Abstract

Perineum tears are obstetric tears that occur in the perineum area due to the inability of the muscles and soft tissues of the pelvic to accommodate the birth of the fetus. Perineum wounds that are not properly oversed can inhibit wound healing and result in infection. The level of consumption of nutritious foods affects wound healing in humans, one of which is by consuming snackhead fish (Channa Striata). The purpose of this study is to find out determinant of the acceleration of perineum wound healing in postpartum by giving consumption of snakehead fish (Channa Striata). The research method used is an analytical survey with a cross sectional approach that is a study to study the dynamics of correlation between risk factors and effects, by way of approach, observation or data collection at a time (point time approach), the large sample in this study is postpartum from the first day of childbirth as many as 30 people, sampling technique using Purposive Sampling technique, data collection method is by intervening specifically by giving snakehead fish one day 3x for 10 days, research instruments used in this study are operational standard procedure (SOP) perineum wound healing, data analysis using univariate analysis and bivariate analysis. The results of this study showed that the length of healing of maternal perineum wounds is in the category of <=7 days which is as much as 60%, while 40% is in the category of healing length >7 days. Age, parity, education, early mobilization, and types of wounds affect the length of healing of perineum wounds in the postpartum.

Abstract

Dietary adherence is one of the requirements in chronic disease management, which the success of hypertension management may correlate with the social support perceived by the patients. The study aimed to identify the relationship between social support and dietary adherence among patients with hypertension in Primary Health Centre, Tangerang. The study was a descriptive correlational, cross-sectional study, in which 120 respondents were recruited by using purposive sampling. Multidimensional Perceived of Social Support (MSPSS) and Dietary Adherence questionnaire was used based upon validity and reliability to measure social support and adherence. Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient was used to examine the relationship between social support and dietary adherence. The analysis result indicated that respondents who reported low support were 51 respondents (42.5%), and low dietary adherence was 53 respondents (44.2%). The analysis results showed there was a significant positive relationship between social support and dietary adherence among patients with hypertension, in which the power of correlation was moderate (r = 0.49, p < 0.05). Patients with hypertension who perceived higher social support more likely to adhere to the dietary of hypertension. The result suggests that health care providers need to facilitate support from friends, family, and significant others of the patients to achieve optimum dietary adherence.

The surgical procedures of cesarean section delivery can cause several complications, one of which is surgical site infection (SSI). The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with the incidence of surgical site infection (SSI) of post caesarean postpartum mothers at Berkah General Hospital Pandeglang in 2017. This study used an analytical survey research method with a cross-sectional approach. This research was conducted from May to June 2017 at the postpartum room. The research samples were 96 respondents. The sampling technique is accidental sampling. The data collection technique used a questionnaire and direct observations. The data analysis used chi square test. The results showed that out of 96 post cesarean postpartum, 77.1% did not experience SSI. There was a relationship among nutritional status (Pv 0.000; OR 1.8), hemoglobin level (Pv 0.003; OR 8.9), wound care (Pv 0.000) and the incidence of SSI. However, there was no relationship between maternal age (Pv 0.327) and parity (Pv 0.889) and the incidence of SSI. The risk factors of post caesarean section surgical site infection are nutritional status, hemoglobin level, and wound care.
