Abstract

The 3-month injectable contraception is a highly effective method of hormonal contraception that prevents pregnancy. However, some acceptors may experience side effects, such as weight gain. This research aims to determine the relationship between the duration of 3 months of injectable contraceptive use and the incidence of obesity at the Health Center of Banding Agung. The study used a correlational analytic method with a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of all mothers who had used the 3-month injection contraception for three months, with a total of 1,250 acceptors. The sample size was 93 respondents, and measuring tools used were family planning visit books, medical records, scales, and height measuring devices (GEA brand). The study found that those who used the 3-month injection contraception for over two years had the same number of obese people, namely 74 respondents (79.6%). The Fisher's Exact test obtained a p-value of <0.001 (? = 0.05), indicating a long-term relationship between 3-month injection contraception and obesity at the Banding Agung Inpatient Health Center. Understanding this link and providing proper services and education can help women make informed contraceptive decisions for their well-being.

Abstract

The prevalence rate of hypertension continues to increase every year. Strategies are needed to help health professionals and the public discover the tendency of hypertension as early as possible. Measuring quality of life is one way to discover the description of the patient's condition. It can help health workers and the public prevent and treat hypertension. One of the questionnaires to assess the quality of life is the European Quality of Life - 5 Dimensions- 5 Level (EQ-5D-5L) form issued by EuroQol. This questionnaire consists of questions and a visual analog scale (VAS). The research was conducted on August 27, 2018 - September 14, 2018. Using the EQ-5D-5L questionnaire, the self-care aspect (SC) is the dimension that is least affected by the patient's hypertension, with a percentage of 6%. The pain or discomfort dimension (PD) is the most affected, with a percentage of 54%, where 12 people (36%) do not have problematic dimensions, so the index value is 1. Measurements with VAS show that most patients have a VAS value of 90 55. % with an average value of 70.

Abstract

Violence is increasingly rampant everywhere, one of them in the field of education. One type of violence that often occurs in schools is bullying. One of the factors related to bullying behaviour is gender. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between gender and the tendency of bullying behaviour in adolescents at SMK Negeri 1 Dlanggu, Mojokerto Regency. A correlative analytic study with a cross-sectional approach was used in this study. The sampling technique used was proportional stratified random sampling and used a sample of 212 teenagers. The tool used to measure the tendency of bullying behaviour in adolescents is the Adolescent Peer Relations Instrument-Bully/Target (APRI-BT). The data analysis used is the chi-square test. The results showed that 44% of male respondents tended to be victims, while 39% of female respondents had tendencies to either be victims or perpetrators. The results of the statistical test using chi-square obtained a p-value of 0.715, which means that there is no gender relationship with the tendency of bullying behaviour in adolescents. There is no difference in the tendency of bullying in males and females; they have almost the same tendencies. Only the types are different. Men tend to bully directly, while women tend to bully indirectly. Bullying is a problem that can harm adolescents in the future. So, various efforts to prevent it must continue to be made.

Abstract

Spinal cord injury is a serious and complex medical condition that affects many aspects of a patient's life. This study aims to explore the influence of family support on the rehabilitation process of patients with spinal cord injury. Through a survey involving various respondents who have experienced spinal cord injury, this study attempts to identify how family support, both in the form of emotional and physical support, can affect patients' motivation, quality of life, and their rehabilitation outcomes. The survey results showed that the majority of respondents felt positively supported by their families, which had a positive impact on patient motivation and their quality of life. Family involvement in medical care and creating an appropriate environment also proved important in the rehabilitation process. However, the study also revealed that conflicts within the family can be an obstacle in providing effective support. The results of this study highlight the importance of the family's role in the recovery of patients with spinal cord injury and its practical implications in healthcare. With a better understanding of the positive influence of family support, health and care providers can design more effective interventions to improve the rehabilitation process of patients. This study also provides a basis for further research in understanding more in-depth aspects of family support in the context of spinal cord injury. With collaborative efforts between the patient, family, and healthcare team, patients with spinal cord injury have a better chance of achieving optimal recovery and improving their quality of life.

Abstract

Night shift workers face unique challenges related to unconventional sleep patterns, which can have a significant impact on their mental well-being. In this context, this study aims to explore the impact of sleep quality on the mental well-being of night shift workers through a qualitative approach. Through an in-depth analysis of the individual experiences of 10 night shift workers with varying backgrounds, ages, genders, and work experiences, this study analyzed the challenges faced, coping strategies used, and broader implications regarding sleep quality and mental well-being. The results showed that night shift workers faced diverse challenges in maintaining sleep quality, including disrupted sleep patterns, jet lag, and work schedule uncertainty. However, these individuals adopted various coping strategies, such as maintaining a regular sleep routine, avoiding caffeine consumption in the evening, and applying relaxation techniques before bed. A supportive sleep environment, such as appropriate lighting and sleep comfort, also plays an important role in maintaining sleep quality. Implications of these findings include the need for management and organizational support in creating a work environment that supports quality sleep. This support may include stress management programs, psychological support, and schedule flexibility. In addition, this study contributes to our understanding of the interactions between sleep quality, circadian rhythms and mental well-being. The practical and academic implications of these findings may assist in the development of more effective interventions or support programs for night shift workers.
