Abstract

The marriage law states that the ideal marriage for men is over the age of 21 and women over the age of 19. The social problem of early marriage in Indonesia is a phenomenon that occurs in many areas, both in urban and rural areas, such as the high rate of divorce and maternal and infant mortality. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence adolescent attitudes towards early marriage in Banten Province based on the 2019 Program Performance and Accountability Survey. The research design was cross-sectional with the total sample of 1,458. The results showed that there was a relationship between age (p=0.001; OR=16.7; 95%CI=12.5-22.4), sex (p=0.001; OR=2.51; 95%CI=2, 01-3.12), education (p=0.001; OR=0.09; 95%CI=0.06-0.12), knowledge (p=0.001; OR=4.11; 95%CI=3.26 -5.17) and adolescent attitudes towards early marriage. Meanwhile, residence did not have a relationship with adolescent attitudes towards early marriage (p=0.073). Access to information is an influential issue to adolescents’ knowledge about the risk of early marriage so that those with low education and living in rural areas can have indifferent knowledge from those with high education and living in urban areas.

Abstract

Waste water that produced by hospital activities is one of the most potential sources of water pollution because it contains high levels of organic compounds, hazardous chemical compounds, radioactivity, and microorganisms that are harmful to the environment and health. This study aims to determine the difference in decreasing ammonia and phosphate levels by utilizing Effective Microorganisms 4 (EM4) using biofilm media in waste water at Atma Husada Mahakam Mental Hospital. This research is a quasi-experimental study with non equivalent control group design. Sample of research consisted by 1 control tub and 2 reactors. In the anaerob-aerob tub, there is a PVC-based biofilm media. Waste water is flowed continuously with detention time in 2 weeks, 3 weeks, and 4 weeks. The results showed the average reduction in ammonia levels with the addition of 5% EM4 is 92,5% and 10% EM4 is 92,1%. Meanwhile, the average reduction in phosphate levels with the addition of 5% EM4 is 92,19% and 10% EM4 is 65,56%. This study statistically shows there is no difference in the ammonia levels reduction (P value > α or 0,941 >0,05) and there is a difference in the phosphate levels reduction (P value < α or 0,0001 < 0,05).

The data analysis used paired T-test and independent T-test. The mean of systole in pre-test and post-test of the control group was increased by 3.42 mmHg. The mean of diastole in pre-test and post-test of the control group was decreased by 0.18 mmHg. The mean of systole and diastole of post-test and the pre-test in the intervention group was decreased by 8.0 mmHg and 2.12 mmHg. The mean decrease of systolic and diastolic blood pressure in the intervention group was greater than the control group. The bivariate test for systole of the control and intervention group were P-values of 0.041 and 0.000. The bivariate test for diastole of the control and intervention group were P-values of 0.929 and 0.254. Combination therapy of warm water foot soak and lemon aromatherapy is effective to lower systolic blood pressure of prehypertensive patients.

Abstract

Banana flower is well-known as an ingredient of traditional food and proved to increase breast milk production. However, the benefits of banana flower are not widely known by Indonesian people, especially to increase breast milk production. This study aimed to determine the effects of consuming processed banana flower on the increase of breast milk production among postpartum mothers. This study used pre-experimental analytical quantitative method with one group pretest posttest approach. The samples were 20 postpartum mothers on days 3-14, who were taken by using a purposive sampling technique. The univariate data analysis used central tendency distribution and the bivariate analysis used paired sample t-test. The results showed that the mean of breast milk production before consuming processed banana flower was 81.50 and after consuming processed banana flower was increased to 99.55 with a difference of 18.05 per minute. The results of statistical tests obtained a p value of 0.000 (α<0.05) which means that there was effect of consuming processed banana flower on the increase of breast milk production. Health officers need to know the benefits of consuming processed banana flower and educate postpartum mothers to cook banana flower and consume it during breastfeeding period to increase their breast milk production.

The achievement of this development is done so that the child is accustomed to being independent and also stimulates further development. The purpose of the study was to determine the factors corelated with the success of toilet training in children aged 18-36 months. This study used a descriptive correlative method through a cross sectional approach. This study used a purposive sampling technique and a sample of 163 respondents, with Kendal tau statistical test. The results showed that there was a relationship between mother's knowledge (p value 0.000), mother's readiness (p value 0.000), and child readiness (p value 0.000) with the success of toilet training. The readiness of mothers and children is very important in supporting the success of child toilet training. Parents, especially mothers, need to increase knowledge and provide simulation motivation to children in order to improve toddler toilet training skills.

Abstract

Anemia in pregnancy is a deficiency of iron that plays a role in the formation of hemoglobin, namely protein, iron, vitamin B12, vitamin C and folic acid. Folic acid plays a role in the metabolism of amino acids necessary in the formation of red blood cells to prevent from the occurrence of birth defects and anemia. This was a descriptive literature study. The articles search used Mendeley app with the year of publication from 2017 to 2021 and obtained 10 articles that are relavant with inclusion criteria. According to the 10 articles that are eligiable and meet the determined criteria, the provision of folamil supplement and iron tablets to pregnant women with anemia had a significant effect on the increase of hemoglobin level. During pregnancy, the pregnant women got poor nutrients intake and had insufficient supplies of iron and folic acid. Health workers especially midwives should increase the scope of folamil supplement and iron tablets administration by improving the role of community and pregnant women in order to increase the use of health facility.
