Abstract

The purpose of the research is to analyze the functional final drive components to increase torque. To find out more in-depth about how to fix the damage to the final drive. This study uses a field observation method by making direct observations by looking for the cause of damage, and how to overcome damage to the final drive components, and conducting and question-and-answer method so that the problem that occurs in the final drive is found. Damage to the final drive of the CAT 329 DL excavator is due to this unit traveling a long distance. As a result, the input shaft components on the final drive are worn out, causing damage that results in noise on the front of the final drive when running. The input shaft component is damaged and must be replaced with a new one; if left unchecked, it will cause damage to other components. Damage to the input shaft makes the track unable to move. Abstract

Machines require an electrical system to function and operate. The electrical system consists of batteries. The battery provides electric current to other electrical components. Machines that can produce large twisting moments require a starter component, as previously known. Electric motors are usually equipped with a solenoid to drive the pinion gear to a ring gear mounted around a flywheel, or flywheel, mounted on the crankshaft. Results of visual inspections carried out on all parts of the Motor Stater excavator 329DL. There was no wear or damage found on the Caterpillar. After carrying out a visual inspection, take measurements of the parts. The starter motor, after carrying out measurements, shows results that are under the specifications based on SIS/GRPTS.

Abstract

ST 41 steel is a low carbon steel, has a relatively low surface hardness, so it requires additional heat treatment to improve resistance to wear and cyclic loads. This study aims to examine the effect of variations in cooling media on the mechanical properties of ST 41 steel, especially hardness and fatigue resistance. The variations in cooling media used were water, SAE 20W-50 oil, and air at a temperature of 950°C with a holding time of 15 minutes. The heat treatment process includes preheating and hardening, followed by quenching using the three media. The results showed that the hardness of the steel increased significantly after heat treatment, with the highest value in water cooling (171 HV). In fatigue testing, untreated ST 41 steel showed 71,651 cycles, while heat treatment with oil, air, and water reduced the number of fatigue cycles to 30,571.67, 19,461, and 43,402.33 cycles

Abstract

Vehicles with conventional engines produce heat from combustion in the engine, so that the engine temperature is stable, a radiator water system is needed. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of water coolant and plain water temperatures on fuel consumption. The method used was to test 3 variations of engine speed, namely 1000, 1500 and 2000 rpm on fuel consumption and engine temperature. The results obtained showed that the average fuel consumption was the same when using water coolant and plain water at an engine speed of 1000 rpm and the water coolant temperature was 3 oC lower than the temperature of plain water. While the average fuel consumption when using water coolant was 17 mL lower than using plain water at engine speeds of 1500 rpm and 2000 rpm, with a temperature drop of 1-3 oC. So, fuel consumption and temperature were lower when using water coolant than when using plain water.

Abstract

This study examines anodizing on aluminum 6061 using chemical dyes (printer ink and clothing dye) and a natural dye (turmeric) at concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15% w/v. The anodizing process was conducted at 12 volts, 2.5 amps, for 30 minutes. The research aims to evaluate the effects of dye type and concentration on color brightness, oxide layer thickness, and wear rate. Results indicate that dye concentration influences brightness, with the best outcome at 10% w/v printer ink (brightness level 5.4). Oxide layer thickness was unaffected by the type or concentration of dye used. Wear testing revealed that dyeing did not significantly affect wear resistance, with the highest specific wear rate on untreated material (11.01 x 10⁻⁴ mm³/kg.m) and the lowest on 10% w/v printer ink (7.63 x 10⁻⁴ mm³/kg.m). Overall, the findings suggest a limited impact of dye on the anodized aluminum's wear properties.

Abstract

This research is about post-harvest tomato selection where the TCS230 color sensor Will go through a way of assessing light intensity by emitting caused by super bright leds through objects, reading light intensity values starting with an 8x8 photodiode matrix, on 64 photodiodes will be divided into 4 parts of color reading, on the color illuminated by the led reflected by the led light to the photodiode, the reflection of the light will be extended by a wave that changes depending on the color of the object being detected, the TCS230 color sensor can read several colors. A tomato will enter its place, the tomato may always stop right under the sensor so that the sensor will not be able to detect the presence of tomatoes that pass, and cannot read the RGB value of the tomatoes that pass. The results of 10 tests showed that selecting tomatoes successfully classified tomato grades, could control servo motors and DC motors automatically based on RGB values through a processing time of about 3 seconds with an error rate of 2%.

Abstract

Spark plugs are the most important thing in the combustion system. Spark plugs in internal combustion using gasoline significantly affect vehicle performance. Likewise, fuel use must follow the compression ratio in the combustion chamber. The purpose of this study was to obtain the effect of differences in hot, cold, and medium spark plugs on engine performance and also the effect of fuel differences in supporting the performance of pertalite and pertamax two-wheeled vehicles in supporting the performance of 135 CC two-wheeled four-stroke vehicles in 2009. The result with hot spark plugs will maximizer-pm, increasing torque and power with pertalite fuel—the effectiveness of increasing power by 31%.

Abstract

Aerodynamic analysis is an important part of the rocket design process. In this study, the analysis was carried out on the design of the 300 mm diametres artillery rocket fins. The rocket was developed to replace the TNI AD MLRS rocket, which is currently an imported product, so the geometry of the MLRS launch tube is a design limitation, and the rocket fins must be able to fold before launch. Aerodynamic analysis was carried out using the RASAero II flight speed Mach 2.0 application. Variations in the dimensions of the fins used in this study were: the length of the front and rear edges of the fins with variations in the size of 10, 30, and 50 mm, the thickness of the base of the fins with variations in the size of 5, 10 and 15 mm. The simulation results show that the folding fin size 50T5R has a drag force of 145 N and a lifting force of 1081 N, a fin with an optimal design. Based on natural frequency analysis, fins with sizes 10T5R, 10T10R, 30T5R, 30T10R, 50T5R, and 50T10R are fins with structural values safe from vibrational resonance.

Abstract

The impact point is the main parameter of the performance of an artillery rocket. During its flight, a rocket experiences uncertainty of some parameter’s value, which is caused by the condition of the rocket when it exits the launcher, the ever-changing atmospheric conditions, and fabrication imperfections. This disturbance will cause deviation on the impact point. This study aims to determine the deviation of the impact point of an artillery rocket due to the value uncertainty of several parameters that affect its flight trajectory, and this analysis will be used as a reference for designers and users in further design processes. Six degrees of freedom simulation calculates the rocket's impact point and deviation. The results showed that to minimize the impact point’s deviation, the quality of the launcher fabrication must be improved, predicting aerodynamics with CFD and firing the rocket at low wind disturbances.
