Abstract

Elephants are known as the most large-sized animals among the animals that live on land. With its large, forhumans are considered capable of representing the meaning of grandeur. This is evidenced by the many worksinspired by the elephant. In the creation of the artwork, the authors attempt stylized elephant shape in the form ofa set of rancakan gamelan gadhon, with the intention of adding value majesty of the gamelan instruments.Rancakan gamelan is part of the buffer strip, as well as a resonance tube that allows the blades gamelan aregenerally made of metal can cause a melodious voice. Rancakan form of gamelan gadhon the author createdcomes from the shape of elephants, with the intention to increase the strength of philosophical and aestheticquality is visually distinct from the common gamelan in the palace and in the community . Gamelan gadhon a termof simplifying the number of devices gamelan instruments with a practical purpose in mobility and performancegoals are simple tone composition. Generally gamelan gadhon meant to be played softly as accompanist anevent. Gamelan gadhon generally have five ricikan the form of gender, slenthem, kendang, gambang, and rebab.However, the author makes a set of gamelan gadhon consisting of: kendang ciblon, gender barung, gambang,slenthem, rebab, demung, saron, peking, and gongs kemodhong. It was intended for gamelan gadhon made tobe played more varied in character as well as working on the musical sound . Gamelan blades generally made ofiron, brass, or bronze . Each of the blade material will form its own tone shades. In this case, the authorsconducted an experiment to make blades gamelan using the prestige. Commonly found on the prestige of keris,spears, swords, blades and other traditional weapons. The prestige of a blend of iron and nickel through theprocess of forging and annealed complex. Making blades gamelan with prestige materials intended to add uniquevalue, so that a set of gamelan gadhon made into a unified work of creative and innovative, full of philosophicaland aesthetic values visually.Keywords: elephant, rancakan, gamelan, pamor

Abstract

Abstract

Reading Activity is very important for human being. More over the information century today, human being is given information almost without interval. Repeat study is needed to old pattern, including reading. Reading is not only stop on verbal words to get the meaning from information which go to and from that. Because information can appear in manner of word language and aspect language. Both of them have the way of different expression. Therefore the reading will be different. Word language has the established grammatical pattern. While the aspect language has the design imagination that work with lines, area, colour, texture and also size and dimension. Taking just one of them will destroy or weaken the totality of human being absorpsion of information. Abstract

As a social creature, man need of communication with another. The changing and developing of social role can’t be separated with a well balanced communication factor between man with the creator, man with man, and man with another human beings.Batik as one of man cultural product is also the form of communication expression that learned by our parents through cloth media with resistance by using hot candle (malam) or using a tool called “canthing”.The existance of Batik in Java can’t be separated with a way of life, that believed its true by Javanese people. As people having local genius, Javanese people can’t create Batik as one of visual communication media between Javanese people as cultural product creator with the creator as a source of all power. The creators of variety decoration of Batik, a long ago, not early created a beautiful in viewing thing but also gave a meaning that had a close relationship with their way of life. They created a decoration variation with a pure massage and a high hope. A hope that they wanted is by wearing Batik with certain motive is hoped it will bring a goodness and happiness for them. These are painted beautifully and symbolically and full of meaning.As a communication media of Javanese people, Batik can keep exist as one of cultural product that have a high praise and keep get a place in the people.Key words : Batik, culture product, communication

Abstract

Expression is a process or result of someone’s or a group of people’s activity in expressing desires, in reacting on the existing reality or wants by using a medium.Basically expresison is a symbol of communication with other people as a sym­bol has meaning and values. Abstract

This art works research entitled: “Environment Imaging by Virtual Reality Photography” aims to obtain an appropriate technique to take a 360 degree photography and to get a photography that can image the environment virtually, so that it can be developed in advanced application as an interactive visual element and to be appealing in interactive CD or website.This study was conducted in the form of technological experimentation and image technique in virtual reality manner. The result of research shows that the photography making of VR panorama requires the good mastery of photography technique through proper engineering of photography equipment and various photography technical experiments and digital imaging mastery and image developing by multimedia authoring technology, particularly with Virtual Reality software. And the VR panorama photography can create a more comprehensive environment because in its enjoyment it involves hands, eyes and even ears, hence creating the integration of physical, immersive and enjoyable activities.Keywords: Imaging, Environment, Virtual, Reality, Photography

Abstract

Lifestyle is one of the popular term in global and modern world. Their appearance does not necessarily exist, but is supported by the habitus and image of that shaped it. Any individual or group has always wanted to show his identity through their chosen lifestyle. One of them is by using a particular clothing. Since the first in the Java culture, batik is used by the kingdom as a marker of status, and are realized or not the kingdom was applied a certain lifestyle. As age advances, now lifestyle wear clothing with a particular motif widely followed by the community. There are some ideological contradictions associated with the development of lifestyle by using the batik in Indonesia. On the one side, batik as a lifestyle is the result of capitalist production which have a conflict within it, and the other side, batik as a lifestyle is a form of creativity necessary for social and cultural progress.

Abstract

Aksara menjadi salah satu bentuk komunikasi yang pada akhirnya memperkuat jadi diri dan identitas suatubangsa. Hanacaraka juga digunakan untuk menulis bahasa-bahasa lainnya, selain bahasa Jawa, misalnyabahasa Sanskerta, bahasa Arab, bahasa Bali, bahasa Sunda, bahasa Madura, bahasa Sasak dan jugabahasa Melayu. Hanacaraka dalam karakter font dan aplikasinya dianggap sebagai tema yang menarik.Jejak rupa Hanacaraka dapat ditemukan dalam prasasti, kesusastraan, teknologi, dan aplikasinya dalambrand image. Hanacaraka dalam aplikasi ini masih dalam pengembangan. Karakter huruf Jawa jika lengkapdikembangkan dapat mencapai 400 karakter. Dengan digitalisasi aksara Jawa saat ini telah membukapeluang yang sangat besar untuk memajukan dan mengembangkan aksara Jawa secara fungsional disegala bidang.Kata Kunci: Hanacaraka, Font, Brand Image
