Abstract

Regression analysis is a statistical analysis to predict or explain the relationship between the response variable and one or more explanatory variables. The simplest and most commonly used regression analysis is linear regression. Copula regression is often used as an alternative method to overcome the problem of violating the assumptions of the linear regression model. The advantage of using copula regression is that the response variable does not have to follow a certain distribution and copula regression can explain nonlinear relationships. In this study, the copula used is the Gaussian copula and the student’s t copula. The main objective of this study is to compare the results of linear regression analysis with copula regression on financial data. In the linear regression method, the objective is to determine the estimated value of the response variable and to analyze the effect of macroeconomic factors on BMRI’s stock price. Meanwhile, copula regression was used to estimate the copula parameters using the Maximum Likelihood Estimation method and to determine the estimated value of the response variable using the Monte Carlo method. The measure of the accuracy of the model used is MAPE (Mean Absolute Percentage Error). This study uses financial data consisting of BMRI stock price data as response variables, as well as IHSG and the rupiah exchange rate as explanatory variables. The results showed that the MAPE values for linear regression and copula regression were small and not significantly different, meaning that both regressions were quite good in modeling financial data.

Abstract

This article discusses Möbius transformation from the point of view of algebra to describe one of its geometric properties, i.e. preserving circles and lines in complex planes. In simple terms, this preservation means that Möbius transformation maps a collection of circles and lines (back) into a collection of circles and lines. In general, the discussion begins with an explanation of the definition of the Möbius transformation in the complex plane. The discussion continues on defining the basic mapping and direct affine transformation. These two concepts are used to prove the existence of the preservation properties of circles and lines in the Möbius transformation. It can be shown that the Möbius transformation can be expressed as a composition of the direct affine transform and the inverse. It can also be shown that the direct affine transform and the inverse both have the property of preserving circles and lines in the complex plane. Thus, it can be concluded that in this study the Möbius transformation has the property of preserving circles and lines in the complex plane.

Abstract

Stock is one of the instruments that can be used to invest. The factors suspected of influencing the fluctuations in the stock price index are the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI), the rupiah exchange rate, and the Covid-19. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of the JCI, the rupiah exchange rate, and the Covid-19 on the Jatim Bank stock price index. To analyze the effect of the JCI, the rupiah exchange rate, and the Covid-19 on the Jatim Bank stock price index, time series regression analysis was used. The results of the analysis show that the JCI, the rupiah exchange rate, and the Covid-19 have a significant effect on the Jatim Bank stock price index. The p-value of the three variables is less than 0.05. The value of the determination coefficient is 65.56%, so that the diversity of the dependent variable that can be explained by the model is 65.56%.

Abstract

Controlling the spread of the Covid-19 virus in Indonesia, the government continues to strive for a comprehensive 3T (Testing, Training, and Tracing) implementation. Massive testing is often constrained by several things, including cost and affordability of access. This study aims to create a model for early diagnosis of Covid-19 infection cases through several characteristic symptoms and experiences of close contact with positive patients. By using a binary logistic regression model, it was found that symptoms of anosmia, feverish symptoms, and close contact experience were significant in influencing Covid-19 infection. From the odds ratio value, it is known that anosmia is the most influential variable. Someone who has anosmia tends to be infected by 31 times compared to those who do not. Validation of the strength of the model in classifying is done by making predictions on the resulting model is good, because the measurement of each criterion of the strength of the model consists of accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity of the model both on the data testing each produces a value of 0.8 (close to 1). The area under the Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve for testing data is 0.8462, which means that the model already has good criteria for classifying.

Abstract

The high population growth rate can impact various fields due to several factors. Some of the impacts of this high rate are high poverty rates, unemployment, consumption levels, inequality in education figures, gender empowerment index, and increasingly narrow land or area. Therefore, research on the rate of population growth using data on poverty, unemployment, consumption levels, education rates, gender empowerment index, and area makes sense. This data was taken from the official website of the Central Statistics Agency for six provinces on the island of Java, Indonesia. The data used contains missing data so that the missing data is presumed by using the k-nearest neighbour method. The estimated missing data values were modelled using binary logistic regression. Variables that significantly affect the rate of population growth, namely the level of consumption, gender empowerment index, and area, are obtained using the backward stepwise method and are selected based on the smallest Aikakes criterion information value or the one with the most excellent accuracy rate.

Abstract

The DNA molecule chain consists of two complementary strands composed of a sequence of four nucleotide bases, namely adenine (A), cytosine (C), guanine (G) and thymine (T). DNA code is a set of codewords with a fixed length of the alphabet {A, C, T, G}. DNA coding is one application of coding theory over a finite field. The set {A, C, T, G} is identified as finite field GF(4) = {0, 1, w, w2} with w2 + w + 1 = 0. The reversible self-dual (RSD) code over the finite field GF(4) is a code whose dual is itself and the reverse of each codeword contained in the code. This study aims to obtain an algorithm to construct a DNA code derived from the RSD C code on the field to GF(4) which is called the Reversible Self-Dual Method. The aspects studied include the characteristics that form the basis properties of the theory in compiling the DNA code algorithm over the RSD code over GF(4). The compiled algorithm is a DNA code construction method of codeword length even that conforms to the Hamming distance constraint, reverse-complement constraint, and GC-content constraint. The input of the algorithm is a generator matrix of RSD code C with a minimum distance of d and the output is a DNA code that satisfies these three constraints.

Abstract

Chaos phenomena appear in dynamic, nonlinear and deterministic systems. One model that is being intensively researched is financial risk. This model has system variables such as interest rate, investment demand, and stock price index. This study shows that the new financial system has interesting characteristics including multistability equilibrium points, Lyapunov exponents and bifurcation diagrams. The results of this study use MATLAB for phase diagrams of the financial system. The Lyapunov exponent and analysis of the Bifurcation diagram have been generated showing the chaotic phenomena in the intervals 0 a 15 and 0 b 0.25. The resulting Kaplan-Yorke dimension is 2.2506. The results of this study can be used to predict financial risk chaos.

Abstract

Based on OJK data on insurance statistical documents in 2020 and 2021, the adequacy of reinsurance company premiums continued to decline throughout the year until the year 2020 a slight excess of 164.60% and 183,31% at the end of 2021. Analysis of proper premium calculation needs to be done as an effort to prevent the default from insurance companies, one of which is fire insurance with Burning Cost. The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of the inflation index that can make changes to the calculation of premiums using Burning Cost. This study uses secondary data on the value of fire insurance claims at reinsurance companies by observing historical reports of claim data from the previous year. The use of the inflation index in calculating the Excess-of-Loss premium using the Burning Cost method has a different value if it is not assumed. The more inflation index used, the higher the premium that will be charged to the ceding company.

Abstract

One of the multi-life annuity products is a reversionary annuity, a life annuity product for two insured people. The annuity payment for this product will begin after one of the insured specified in the contract dies first until the other insured dies as well. The calculation of the annuity premium is usually done by assuming independence between the random variable of remaining life-times of the insured parties. However, this is not relevant to the actual situation because the husband and wife are interrelated with their lives. This study considered this relationship when modelling the joint distribution of the remaining life-times between husband and wife. Frank’s copula was used to model the joint distribution of the remaining life-times of husband and wife. It was built from marginal distribution, which was assumed to follow the mortality value in the 2019 Indonesian Mortality Table IV. The mortality value at non-integer ages was assumed to follow a uniform distribution (uniform distribution of death). Furthermore, the joint survival distribution modelled by copula was constructed exactly when husband and wife are married. This study also considered the net single premium of reversionary annuity for several beneficiary cases. In general, the results of the calculation of the net single premium with Frank’s copula produced a lower value than the calculation of the assumption of independence for all beneficiary cases. In addition, the purchase time of an annuity also affects the net single premium, which increases up to a certain point of marriage age and then decreases thereafter.

Abstract

In this manuscript, the dynamics of a fractional-order predator-prey model with age structure on predator and nonlinear harvesting on prey are studied. The Caputo fractional-order derivative is used as the operator of the model by considering its capability to explain the present state as the impact of all of the previous conditions. Three biological equilibrium points are successfully identified including their existing properties. The local dynamical behaviors around each equilibrium point are investigated by utilizing the Matignon condition along with the linearization process. The numerical simulations are demonstrated not only to show the local stability which confirms all of the previous analytical results but also to show the existence of periodic signal as the impact of the occurrence of Hopf bifurcation.
