Abstract

Gestational hypertension (GH) adverse effects on pregnancy and fetal development, but there are still a few non-pharmacological interventions that can control blood pressure. The study aimed to examine the impact of acumoxa therapy on reducing blood pressure among patients with GH. Thirty-four patients were admitted to three community health centers in Brebes Regency. They were selected and randomly divided into two groups, such as the experimental group and the control group. This study's participation was pregnant women randomly allocated to the experimental group (n= 17) and control group (n=17). The intervention group received acumoxa therapy. The control group received acupressure therapy at the same time of 5 minutes at each point in 3 sessions per week for four weeks. The points used between the intervention and control groups were almost the same. Acupoints HT 7 and LI11 are given acumoxa and acupressure. Point GV20 is only covered by pressure, and point KI3 is only moxibustion. Of the 34 women who completed the study, those who received acumoxa had significantly lower mean arterial pressure (MAP) (mean difference = 8 mmHg, p<0.05). Acumoxa therapy is an effective non-pharmacological method for reducing blood pressure in patients with gestational hypertension

Abstract

Lack of knowledge of mothers on the importance of iron tablet consumption impact on compliance. So that the iron requirement is not fulfilled and the effect of anemia. Countermeasures to raise awareness and behavior to increase hemoglobin levels. Educational modules consisted of information regarding pregnancy and the importance of anemia Fe tablet consumption. The study aimed to examine the effect of the anemia management module to change mothers' behavior in improving hemoglobin levels. A quasi-experimental study pretest-posttest with a non-equivalent control group was applied in this study, with a purposive sampling technique, where the intervention and control groups, respectively, 14 people. The data were analyzed using an independent t-test. Furthermore, to determine the effect of continued modules using linear regression. The intervention effect on knowledge, attitudes, actions by the p-value of 0.00, but it does not directly influence HB's p-value 0.231 (> 0.05). With its application for 30 days with biweekly visits, the anemia management module effectively changes the mother's behavior to improve knowledge, attitudes, actions, and modules that do not directly influence Hb's increase. Use of the anemia management module as companion media education of health workers, especially in the range of PHC

Abstract

The high degree of HIV transmission in the MSM circles resulted from the risky sexual behaviors. The study aimed to describe the behavioral intervention innovation to reduce sexual risk behavior among HIV-Positive MSM. This literature study was conducted to identify behavioral intervention innovations among HIV-Positive MSM. Articles were retrieved from Wiley Online, ProQuest, and ScienceDirect databases. The keywords used were behavioral Intervention, sexual risk behavior, and HIV-Positif MSM. The articles were limited based on inclusion criteria: English language full-text articles have been published from 2010 to 2019. Research studies also included several study design types, including a quasi-experimental study, a randomized control trial (RCT), and mixed-method design. Based on the research results on the selected journal, it is known that there is a wide range of behavioral therapy Innovations as an intervention carried out to reduce the sexual risk behavior among HIV-Positive MSM. Several interventions enhance the knowledge about HIV among HIV-Positive MSM, including integrated community and clinic-based intervention, Internet application, small group intervention, social network intervention, the treatment advocacy program, and brief Internet-based group intervention. In addition, man to man Sexual Health Seminar, Positive Sexual health  (PoSH),  Men speaking out, and community-based peer education can significantly decrease the sexual risk behavior, increase HIV tests improve attention, and search for health facilities. Behavioral intervention is an intervention that is part of nursing intervention, particularly in the hard-to-reach HIV-Positive MSM, because it is a minority group. With innovations, interventions are made more attractive and more convenient so that they are expected to change behaviors, especially sexual risk behavior that can transmit HIV and sexually transmitted diseases. This behavioral innovation tends to be more effective and can be applied in all countries, including developing countries, to reach all areas like those in Indonesia with extensive regions

Abstract

Women are more at risk to stress in pregnancy than during the puerperium. One method of coping with stress is through physical exercise. Maryam Exercise can be used as an alternative to the development of pregnancy exercises in Indonesia because it covers the holistic aspects and easy to do. It is a combination of basic pregnancy exercises, Islamic prayer (Salat) movements and dhikr.  The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of Maryam exercise on the stress levels and cortisol serum levels among primiparous pregnant women. This study used a quasi-experimental study design, pre-test and post-test with non-equivalent control group. In the third trimester of 40 primiparous women  were randomly assigned into two groups such the experimental group (n=20) and the control group (n=20). The experimental group received the Maryam exercise while the control group received the standard antenatal exercise. There was a significant difference in stress levels between the intervention group and the control group before and after receiving the intervention (p <0.05). The cortisol levels also showed the significance difference between the intervention group and the control group before and after receiving the intervention (p <0.05). The findings of this study suggest that Maryam Exercise has a positive impact on stress levels and cortisol serum levels of primiparous pregnant women.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is a disease that can be prevented through early detection. However, cervical cancer is the fourth leading cause of death for women globally due to the low coverage of cervical cancer screening. An intervention is needed to increase the coverage of cervical cancer screening. This study aimed to provide current evidence of effective interventions to improve cervical cancer screening coverage, especially with low socio-economic conditions. This study uses a systematic design review to review the literature that has been evaluated in a structured, classified, and categorized based on evidence-based previously. The study's inclusion characteristics are as follows: all article searches are limited to those in English or Indonesian only, and scan bibliography to identify relevant articles, method design is RCT studies, or quasi-experiments. The study results found the characteristics of the article as follows: the majority of studies were conducted in the Americas, two studies in Asia, and one in Europe. The respondents' age varied from> 18 years to 75 years; the number of samples ranged from 102 to 12,061 respondents. Interventions were grouped into three types, namely: health education, self-testing, and reminders of the screening schedule. Among the three types of interventions most recommended is counseling with video media, because providing information with exciting media will increase knowledge which will increase women's interest in screening. Independent screening interventions can also increase the coverage of cervical cancer screening in women with low socio-economic conditions because this method allows more savings in funding

Abstract

Correct teeth brushing behavior in elementary school children in Indonesia is 2.8%, and in Central Java, 1.7%. The influencing factor is the lack of information sources, so it is essential to carry out dental and oral health education, "Smart dental card game model" provides learning to children through game methods so that the learning process is more exciting and enjoyable. To produce a gamification-based dental and oral health education model called "Smart dental card game model" to increase dental health maintenance knowledge and decrease the debris index score in elementary school children. Research and development (R&D) and model trials using quasi-experiment pre-test and post-test with control sample design groups were divided into two groups, 28 intervention group students and 28 control group students. The dependent variable is the knowledge and debris index of elementary school students; the independent variable is the Smart dental card game model. The sample size was calculated by using the slovin formula. Data were tested using the interclass correlation coefficient test, Anova, Wilcoxon, Mann Whitney. The smart dental card game was appropriate as a guideline in the learning process to increase elementary school students' knowledge of 2,304 ± 9.07 and reduce the debris index of 0.419 ± 0.68 compared to the control group flipchart media and dental phantom. Smart dental card game is useful to increase dental health maintenance knowledge of elementary school students

Abstract

Anemia is a significant public health problem with a prevalence of about 2 billion around the world.  Consuming the iron (Fe) tablets or foods containing iron were strategies for preventing iron deficiency. Vitamin C or ascorbic acid can increase iron absorption 4-fold, and an amount of 200 mg will increase iron absorption by at least 30%. Guava (Psidium Guajava) and papaya (Carica Papaya Linn) are examples of fruits that contain lots of ascorbic acids. The study aimed to investigate red guava juice and papaya juice on hemoglobin levels in pregnant women. This study applied the pre-experimental research with two groups, pre-test and post-test, without the control group. Thirty pregnant women were divided into two groups, such as group 1 received the Guava (n=15), and group 2 received the papaya (n=15). A paired T-test was used to test the mean value of pre-test and post-test within the group. An Independent t-test was done to determine the difference between groups. This study showed an increase in hemoglobin after two weeks of guava juice and papaya juice supplementation. However, the Independent t-test showed no significant difference between the two groups with a value of 0.617 (p >0.05). Both supplementations of 200 ml/day red guava juice and papaya juice with iron tablets for 14 weeks are equally effective in increasing hemoglobin levels in second and third-trimester pregnant women
