Abstract

This research is motivated by the challenges of ecotourism management in West Java, which despite its great potential, still faces problems of ecosystem degradation and suboptimal destination management. This study aims to develop a technology-based smart ecotourism model by integrating environmental, social, and economic aspects simultaneously, as a novelty from previous studies that generally only emphasize one aspect of management. The method used is a quantitative approach through a survey of 150 respondents consisting of ecotourism managers, tourists, and local communities in several leading destinations in West Java. Data were collected using a 1-5 Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using validity and reliability tests, multiple linear regression, and path analysis with the help of SPSS 22. The results showed that the use of technology has a positive and significant effect on ecotourism sustainability (R² = 0.801, p < 0.05), but does not have a significant effect on the socio-economic impacts of the community, and ecotourism sustainability was not proven to mediate the relationship. The research conclusion emphasizes that technology integration needs to be accompanied by community empowerment programs to make socio-economic benefits more tangible, with recommendations in the form of increasing digital literacy, developing community-based platforms, and regional policies that support technology synergy and local welfare.

Abstract

Palm sugar is one of the leading products of Citengah Village, Sumedang Regency, this innovation aims to process palm sugar into ant sugar coffee, which is an instant product in the form of dry crystals resulting from a combination of palm sugar and coffee powder. The method used was a household-scale experiment with stages: cooking of palm sugar solution, mixing of local coffee grounds, crystallization, and drying at 90–100°C. The results showed that the product had a smooth crystalline shape, dark brown color, a distinctive aroma of coffee and palm sugar, and was easily dissolved in hot water. Organoleptic tests on 20 respondents showed a preference level of 85%, especially in taste and aroma. This product also has a shelf life of more than three months without preservatives. The innovation of ant sugar coffee not only increases the added value of local palm sugar, but also opens up new market opportunities for natural instant drink products. It is hoped that this product can be an alternative to typical Sumedang souvenirs while supporting the economic empowerment of the village community.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a significant role in the Indonesian economy, as they can absorb a large workforce and contribute significantly to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). However, many MSMEs still face significant challenges, particularly regarding legal aspects, lack of market access, and inefficient business management. This study aims to evaluate the impact of government support, business legitimacy, and market access on improving the level of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Bekasi Regency. This study employs a quantitative approach using a survey method involving 120 micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) actors participating in a capacity-building program. Data were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach. The research findings indicate that government assistance has a positive and significant impact on improving the level of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Similarly, access to the market has been proven to have a significant positive impact on the advancement of MSMEs. Conversely, business legitimacy does not have a significant impact on increasing MSME levels.

Abstract

Healthy snacks are often one of the forgotten options for some people, with the mindset “Healthy snacks are not tasty, healthy snacks are tasteless.” However, not all healthy snacks are bland, it's more about the food we eat with the original or natural flavour of the food itself and no MSG added to the food. As awareness about the importance of healthy eating increases, there is a need to change consumer perceptions that healthy snacks are also delicious. Besides, there are some consumers who are confused to find healthy yet tasty snacks. In this case, an analysis of consumer perception for healthy snacks in Batam city will be conducted. This research will use qualitative methods in the form of interview, observation and the design thinking approach. The design thinking approach includes the stages of empathize, define, ideate, prototype and test to understand consumer needs and formulate problems. With this method, it is expected to create solutions to consumer perception for healthy snacks and provide one example of a healthy snack product idea.

Abstract

This study investigates the effects of website design, reliability, and perceived ease of use on customer e-retention in Indonesian e-commerce marketplaces, incorporating customer e-trust and e-satisfaction as dual mediators. Using a quantitative, causal research design, data were collected through an online survey from 294 users of major e-commerce websites, including Shopee, Tokopedia, Lazada, Blibli, and Bukalapak. The analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0. Results reveal that website design significantly enhances both customer e-trust and e-satisfaction but does not directly influence e-retention. Reliability has a significant direct and indirect effect on e-retention through trust, while perceived ease of use impacts e-retention primarily through satisfaction. Furthermore, customer e-trust significantly mediates the effects of website design and reliability on e-retention, whereas customer e-satisfaction mediates the effects of website design and perceived ease of use. The model explains 69.6% of the variance in customer e-retention, demonstrating substantial explanatory power. This research contributes to the understanding of how interface quality and psychological mechanisms jointly drive long-term customer behavior in e-commerce. Practically, the findings highlight the importance of enhancing visual design, maintaining service reliability, and simplifying usability to strengthen trust, elevate satisfaction, and sustain customer loyalty.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Muslim-friendly hotel attributes on the satisfaction of Muslim visitors in Bandung City. The independent variables studied include worship facilities, Islamic entertainment, halal food, Islamic clothing, and Islamic morality, with visitor satisfaction as the dependent variable. The study used a quantitative approach with a survey method of 164 respondents who had stayed at Sharia hotels in Bandung. Data analysis was performed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) through the WarpPLS application. The results showed that three variables, namely Islamic entertainment, halal food, and Islamic morality, had a positive and significant effect on visitor satisfaction. Conversely, the variables of worship facilities and Islamic clothing had no significant effect. These findings indicate that visitor satisfaction with sharia hotels is more influenced by the religious and moral values applied by the hotel than by physical or symbolic attributes alone. The Islamic morality variable is the most dominant factor in increasing satisfaction, indicating the importance of applying Islamic ethics in hotel services. Theoretically, the results of this study reinforce the concept of Islamic hospitality, which emphasizes the importance of integrating spiritual values and service quality in halal tourism.

Abstract

The phenomenon behind this study is that some employees of Next Hotel Yogyakarta still focus primarily on their main tasks and have not fully demonstrated extra-role behaviors, such as helping colleagues or taking initiatives beyond their formal responsibilities. This condition indicates that organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) has not yet been optimal within the work environment. This study aims to analyze the influence of transformational leadership, work engagement, and quality of work life on organizational citizenship behavior. The research employs a quantitative approach involving 50 employees of Next Hotel Yogyakarta, who were selected using a census sampling technique. Data were collected through a questionnaire distributed via a survey and based on indicators relevant to the variables studied. Data analysis was conducted using SmartPLS version 4.0 to test the relationships among variables. The results indicate that transformational leadership, work engagement, and quality of work life have positive and significant effects on organizational citizenship behavior. This study highlights the importance of improving OCB through the significant antecedents proposed.

Abstract

Improving educational quality in vocational schools requires effective leadership, competent teachers, and a positive school culture, as these factors shape teachers’ job satisfaction and performance. This study aims to analyze the influence of principal leadership, teacher competence, and school culture on teacher job satisfaction and its implications for teacher performance in public vocational high schools (SMK) across Greater Bandung, West Java. Using a descriptive and verifiable quantitative design with path analysis, the study involved 39 public SMKs and collected data through questionnaires administered using proportional stratified random sampling, resulting in a sample of 351 teachers. The findings show that principal leadership, teacher competence, and school culture are perceived as quite effective, good, and strong, respectively, while teacher job satisfaction and performance fall into the fairly high category. Path analysis indicates that principal leadership, teacher competence, and school culture each have a positive and significant effect on teacher job satisfaction. Furthermore, teacher job satisfaction positively and significantly influences teacher performance. These results imply that strengthening leadership, enhancing teacher competence, and cultivating a supportive school culture can meaningfully increase teacher job satisfaction, which subsequently improves teacher performance and contributes to sustained educational quality improvement.
