyeing, sewing and finishing. The coloring technique used in the creation process is the technique dabbing using remasol dyes. The materials and tools used were wax, canting, remasol, waterglass, silk cotton, and satin fabric bridal. As the result of my final project, there are 5 women's casual outfits, each named according to the characters of the Surakarta mask. The first artworks entitled Lelanange Jagad (Handsome Man), the second entitled Kirana (Moonlight), the third entitled Ahengkara (Roam), the fourth entitled Sajjana (Immortal), and the last artworks entitled Warada (Strong). This design results an innovation to preserve Surakarta mask art culture and also the traditional art of batik in the fashion sector.

Abstract

The creation of the painting in this final project was inspired by the life of the artist's family who believed that the joy of children was important in giving a positive impact on their lives. Happiness is the right of every human being, including children, regardless of their family background and the problems they are facing. The joy of children while playing is the main concern and is used as an idea in the creation of paintings. While the expression of the joy of children when playing, interacting, and socializing among them in the open is a concept that will be offered in this painting, with the hope that it can be a place to express ideas as well as be a lesson about the importance of having fun for children from an early age. The artist uses a method consisting of several stages, namely observation, incubation, documentation, and others. In its realization, several processes are carried out, namely making sketches of shapes, color blocking, working on details, finishing touches, and then packaging presentations to be presented in the form of exhibitions.

Abstract

This research takes the title Reprogramming Interior of Micro Houses as the Impact of Adapting New Habits in the New Normal Era. This applied research as an effort to reprogram the interior of residential houses,especially homes with limited land (micro houses) is an urgent verb to be carried out immediately to savethe smallest environment in the community against the dangers of a pandemic and the possibility of further outbreak movements.The problem formulation in applied research is 1) Why is interior reprogramming as a result of changes in human behavior in the new normal era needed to prevent the transmission of Covid 19 in the community? 2) How is interior design thinking reprogramming to find the basic concepts of residential interiors that are in accordance with the adaptation of habits in the new normal era? and 3) How is the interior design of residential houses in the new normal era? The purpose of the research is to find the concept of interior programming as a basis for planning residential interiors that are in accordance with the adaptation of new habits and COVID 19 health protocols in the New Normal era. This applied research is a qualitative research with analytical descriptive with design thinking approach. The designsolving approach uses a functional, ergonomic, technical and Covid 19 health protocol approach that is centered on the user center or users. The results of the research that will be achieved in interior design are: identification of the causes and needs for Reprogramming Interior of Micro Residential Houses as the Impact of Adapting New Habits in the New Normal era.

Abstract

Violence from parents and violence from the immediate environment at the age of children causes them to become children who are easily afraid of sounds (Verbal), fear of physical violence (objects), and fear of the immediate environment. This final artwork project aims to create a sculpture art with the theme of the memory of a child's fear, which also explains the concept and process of creation and also the visual aesthetics of sculpture. The shape of the memory of children's fear is portrayed in the media of sculpture art with cast printing techniques. The creation of sculpture in this final project provides more insight into empirical experiences in creating works of art as well as the deepening of concepts in children's memory of fears.

Abstract

  Art therapy is one type of the therapy which done through a creative process on the creation of a work of art as an effort to relieve the inner conflicts or repressed emotions in someone who suffers from health  problem  such  as  mental  illness.  The  aim  of  this  study  project  under  the  title  “Painting  as  Self- Therapy for Mental Illness” is to create an abstract  paintings based on inner experience as self-therapy for mental illness. In addition, the act of counseling routinely with a psychiatrist and drug therapy is being undertaken by the author. In this study project, the author creates a painting in an abstract-expressionistic style that is direct and spontaneous, with or without special considerations regarding the application of the visual concept of painting in his work, providing the author’s subjectivity in his work can be fulfilled absolutely. The abstract painting itself really emphasizes the expression of emotions through free strokes, line and colors which that is appropriate or suitable for art therapy medium; by using ink and acrylic paint on various types of paper such as; linen paper, recycled paper, and watercolor paper. The author also uses the direct method on painting the creative works or the paintings done by the act of spontaneously, quickly, and full of intuition with either wet or dry techniques. From the process of making this study project, the author was able to produce hundreds of works which later those selected, sorted, and arranged into a panel or an independent painting which concluded into total of 14 works with spontaneous, firm, textural, and magical line expressions. Through art therapy by working on abstract-expressionism style of painting, the author feels the psychological impact which leads into an atmosphere of happy inner-self, a relief, becomes more passionate, and a calmness which drives to organize life more optimistically, and also it is able to relieve the worries and pain that the author feels.
