Abstract

Introduction: Even though CPR training has begun to be widely carried out, the problem of readiness of CPR training participants to carry out CPR during emergencies still needs to improve. One of the problems is the implementation of unsustainable training. There is a need to modify CPR training at a low cost so that movement can be sustainable, hoping to increase readiness. Objective: This study aimed to investigate the influence of CPR Training use of CPR Pillow on the scout member readiness in response to Hospital Cardiac Arrest (OHCA) in Lubuklinggau City, South Sumatera, Indonesia. Method: This quantitative study was conducted with a quasi-experimental approach. A total of 72 participants participated in this study, of which 36 were categorized into the experimental group and attended three CPR Training in two months by simulation method using CPR Pillow. The remaining 36 participants were in the control group and received classical CPR training using leaflets. Both the experimental and control groups were subjected to pretest and post-testing. The researcher developed a questionnaire to assess the readiness, deliberate the implementation, and conduct modifications from other studies. The Cronbach's alpha coefficients used were 0.82. The paired t-test was used to assess the data statistically. Result: The experimental group showed higher readiness progress (t = 6.834, p 0.001) than the control group. Recommendation: Continuous CPR training using CPR pillows effectively increases the readiness of training participants in dealing with OHCA victims

Abstract

Introduction: Hypertension is a severe problem that needs to be addressed because it is a significant factor causing premature death worldwide. The use of garlic herbs as a treatment for hypertension has been widely done but still needs further research, especially providing the correct dose for patients. Objective: This study aims to find the right amount to treat hypertension, determine the decrease in systole and diastole blood pressure, and see the impact of BMI on lowering blood pressure from garlic therapy. Method: Pre-experimental Design research design with One-group Pretest-posttest Design. The sampling technique was non-probability with a   purposive sampling approach. This study consisted of 45 respondents divided into three groups: Group 1 (dose 3gr), Group 2 (dose 6gr), and Group 3 (dose 9 gr). The intervention was carried out by giving garlic steeping to patients with hypertension who were monitored for seven days. Results: There was an effect of garlic steeping on reducing systole blood pressure in group 1 (0.033), group 2 (0.011), and group 3 (0.001) as well as diastole blood pressure, group 1 (0.038) and group 3 (0.034) while in group 2 (0.102) was not significant. Decrease in systole and diastole blood pressure in group 1 10.01±4.67 mmHg in group 2 12±2 mmHg while in group 3 18±4 mmHg. Conclusion: Steeping garlic in all three intervention groups can lower systole and diastole blood pressure, where high doses show more significant blood pressure reductions than low doses. Recommendation: Garlic can be used as a complementary nursing therapy by adjusting the dosage needs according to the patient's blood pressure

Objective: This study aimed to explore the perspective of maternal health literacy among pregnant Indonesian women. Method: We employed a qualitative phenomenology method to explore maternal health literacy. Purposive sampling was used to collect participants' data. The data saturation was achieved at the thirteenth pregnant woman. The collected data were analyzed using Colaizzi's strategy to identify themes and subthemes within the phenomenon. Results: Four themes and seventeen subthemes emerged to explain maternal health literacy among pregnant women in this study. These themes include the ability to understand health-related information, search for information related to maternal health during pregnancy, assess and evaluate obtained information regarding pregnancy and maternal health, and decision-making, action, and maternal health behavior. Recommendation: The findings have the potential to benefit multiple sectors and contribute to efforts to improve maternal health in Indonesia. Culturally tailored health education programs, community engagement, empowerment, decision-making support, strengthening healthcare infrastructure, and integrating technology and telemedicine are all essential components

Management support also has an indirect effect on the implementation of patient identification, through monitoring and evaluation. Meanwhile, monitoring and evaluation can have a direct influence on the implementation of patient identification. Team work influences the implementation of patient identification, but the influence is small, so monitoring and evaluation is needed so that team work works well. Meanwhile, team work is formed due to the contribution of management support. Implication: Create monitoring and evaluation policies related to the implementation of quality improvement and patient safety activities
