Abstract

Learning at school is generally given in two forms, namely intracurricular and extracurricular. These two factors can influence student learning outcomes. This research aims to find out how extracurricular activities in the form of Musholla-loving students at school have a positive effect on students' learning outcomes. This research is qualitative and uses SMAN 1 Parigi as the research location. The research sources were five people, consisting of supervisors, two of Musholla lovers students, and teachers. The results of this research found that the extra-curricular activities carried out through the Musholla loving students at SMAN 1 Parigi were divided into four forms of activities: a. daily activities, such as congregational midday prayers, kultum after midday prayers, and cleaning the prayer room; b. weekly activities, such as morning dhikr and yasinan, which are held on Fridays. This activity was followed by a cult c. monthly activities, such as ta'lim and mabit. Mabit activities are marked by staying overnight at school, which contains activities studying the Koran and Hadith, collective dhikr, and evening prayers; d. annual activities, which are divided into spiritual and social activities, such as celebrating Islamic holidays, Islamic boarding school, sharing iftar, and breaking the fast together, as well as social service. Another finding in this research is that students who actively participate in extracurricular activities can fulfill learning objectives as well, especially in semester exams and other formative exams. This shows that extracurricular activities at school can strengthen and improve student learning outcomes, as well as strengthen their social and religious behavior.

Abstract

The large number of published studies related to religious learning achievement in the cognitive domain certainly raises questions in the minds of research users, especially if the conclusions produced vary from one study to another. Therefore, to find out the average of students' religious learning achievement in Indonesia on the cognitive aspect, it is necessary to carry out a meta-analysis. The meta-analysis in this study aims to determine the average effect size of the aggregate Islamic learning achievement of students in Indonesia. This research uses a quantitative approach using meta-analysis. Research data was collected from various studies including journal articles, theses and student theses from 2009-2023 which were obtained through internet searches using the keyword Islamic learning achievement. The results of the research show that the average Islamic learning achievement of Indonesian students is 83.00 with a standard error of the weighted random model of 1.526 with a combined average score of 80.05 and an upper limit of 85.95. This shows that the ability/achievement in learning the Islamic religion of Indonesian students at the elementary to middle school levels has exceeded the minimum completeness, namely 75. Based on the Regression Method and Trim and Fill analysis, it was found that there was no publication bias. So the conclusions made based on the random effect model regarding the average cognitive abilities of students are valid.

Abstract

The main focus of the research is to describe the main concepts of transactional learning and transformational learning. Research was carried out through literature studies, with data collection using a "thematic" or "conceptual categories" approach where the results of the study of various references were organized according to topics or issues. The results of the research show that in transactional learning, the existence of the teacher has complete authority, occupies a central position, has advantages and knows everything, while students are in a position of not knowing, and therefore learning is indoctrinative, top down, centralized, prioritizing intellectual aspects, success learning is measured on the knowledge mastered by students cognitively. Transformative learning places greater emphasis on social and cultural transformation in students, so that they have the ability and insight to face and solve problems. The existence of teachers in transformative learning is actually parallel to the existence of students. Teachers and students are learning subjects and the object is reality. Transformative learning places dialogue as the main method in learning, and therefore the existence of teachers and students learn from each other.

Abstract

This study aims to implement a learning design based on technological pedagogical and content knowledge (TPACK) on the concept of rotating object. The research subjects were students of class XII IPA SMAK Santo Bonaventura Madiun. The data were obtained from observations and student test results in completing the concept of rotating object. This research is a development research. Mathematics is still considered a difficult subject by some students. For elementary and middle school level mathematics, it is still possible to deliver it based on students' experiences in everyday life. For the senior high school level, the concept of rotating object is difficult to imagine because it requires a higher understanding. Therefore, it is necessary to design learning that can provide direct experience to students. TPACK is learning that uses a combined application of an education system that prioritizes technology and certain applications (content) in learning. In implementing TPACK-based learning, there are several things to pay attention to, namely aspects of pedagogy, content, and technology. The findings of this study indicate an increase in student learning outcomes in the rotating object concept

Abstract

This research aims to develop a strategic planning model based on the Total Performance Scorecard (TPS) to enhance educational quality. The research method employed is developmental research involving analysis, design, development, implementation, and model evaluation. The study addresses challenges in formulating school strategic plans that currently do not meet theoretical standards and lack synchronization among plan components. Findings indicate suboptimal alignment with theoretical standards and lack of synchronization among plan components, reflecting minimal involvement from school stakeholders. As a solution, a TPS-based strategic planning model was developed involving all educators to fill out Personal Balanced Scorecards, while administrative staff filled out Organizational Balanced Scorecards. Discussions involving supervisors, school inspectors, and the school committee through Focus Group Discussions produced a SWOT analysis used to formulate the school's vision, mission, goals, objectives, key roles, strategies, and programs for the next five years. Implementation of this model will occur following operational and theoretical validation in the field, with plans to develop TPS-based strategic plans by 2028. Implications of the research highlight the importance of strengthening the strategic planning process at SD Negeri 61 to align more closely with theoretical standards and integrate plan components. Active engagement of all school stakeholders is expected to improve understanding and acceptance of the strategic plan, ensuring that the school's vision, mission, goals, and strategies reflect their needs and aspirations. The development of this model is anticipated to effectively address educational dynamics and future challenges, enabling the school to play a more optimal role in enhancing educational quality.

Abstract

Communities of Practice (CoP) aims to provide services and skills to partner communities while also establishing links to communicate learned knowledge to broader groups of people. This study identified and analyzed the impact of communities of practice in Barangay Nagtenga, Sta. Cruz, Ilocos Sur. It used a mixed quantitative and qualitative study approach to evaluate the level of satisfaction of the 18 CoP participants as well as their CoP learning and experience. The data demonstrated high levels of CoP satisfaction, notably with resource speakers and the quality of service provided. Participants shared their learning experiences during the CoP, focusing on themes such as knowledge acquisition, skill development, learning transfer to practice, and entrepreneurial management. This study emphasizes the importance of CoPs in empowering marginalized groups and promoting personal and professional development. Recommendations include maintaining and growing CoP initiatives, as well as conducting frequent evaluations to ensure continuous improvement.

Abstract

This research focuses on the potential of the Communities of Practice (CoPs) that might be utilized to bring back the out-of-school youth (OSY) to formal schooling. Even with the attempts to increase enrollment in schools, some of the Filipino youths still have no access to education, and still have difficult life struggles that include loss of jobs and social exclusion. This study discusses the experience and issues with which OSY encounter in CoPs and comprises the valuable prospects for them further. The exploratory research question of the study depicts the experiences of OSY within CoPs in terms of the sense of belonging, social connectedness, and perceived upcoming possibilities. It also narrows down challenges like; they lack financial capital, or have lack of access to services. Subjects of the study were selected within the area of Barangay Nagtenga, Sta. Cruz, Ilocos Sur. Participants and observations were obtained through interviews, and fundamental trends such as isolation, restricted social relationships, and low earnings were identified. From the study, there is a recommended plan on how to bring about the CoPs that focus on the learning from peers, skills enhancement, and community activities for the enhancement of OSY. This research clearly brings out the significance that can be achieved through community-Based strategies in re-engaging and promoting out-of-school youth.

Abstract

It is common and often happens when the teaching and learning process occurs; students feel bored with learning. Teachers must be more creative in finding out the way to create more enjoyable learning. This study aims to understand the implementation of ice breaking so that every learner uses ice breaking to know the supporting factors and to overcome the inhibiting factors. This study uses a descriptive-qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were teachers as class teachers and class I.A. students. Data collection techniques in this study used interviews, observations, and documentation. The validity of the data in this study used source and technology triangulation. The interactive analysis model was used for data analysis in this study and was carried out in four stages: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that students were thrilled and interested in using ice-breaking in the teaching and learning process, which was carried out at the beginning, middle, and end of learning. Students' very high interest and interest affect student learning outcomes so that students can understand the learning material faster. For subsequent researchers, it is hoped that they can apply and find out about the types of ice breaking that can overcome student boredom and restore students' interest in learning.

Abstract

Indonesian students still have difficulties learning writing skill. The students may produce many errors in writing text. Such as in structure, there are no tenses in Indonesian, so many students are confused about using the right tenses for their writing assessment. The objective of the research is to find out the effectiveness of using Instagram Caption to improve students writing skill. This research is designed in quantitative descriptive. The data are collected by questionnaire, interview, and writing test. To analyze the data, the researcher look at the result of writing test. The result shows Instagram Caption effectively to improve students writing ability. In addition, Instagram Caption make the students more interested and explore their ideas into writing ability.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the partial and simultaneous effects of competence and compensation on the performance of academic staff employees within the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Keguruan UIN Alauddin Makassar. The research method used is quantitative research method with data collection techniques through questionnaires. Research data were taken from 52 academic staff employees within the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Keguruan. The results showed that competence had a significant effect on employee performance with a t-count> t-table value of 2.187> 2.0098, and the significance value was 0.034 <0.05. Compensation also has a significant effect with the value of t-count> t-table is 2.217> 1.0098 and the significance value is 0.031 <0.05. Simultaneously competence and compensation have a significant effect with the value of F-count> F-table is 17.814> 3.18 and the significance value is 0.00 <0.05. The contribution of influence or determination of competency and compensation variables to the performance of academic staff employees in the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Keguruan is 42.1%.
