Abstract

The objectives of the research is to find the correlation between the knowledge of ecosystem  and environmental ethics with students participation in environmental hygiene.  The research was conducted at the Junior High School in District Telanaipura, Jambi City, with a sample of 107 students were taken by proportional random sampling. The research used survey method and data analysis technique using the correlation and simple linier regression statistic test, the hypothesis test was conducted on a 0.05 and 0.01significance level. The research produced three main conclusion i.e. First, there is a significant positive correlation between the knowledge of the ecosystem (X1) with hygienic behavior (Y)coefficient ry1 = 0.777 and regression equation Ŷ = 28.794 + 0.730 X1. Secondly, there is a significant positive correlation between Environmental Ethics (X2) with hygienic behavior (Y) with ry2 correlation coefficient = 0.790, the regression equation Y = 21.250 + 0.745 X2. Thirdly, there is a significant positive correlation between knowledge about the ecosystem (X1) and Environmental Ethics (X2) together with hygienic behavior (Y) with ry.12 correlation coefficient = 0.790 and the regression equation Y = 19.522 + 0.284 X1 + 0.477 X2. Based on the results of this study concluded that a hygiene life behavior can be improved through knowledge about the ecosystem and environmental ethics

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the implementation of the program to increase the added value and competitiveness of horticulture through APBN funds that have been implemented by the Directorate of Processing and Marketing of Horticultural Products at the Mulyatani Gapoktan in Brebes Regency. This program is expected to support sustainable agriculture in Brebes district. The government strongly supports the development of shallot cultivation in Brebes district, which is the largest center for shallot commodities in Central Java. Increased added value can be obtained by farmers at the time of starting cultivation, post-harvest to marketing. By doing good and correct cultivation, it can increase the productivity produced (18 tons/hectare). The use of organic materials and reducing the use of chemical pesticides in onion cultivation is a form of added value obtained by farmers because the production costs for purchasing chemical pesticides reach 8% of the costs incurred. then if done postharvest properly and correctly it can reduce losses (damage) that occur so that the product has a high selling value. The added value of shallots obtained by Gapoktan Mulyatani is apart from the cultivation and postharvest processes, as well as in the marketing process of fresh and processed forms (fried onions, crispy onions, and onion paste), so that the shallot business can support sustainable agriculture because of the shallot business process. starting from upstream to downstream. The purpose of providing postharvest infrastructure assistance and shallot processing facilities at the Mulyatani Gapoktan in Brebes Regency by the Directorate of Horticultural Product Processing and Marketing is to implement a program to increase added value and horticultural competitiveness to improve the welfare of members of the shallot farmer group. So that the results of this evaluation will be used as a reference that this program can still be continued by involving other agencies so that the program runs according to the targets to be achieved.

Abstract

The increase in the number of hospitals in Indonesia has resulted in an increase in medical waste. Hospital activities have resulted in an increase in B3 waste which manages various problems. This research focuses on finding solutions and strategies in the framework of optimizing solid medical waste (B3) management. In particular, the optimization of medical waste management (B3) services involves several special analyzes, namely: priority needs, opportunities and constraints, and innovative work formulation programs. This study utilizes the Interpreted Structural Model (ISM) method to generate a priority scale in the management of solid B3 waste. This study found an analysis of the priority needs of mass education for all employees regarding the handling of solid B3 waste. Analysis of opportunities to increase stakeholder awareness of the dangers of B3 waste. The priority for solving the problem is that the organizational staffing is not complete according to the job description.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate the sustainable management of the Cibodas Biosphere Reserve through the function of the Biosphere Reserve approach. Sustainable development in the Cibodas Biosphere Reserve requires sustainable analysis to become material for supporting periodic reviews document of the Cibodas Biosphere Reserve Management and the Indonesian Man and Biosphere Programme National Committee. The method uses the Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) method with the stages of determining the attributes in each dimension. Which are: ecological dimensions (carbon stock, environmental services, sustainability of natural resources and ecosystems, and reduction of disasters), economic dimensions (poverty reduction, strengthening of the community economy, opportunities employment and branding) and the social culture dimensions (access to SDA, sustainable development education, health services / services, as well as science and technology, and innovation). Based on the results of the Rap Analysis, Leverage Analysis and, Monte Carlo, both in the ecological, economic and socio-cultural dimensions, the CBC sustainability index (IK) value is above 75.01 on a scale of 0-100. So, it can be concluded that the management of Cibodas Biosphere Reserve is currently very sustainable.

Abstract

Indonesia is known as one of the countries with the highest biodiversity in the world, this research was carried out from November 2020 to January 2021 in the Sipurak area, Merangin district, Jambi province. Camera traps are installed on tree trunks with an average height of 30 - 45 cm above the ground, the camera position is facing the path at a distance of 2.5 meters from the edge of the path and calculates the direction of light coming. The results of this study found 20 species of wild animals from 13 families, with a total of 201 independent event (IE) photos with the highest relative abundance of animals, namely, (Tupai javanica) of 12.95% and the lowest animal of Sumatran tiger (Panthera tigris sumatrae) by 0.72%.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to describe and analyze the relationship between disaster knowledge and environmental leadership in dealing with floods and with flood disaster preparedness behavior in \with a total of 10,688 people. The sample was taken using a multistage proportional random sampling technique, namely choosing a village that was used as the sampling area and then choosing an area that was very prone to flooding, so that the Awio Village was selected with a sample of 30 respondents. The questionnaire consists of three instruments, namely the flood preparedness behavior instrument (30 questions), the disaster knowledge instrument (26 questions) and the leadership instrument (29 questions). Rating scale with five answer choices that have the lowest value of 1 and the highest value of 5, namely for positive statements and for negative statements otherwise. The results showed the relationship between knowledge and leadership simultaneously (F=280,802,sig=0,000, p0,05). The partial relationship of disaster knowledge contributes individually and significantly to disaster preparedness behavior (ꞵ=0.097, sig=0.028, p0.05) and leadership also contributes individually and significantly to disaster preparedness behavior (ꞵ=0.954, sig=0.000, p0.05). The results showed that the level of community knowledge was still low, because they did not know about the causes of the flood disaster (60% of respondents), the level of leadership was still low, it was seen that disaster preparation planning had never been carried out (50% of respondents), and the behavioral dimension was still relatively low with the percentage behavior does not care about the preservation of nature (40% of respondents). The study recommends collective leadership so that each individual will complement each other according to their strengths, so that it will increase the effectiveness of each phase of disaster management that has been planned.

Abstract

This research aims to 1) Describe environtmentally friendly lifestyle towards resistance facing the disasters, 2) Describe social media usage towards resistance facing the disasters, and 3)Analysis environtmentally friendly lifestyle and social media usage towards resistance facing the disasters. This research use qualitative metode that intend to understand real overview between environtmentally friendly lifestyle and social media usage towards resistance facing the flood natural disaster that already applied by Dompet Dhuafa Volunteer Community. The data collected through closed questionnaire (40 respondents), 6 written interview with affected resident, and 7 respondent through direct interview and written, that consisct of Disaster Media Online Editor, Expert, Academic, and Government. The result of this research is found fact that an environtmentally friendly lifestyle is one of social intervention strategies aimed to reduce the risk of flood and support establishing the resistance to facing flood disaster. Beside it, online media also giving information access, socialitation, and education related to disaster with interesting contents like infographic, short movie, as well as the other content so that it has a direct impact on people’s understanding of what kind of mitigation measures should be taken to reduce the risk of flood disaster.

Abstract

The Seribu Islands National Park (Taman Nasional Kepulauan Seribu - TNKpS) which has a marine ecosystem area that has the potential to be affected by oil spills originating from oil discharges from ships passing through the Sunda Strait and ship accidents in and out of Tanjung Priuk Port. In addition, in the TNKpS area there are also oil and gas mining companies as well as oil distribution through pipelines which have the potential to cause oil pollution due to leakage of oil distribution pipelines. The availability of maps of Environmental Sensitivity Index and comprehensive environmental data is important for the government to understand the condition of sensitive areas around oil and gas mining areas to mitigate environmental pollution due to oil spills, and can then take priority actions. to protect areas deemed sensitive. The compilation of thematic maps related to environmental sensitivity to oil spills in TNKpS shows that the beach type is not sensitive to oil spills, where the dominant beach type is gently sloping sand which is a substrate that is easy to clean when an oil spill occurs. While the component of biodiversity has the highest sensitivity. The most sensitive socioeconomic components affected by the oil spill are fish farming and marine tourism (snorkeling and diving), both of which are the main livelihoods for the people in TNKpS, especially from the tourism sector. Mitigation of oil spills in TNKpS should focus on dealing with oil spills before reaching sensitive areas where oil collection with skimmers and spraying of dispersants can be carried out before entering the coral reef area. The next step is the protection of sensitive areas from oil spills where this protection can be done by dispelling using an oil boom and directing the oil spill to a less sensitive area. The final step is cleaning the beach area in accordance with oil spill emergency response procedures. Spill simulations carried out with a duration of 3 hours, 5 hours and 24 hours showed that the oil spill had not yet reached the sensitive area when it was 3 hours, so that the ideal anticipatory oil response is to have an oil control exercise with a duration of 3 hours to protect sensitive areas.

Abstract

Garbage is a classic problem causing environmental and ecosystem damage in every region, including in Bogor City. Plastic is one of the largest types of inorganic waste that causes ecosystem damage. In one day 1,7 tons of plastic waste are produced from a modern shopping center in Bogor. Several attempts were made to reduce the volume of inorganic waste. Since July 2018 the Regional Government of Bogor City has issued a regulation restricting the use of plastic bags in the modern market as an effort to reduce inorganic waste, especially plastic waste. Forecasting the volume of inorganic waste after the enactment of this regulation is needed as an evaluation step. The double exponential smoothing hole model is suitable for linear data trends. This is in accordance with the condition of inorganic waste volume data which tends to have a linear trend. Forecasting produces parameter parameter values α (level) 0,78 and γ (trend) 0,09 also MAPE 7,25%. The forecast results show that the volume of inorganic waste tends to increase in 2020. In order for this regulation to be optimal, it is necessary to consider applying these regulations not only in the modern market but also in the traditional market. In addition, it is also necessary to find an alternative to substitute for plastic so as not to switch to other inorganic types.
