Abstract

Diarrhea is one of the gastrointestinal infections that poses a global health problem. In 2022, there were 93 cases (15.7%) of diarrhea in toddlers treated in the service area of Puskesmas (Community Healthcare Center) Kesugihan I. Promotive and preventive efforts, such as exclusive breastfeeding, aim to reduce diarrhea in toddlers. To analyze the correlation between exclusive breastfeeding and the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers in the service area of Puskesmas Kesugihan I. This study is a non-experimental comparative quantitative research with a retrospective case-control approach. Secondary data collection techniques from the MTBS poly visit register book, daily PISP Puskesmas register, EPPGBM data and baby cohort. Based on the Chi-square test results, exclusive breastfeeding is significantly associated with the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers, with a p-value of 0.001 (p 0.05). Therefore, toddlers who are not exclusively breastfed have a 3.631 times higher risk of experiencing diarrhea compared to those who are exclusively breastfed (p = 0.001, OR = 3.631, CI = 1.915-6.886. The results of this study indicate the importance of exclusive breastfeeding as an ideal nutritional provision to protect children from various diseases, including diarrhea. Health education efforts on the importance of exclusive breastfeeding, prevention and early management of diarrhea in infants, as well as support for mothers during the exclusive breastfeeding period and until the child is 2 years old during breastfeeding and complementary feeding, are necessary.

Abstract

The Modified Early Obstetric Warning Score (MEOWS) is a monitoring tool intended to detect early high-risk obstetric patients. MEOWS can be employed in pregnant and postpartum women to help identify, treat, and refer patients to changes in parameters that are leading to worsening. This research aimed to develop the MEOWS instrument as a warning tool for maternity cases at Banyumas Hospital. The research method utilized the validity test of the RASCH method and the reliability test of Cronbach's alpha. The results revealed that out of 20 question items, 17 were valid with ZSTD values ranging from -0.2 to 2.0, and 3 were invalid. The item reliability value was 0.93, and the result was a Cronbach's alpha value of 0.64. The sub-theme of this knowledge questionnaire comprised the urgency of using MEOWS for obstetric complications, the time of implementation of detection using MEOWS, indicators, patient identification results with scoring, scoring categories, and follow-up of scoring identification results. Conclusion: Through the development of the MEOWS instrument using indicators of patients' vital signs, it is hoped that the progression of the patient's prognosis will be better monitored.

Stunting is a problem of acute nutritional intake caused by a lack of nutritional intake. One of the interventions to prevent stunting in toddlers is to provide highly nutritious local foods such as tempeh. To analyze the effect of nutrition education on local tempeh food as supplementary feeding (PMT) to toddlers on stunting prevention behavior in toddler mothers. The research design used was a quasi-experimental design, which was a research model using two groups, namely the control group and the experimental group. With the nonequivalent control group design model, the sampling technique used was purposive sampling, and the sample consisted of two groups, namely the intervention group (n = 17) and the control group (n = 17), where the experimental group and the control group were not randomly selected. The instruments used are questionnaires and media modules. Education was given four times, with the first meeting focusing on nutrition, the second on stunting and how to prevent it, the third on how to process Tempe and train in preparing daily menus using Tempe, and the fourth meeting evaluating family behavior in utilizing Tempe by giving knowledge questionnaires. attitude and behavior. Analysis was used to see differences in measurement results before and after the intervention was carried out using the Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests. There were differences in the intervention group's knowledge, attitudes, and behavior toward respondents compared to the control group. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in the knowledge, attitudes, and behavior of the respondents after being given the tempeh local food nutrition education intervention as supplementary feeding (PMT) in preventing stunting.

The research method that will be used is quasi-experiment with a pre test-post test one group design approach. Sampling used the consecutive sampling method and 51 respondents were obtained according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Respondents were given intervention in the form of a healthy plate menu for 1 full week with a monitoring sheet. The measuring tool used to measure neuropathy symptoms is the Neuropathy Symptom Score. From the Wilcoxon signed ranks test statistical test, the p value = 0.000, indicating that there is a statistically significant difference between the NSS scores before and after intervention in type 2 DM sufferers at the Plumbon Community Health Center. Based on the research results, dietary adherence educational interventions can be recommended to reduce symptoms of diabetic neuropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between the implementation of the School Health Program (UKS) and Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) at SMP Negeri 05 Tamalatea. The research method used is quantitative with a cross-sectional design, involving 84 students selected using the purposive sampling technique. Data was collected through a questionnaire tested for validity and reliability, then analyzed using the chi-square test. The results show a significant relationship between the implementation of the UKS program and students' PHBS (p-value = 0.004), indicating that the better the implementation of the UKS program, the higher the students' awareness in practicing PHBS. However, some challenges were found in the program implementation, such as the lack of active involvement of students and educators in UKS activities. Therefore, strengthening education and implementing the UKS program effectively is necessary to enhance its role in shaping healthy living behaviors in the school environment.
