Abstract

The discussion results of Fundamental Physics I lecturing, especially the 1st Newton law about movement, law of Lenz, electromagnetic induction, and law of Bernoulli about pressure of flowing fluid show that in the concepts implicitly there is an action-reaction relation between objects. We could analogize these phenomena to the interaction between human being, in the contex of learning we can analogize it to the interaction between educator and students. When the interaction between objects softly occurs (“persuasive”) the reaction is not emerge but when it happen quictly the reaction emerges and it against the change caused by the action. The implementation of the discussion of Physics concept and analogy approach usefull to implant positive characters to the students. The positive characters include honesty, responsibility, respect, empaty, self restraint, modesty, patient, no despondently, diligent, love, and good samaritan, also make the values to be a habit in the mind, feeling, and in action.

Abstract

The simulation model of learning is the application of the principles of cybernetics in education is a human as a control system that is able to generate and control the movement itself through feedback. Learning model simulations applicable in the course of learning strategy with the aim to enable students abilities analogous to the process of cybernetics. The simulation model has four stages: orientation, training for participants, process simulation and stabilization or debriefing. Lecturer in learning tasks with the simulation model is as supportive of observing and helping students deal with problems that arise.

Abstract

This research aims to know the effect of using interactive multimedia towards concepts mastery and critical thinking skill of students on the material of temperature ang heat. This research is an experimental research that uses pretest-posttest control design. The sample of this research is grade XA and XB students of SMAN 1 Alas in the academic year 2013/2014 that determined by cluster random sampling technique. The instruments that used to collect the data are test sheets of mastering concepts is developed based on indicator of temperature and heat learning material on the sub topic of expansion, heat transfer and black principle. Meanwhile, the test of critical thinking skill is developed based on the indicator of argument analysis shows that mean score of concepts mastery of experimental group is 61% and control group is 54%. The result of t-test of concepts mastery and critical thinking skill shows that experimental group is significantly higher that control group. It means that the use of interactive multimedia has an effect towards concepts mastery and critical thinking skill of students on the material of temperature and heat.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the effect of problem based learning model with PhET media on the student’s results of physics learning of Xthgrade SMAN 1 Gunungsari in academic year 2015/2016. This research is a quasi experiment with nonequivalent control group design. The population of this research is all of Xthgrade student which amounted to 333 students, and the sample is the student at X.6 which amounted to 34 student as experiment class and student at X.7 which amounted to 35 student as control class. The sample was got by using the cluster purposive sample. The result of pre-test showed that the average value of experiment class is 34,35, while the control class around 43,66. The result of post-test showed that the average value of experiment class is 70,24, while the control class around 57,60. The study tested the hypothesis with t-test polled varians. Based on the result of hypothesis testing, tcount = 4,93 and ttable = 1,99 with significance level of 5% and tcount>ttable, then Ho rejected and Ha accepted. So can be concluded that there is an effect of problem based learning model with PhET media on the student’s results of physics learning of Xthgrade SMAN 1 Gunungsari in academic year 2015/2016.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect model of inquiry aided virtual laboratory to physical concept comprehension of students MA DI Putri Nurul Hakim Kediri the academic year 2015/2016. Experimental research design using "pre-test-post-test control group design". The population in this study were all students of class X MA DI Putri Nurul Hakim Kediri totaling 5 classes, while samples were students of class X.1 as an eksperiment class majoring in X.2 as a control class. The data collection concept comprehension using techniques shaped test multiple choice. The research hypotheses were tested by t-test polled variance variance with significance level of 5% that is a hypothesis which does not indicate a specific direction. The results showed that physical concept comprehension ability of students learning with virtual media-aided model of inquiry higher than those not using the model inquiry-aided virtual laboratory.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) the influence of Predict-Observe-Explain learning model (X1) toward students' physics learning outcomes (Y); (2) the influence of scientific attitude (X2) toward students’ physics learning outcomes (Y); (3) the effect of interaction between (X1) and (X2) on (Y). This research type is quasi experiment with factorial 2 x 2. Its population is all students of class XI IPA in SMA Negeri 6 Mataram years 2016/2017. Samples were taken using cluster random sampling technique and class XI IPA 4 as experimental class and class XI IPA 3 as control class. Data were taken using multiple choice tests with five alternative answers (learning outcomes) and questionnaires (scientific attitudes). The result data was analyzed using two way analysis of variance (anava) with 5% significant level. The results show that Fcount for influence (X1) = 4.58, (X2) = 25.92, and interaction between (X1) and (X2) is 0.05 with Ftable = 3.97. For the effects of (X1) and (X2) there is Fcount ≥ Ftable whereas the interaction effect between (X1) and (X2) is obtained Fcount <Ftabel. Based on the results of this analysis can be concluded that: (1) there is influence of Predict-Observe-Explain learning model toward student’s physics learning outcomes; (2) there is influence of scientific attitude toward student’s physics learning outcomes; (3) there is no interaction effect between Predict-Observe-Explain learning model with scientific attitude toward student physics learning result.

Abstract

Al-Zn doped SnO2 (Sn1-2xAlxZnxO2) film has been growth using the sol-gel dip coating technique. The basic materials used in this study were water, C2H5OH, SnCl2.2H2O, AlCl3 and ZnCl2 with 99% purity (merck) with doping concentration variation x = 0.000, 0.005, 0.025, and 0.050. Glass substrate with size 2.54 mm x 76.2 mm x 1 mm cleaned with detergent, soaked in 30% HCl solution For 1 day and dried at 100°C. The process of making a SnO2 sol is done by mixing the precursor with various concentrations with water and stirring using a magnetic stirrer for 30 minutes at a temperature of 80 ° C. The next step by adding ethanol, stirring at 80 ° C. for 2 hours to obtain 0.4 M sol solution The deposition of SnO2 film was carried out using a dip coater with a whitdrawl speed 12 cm/min and then heated for nucleation and grown using an electric furnace at 600 ° C for 30 minutes. This step is repeated as much as 5 repetitions to get the SnO2 film by doing Al-Zn.

Abstract

This research aimed at measure the effect of cognitive conflict approach on the mastery of physics concept of students. Cognitive conflict is an approach consisting of preliminary, conflict, and settlement phases. This quasi-experimental research uses non-equivalent group design. The population of this research was all XI IPA students of SMAN 6 Mataram in academic year 2017/2018. The sample was chosen using cluster random sampling, with XI IPA 1 as experiment class and XI IPA 2 as control class. The instrument used for concept mastery refers to students cognitive abilities (C1, C2, C3, C4, C5, C6). Hypothesis test using t pooled varians. The improvement of concept mastery is determined based on the results of the n-gain test. The results of research indicate the influence of cognitive conflict approach on the mastery of physics concept of students. In addition, the experimental class experienced an increased mastery concept higher than control class. This suggests the cognitive conflict approach applied successfully improves the mastery of the physics concepts of students, especially on sub material nature of material elasticity, Hooke law, and the arrangement of springs.

Abstract

There are many abstract concepts in physics. This raises its own difficulties in learning physics. The difficulty in teaching abstract concepts can be solved using computer technology. Computer technology presents opportunities for learning abstract concepts, such as through the use of interactive multimedia in learning physics. In this study has developed an interactive multimedia on the concept of electricity. This study aims to examine the impact of the use of interactive multimedia on student mastery of the concept of electricity. The results showed an increase in mastery of concepts in both classes. The highest increase occurred in the concept of Coulomb's law, which is 68.6% (experimental group) and 48% (control group). Mastery electric concept experimental group is greater than the control group, indicates that interactive multimedia effective in supporting the process of learning physics.

Abstract

Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) are essential skills for prospective teachers in the 21st  century. HOTS in the cognitive domain includes the ability in analyzing (C4), evaluating (C5), and creating (C6). In the process of mastering HOTS, one must know first what level of thinking skills he/she has. Therefore, this study aims to measure the achievement of the cognitive thinking skills of students of the Physics Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education University of Samawa. The measurement used test instrument in the form of essay test, then the results of the thinking skills achievement for each cognitive domain of students divided into three categories (low, medium and high). The result of  the student’s achievement of the cognitive thinking skills  obtained by students were in low category of 55%, the medium category of 11%, and 34% in the high category for mastering lower-order thinking skills (LOTS), while for HOTS, 100% was in low category and it can be concluded that the achievement of students' cognitive thinking skills is still in lower-order thinking skills.
