Abstract

Introduction: Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability worldwide. Currently, there is a pattern of shifting stroke epidemiology towards the young and productive age range of 18-45 years due to lifestyle. Post-stroke physical and cognitive impairments have been well studied, little is known about sexual function and satisfaction in these patients, despite it being an important aspect of quality of life. The problem of sexual dysfunction in young post-stroke patients is rarely detected and given less attention as the patient's recovery focuses on daily functional ability. Objective: To identify young adult post-stroke patients with disability with sexual concerns, functional status and quality of life. Method: The study used quantitative methods (descriptive research) with a cross sectional design using purposive sampling totaling 29 people in young adult post-stroke patients (18-45 years old) at Dr. Pirngadi Medan Hospital. Data collection instruments used the Changes in Sexual Functioning Questionnaire (CSFQ-14) to assess sexual changes, Stroke-Specific Quality of Life (SS-QoL-12) to assess quality of life and Barthel Index (IB) to assess functional ability. The study data were analyzed using the SPSS program. Results: There were 29 subjects with a mean age of 39.07±6.39 years, mainly male (58.6%) and suffering from ischemic stroke (89.7%). The majority of subjects had sexual dysfunction (82.3%), mild dependence (65.5%) and high quality of life (58.6%). Recommendation: Nurses need to screen and evaluate post-stroke sexual dysfunction, so that neuro-rehabilitation can be done to improve the patient's quality of life. Abstract

Background: The provision of high-quality healthcare services is a critical. Objective: This study aims to investigate the influence of leadership style, supervision techniques, and competence on the quality of service at the Columbia Asia Pulomas Special Surgical Hospital with the implementation of professional nursing practice as an intervening variable. Method: The quantitative with an cross-sectional approach was used to determine the causality among variables. Data was collected from 105 nurses using purposive sampling techniques and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Result: The result found that leadership style (p-value<.05), competencies (p-value<.05), and professional nursing practice (p-value<.05) have positive effect on quality of services. Professional nursing practice mediates the influence of the three independent variables on service quality. Conclusion: These findings show the importance of implementing the professional nursing practice model in improving the quality of nursing services. The democratic leadership style applied motivates nurses to provide quality services, while more effective supervision needs to be improved to ensure optimal service. Nurse competency plays a crucial role in producing quality services through professional nursing practice. Implication: This research contributes to the understanding of the factors that influence the quality of nursing services in hospitals and provides valuable input in improving service standards. Therefore, hospital leaders and management need to pay attention to the implementation of professional nursing practices as a strategy to improve the quality of nursing services

Abstract

Background: The application of information technology systems integrates the entire IFRS service process. Evaluation is needed to find out the benefits of SIRS in IFRS using the Human, Organization, Technology (HOT) Fit evaluation framework Objective: The study aimed to analyze the influence of Human, Organizational, Technology factors on Net Benefit in the Dinda Hospital Pharmacy Installation. Method: This research uses a quantitative approach with a causal research design using PLS SEM. The sample in this study was 30 staff who worked in IFRS. The research instrument uses a questionnaire and is measured using a Likert scale. Result: Based on the results of the t-statistical test, there is a discrepancy that appears in the form of an insignificant direct effect between the influence of information quality on system use (p-value 0.199), information quality on user satisfaction (p-value 0.480), service quality on user satisfaction (p-value 0.276), system quality to structure (p-value 0.414), information quality to structure (p-value 0.431), and environment to net benefit (p-value 0.450). Conclusion. improving the quality of user capabilities can directly influence the quality of the information produced. Quality information can be used directly by organizations in making decisions to fulfill and improve pharmaceutical services at Tangerang Hospital. Recommendation. Further research needs to be conducted with different population sizes and the use of HOT-fit models needs to be maximized by using more complex variables by combining existing methods with methods from another research

Abstract

Background & Aim: Eating behaviors are vital health indicators, particularly among young adults aged 20-37, warranting attention in communities like Barangay Indahag, Philippines. This study analyzed how demographic factors influence eating habits in this context. Utilizing Sister Callista Roy's Adaptation Model, associations between gender, occupation, socio-economic status, physical activity, and food choices were explored to inform interventions promoting healthier eating. Methods & Materials: Employing a descriptive-correlational research design. Surveys and a modified questionnaire based on the Dutch Eating Behavior Questionnaire collected data on restrained, emotional, and external eating behaviors. Statistical analyses, including the F-test, ANOVA, and T-tests, identified significant associations between demographic variables and eating behaviors. Results: Gender differences were significant, with females exhibiting higher levels of restrained eating while males showed more external and emotional eating behaviors. Females tended to be more weight and appearance-conscious, while males leaned towards indulging in appealing food options. No significant disparities were found based on occupation, socio-economic status, or weekly physical activity. Conclusion: Most respondents were females, unemployed, and had low incomes, engaging primarily in household physical activities and consuming high-calorie foods. Predominantly exhibiting External Eating Behavior, restrained eating was rare, and emotional eating was absent. Recommendation: Clinical practitioners in Barangay Indahag should prioritize interventions aimed at addressing gender-specific eating behaviors, such as restrained eating among females and external/emotional eating among males, to promote healthier eating habits and reduce the risk of eating disorders.

Abstract

Background: The quality of nurse communication is a form of nurse performance which plays an important role in increasing visits and trust in hospital services, especially nursing services. The high quality of nurse communication reflects good and quality hospital services. Objective: The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of work ethic, self-efficacy and quality of work life on the quality of communication of inpatient nurses at Puri Cinere Hospital. Method: The research uses quantitative methods with the type of explanatory causality research with a cross-sectional study approach. One hundred samples were recruited in this study using the simple random sampling. The regression analysis was used to analyzed the data and examine the association between independent variables with the dependent variable. Result: The results of the research show that work ethic, self-efficacy and quality of work life together have a significant effect on the quality of communication of inpatient nurses at Puri Cinere Hospital. Empirically, work ethic has no significant effect on the quality of communication of inpatient nurses at Puri Cinere Hospital. Self-efficacy has a significant effect on the quality of communication of inpatient nurses at Puri Cinere Hospital. The quality of work life has a significant effect on the quality of communication of inpatient nurses at Puri Cinere Hospital. Recommendation: The health care services ned to consider the work ethic and self-efficacy to improve the quality of communication among nurses. The quality of work life also needs to consider in order to improve the quality of communication. Furthr study may develop some intervensions to improve the communication skill among nurses in order to improve the quality of health care service

Abstract

Background: The emotional and psychological recovery processes of Filipino mothers who have experienced multiple miscarriages are inadequately understood, particularly within the Philippine public health care system. Objective: The study aims to understand the lived experiences of Filipino mothers who have suffered multiple miscarriages, focusing on their emotional and psychological recovery. Method: Utilizing a phenomenological research design, in-depth interviews were conducted with 12 mothers from rural areas in the Philippines. Result: The study identified several themes, including the varied grieving and recovery processes, the presence of misinformation, poor health-seeking behavior, and the significant role of family support. It also highlighted gaps in the Philippine healthcare system, such as the absence of specialized programs for miscarriage care and limited access to essential prenatal services like ultrasounds. Conclusion: The findings underscore the need for improved public health initiatives, including education campaigns to address misinformation, specialized training for healthcare providers, and the establishment of support programs tailored to women who experience miscarriages. Recommendation: It include legislative action to ensure better care for women facing miscarriages, enhanced community-based support, and the provision of free ultrasound services in rural health units. This study emphasizes the importance of culturally sensitive interventions to improve the health and well-being of Filipino mothers coping with the emotional and psychological impact of multiple miscarriages. The study recommends legislative action for improved miscarriage care, community-based support, and free rural ultrasound services, highlighting the need for culturally sensitive interventions to support Filipino mothers' emotional and psychological well-being after multiple miscarriages

Abstract

Background: Immunization is an essential public health strategy to prevent childhood diseases and enhance community health. The effectiveness of immunization programs, however, relies heavily on the acceptance and compliance of parents, particularly mothers. This study aimed to evaluate mothers' perceptions of child immunization in rural areas of Bangladesh. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted at the EPI center of Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital in Barishal, involving 112 participants selected through convenience sampling. Data were collected via structured face-to-face interviews, utilizing a questionnaire with two sections: one on socio-demographic details and the other on mothers’ perceptions of immunization. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 26, employing descriptive statistics to summarize participant characteristics and perceptions, and inferential statistics to assess relationships among variables. Results: The average age of participants was 29.29 years (SD = 6.92). A significant positive association was observed between participants' age and their perception of immunization (r = -0.190, p = 0.045). Additionally, residential area was significantly related to immunization perception (t = -2.115, p = 0.037), and the information source also had a significant effect on perception (F = -2.115, p = 0.021). Conclusion: The study findings indicate that perceptions of immunization are significantly associated with certain demographic factors. These results highlight the need for targeted educational efforts and community-based initiatives to counter misinformation and increase awareness. The insights gained can aid policymakers, healthcare providers, and public health professionals in improving immunization rates and safeguarding the health of future generations in Bangladesh

Abstract

Background: This study is based on the results of initial observations that inform the number of patient complaints related to the quality of service from patients in 2023. Objective: The purpose of this study is to empirically reveal the influence of leadership function and job satisfaction on OCB with readiness to change as an intervening variable. Method: This research was conducted at a type B private hospital in Tangerang City. The research was carried out in the period May – June 2024. The type of research is included in the quantitative with a cross sectional study design. The population used is nurses with permanent employee status. The sampling technique uses non-probability, with a calculation that multiplies the number of indicators by 5 observations, so that the number of samples is 180 respondents. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire, and the analysis method uses the three-box method and SEM analysis. Result: The results of the analysis prove that the leadership function and readiness to change are influential to OCB with readiness to change as an intervening variable, leadership function and job satisfaction are dependent on readiness to change and OCB, leadership function, job satisfaction and readiness to change have an effect on OCB. Readiness to change is the dominant variable that is able to increase OCB with a coefficient of 0.71

Abstract

Background: The intricate relationship between job stress, work environment, motivation, and staff loyalty has been a focal point of organizational studies for decades. Objective: This research aims to determine the relationship between work stress, work environment, and work motivation on staff loyalty. Method: This research is a quantitative study with a cross sectional approach involving 192 respondents. The research sample was taken using the Simple Random Sampling technique. Data was taken using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Smart PLS version 3 program. Result: This research shows that there is a relationship between work stress and staff loyalty; work stress with work motivation; work environment with staff loyalty; work environment with work motivation; work environment with work stress; and work motivation with staff loyalty with a P value <0.05. Conclusion: in conclusion explained that job stress, work environtment, and motivation was successfully predicting the staff loyalty in the hospital. Recommendation: The hospital staff need to consider those factors to influence the staff loyalty at hospital. Further research needs to conduct the mixed method study to explore the factors associated with staff loyalty in qualitatively

Abstract

Introduction: One of the hospital's efforts to improve the quality of medical care is by implementing an electronic medical record (EMR). This depends on individual readiness factors and the acceptance of new technologies in hospital EMR implementation. Objective: The study aims to analyze the readiness of technology and nurse acceptance models for the implementation of EMR. Method: This study uses a quantitative approach with exploratory objectives. This study used a questionnaire to sample 264 respondents (nurses), as well as SEM (structural equation modeling) as a data analyst. The study results showed that of the 11 existing hypotheses, two hypotheses were rejected: insecurity against perceived ease of use with a p-value of 0.761 > p-value 0.05 and discomfort against perceived usefulness with a p-value of 0.156 > p-value 0.05. Results: The results of the study show that the futility of individuals and models of accepting new technology through factors such as optimism, innovativeness, insecurity discomfort, as well as perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness can influence Indovidu in accepting new technologies, such as electronic medical records Recommendation of your study must be clear.
