Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of problem based learning model with experiment method of the topic light on student’s physics learning outcomes of SMPN 2 Gunungsari academic year 2014/2015. The design of this study used experimental research with pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this study is students of grade VIII SMPN 2 Gunungsari, with sampling was using cluster random sampling technique. The samples are the students of class VIII A as experimental class and class VIII B as control class. Data results studying by test used is polled variance t-test. The results of the analysis of hypothesis test obtained tcount= 2,71 compared with ttable = 2,.02 at the significance level of 5%. According to criteria of hypothesis testing, if tcount > ttable, then Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. It can be concluded that there are effect of problem based learning model with experiment method of the topic light on student’s physics learning outcomes of SMPN 2 Gunungsari academic year 2014/2015.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of cooperative learning through problem posing approach to the students’ problem solving skills in terms of prior knowledge. The method used is a quasi-experimental method with 2x2 factorial study design. The study population was 163 students of class XI SMKN 9 Mataram scattered in 5 classes. These samples included 55 students, divided into two classes by cluster of random sampling technique. The research instrument is a test mastery of concepts and problem solving skills test given at the beginning and end of the study. The data was analyzed by Manova two ways. (1) students learn to use cooperative learning model with problem posing approach was significantly different in the aspect of problem solving ability than students who study with learning cooperative model only, (2) students who have high prior knowledge different significantly in aspects of problem solving ability compared students who have low prior knowledge, (3) there was not an interaction effect between learning model with prior knowledge of the problem solving ability students

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out the effect of conceptual scaffolding strategy in Group Investigation towards physics achievement of senior high school students with different prior knowledge levels. This research was quasi-experimental research with factorial design. The population of this research was all grade XI students of SMAN 2 Mataram. The sample of this research was choosen by a cluster random sampling technique, each class consisted of 39 and 38 students. The experimental group learned lessons by conceptual scaffolding strategy in Group Investigation while the control group learned lessons by Group Investigation. The students of each groups were divided into two category based on their prior knowledge, these were students with higher prior knowledge and students with lower prior knowledge. Two way analysis of varian (two way anova) was used as the data analysis technique. The result of this research are: 1) there is physics achievement difference between the students who learn lessons by conceptual scaffolding strategy in Group Investigation and the students who learn lessons by Group Investigation; 2) there is physics achievement difference between the students with different prior knowledge levels; and 3) there is no effect of interaction between the strategy and the student’s prior knowledge toward physics achievement.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian quasi eksperimen dengan desain non-equivalent control grup design. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas X MIA MAN 2 Praya. Sampel penelitian diperoleh siswa kelas X MIA-1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas X MIA-2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Data penelitian dianalisis dengan uji-t polled varians dengan taraf signifikan 5%, dan diperoleh hasil thitung =2,54  dan ttabel = 2,02. Oleh karena thitung >ttabel, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa model direct instruction berbantuan simulasi virtual berpengaruh terhadap penguasaan konsep fisika siswa

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of problem solving Polya model assisted by LKPD on the ability to analyze the physics of students. Type of this research is quasi experimental with research design untreated control group design with pre-test and post-test. The population is all students of class X. Samples are taken by using purposive sampling technique, so that the class X of MS 1 as experiment class and class X MS 2 as the control class. The analytical ability is measured by a written test in the form of a description. Based on the research result, the average value of the ability to analyze the experimental class students is 60,16 while the mean of the ability to analyze the control class is 41,53. The data capability of analyzing both classes is normally distributed and both homogeneous. Based on the test of hypothesis test-t polled variance, obtained tcount of 3.681. The ttable value for the data analysis ability of 1.996, at a significant level of 5%. The value of tcount is greater than ttable, meaning that there is influence of problem solving Ploya model with LKPD help on the ability of analyzing the physics of the students.

Abstract

Learning physics is not only produces a good learning outcomes, but requires the understanding, reasoning ability and conceptual understanding to solve the problems. Efforts that can be done to design a good learning is to mapping the ability of the learners. In this research, mapping of preservice physics teacher’s reasoning ability profile to know the description of the ability of spatial reasoning, logical reasoning and analytical reasoning. This is descriptive research. The population of this study includes all of students of physics education at Mataram University with the number of respondents as many as 125 students from the proportionally selected from each grade. The result of simple descriptive statistic test shows that students have higher spatial reasoning ability compared to logical and analytical reasoning ability as indicated by average score of reasoning ability test. Spatial reasoning skills of prospective teachers’ are also analyzed on the basis of their indicators. The highest scores is on the ability to complete the pattern and the lowest score is on the relation and logical consistency.

Abstract

Abstract – The aim of this research is to know the impact of the applying of problem-based learning with animation toward the critical thinking skill and result of learning physics of student of SMAN 5 Mataram academic year 2016/2017. This research is belong to quasi experiment with pretest-postest control group design. The population is all student of XI MIPA at SMAN 5 Mataram, while the sample are class XI MIPA 4 as the experimental class, and the XI MIPA 6 as control class. The sample taken by the random sampling. The collect of data is done by give the test, 20 multiple choice to knowing the result of learning phyisics and 5 essay for knowing the student’s critical thinking skill. The collected data has been analyzed by using the -test. The result of this research shows that (1) there is an impact of the applying of problem-based learning with animation toward the student’s critical thinking skill that includes the ability in: (a) focusing the question, (b) analyzing the argument/identificating the reason, (c) inducing and considering the result of induction, (d) evaluating the result of consideration, (e) giving the reason; (2) there is an impact of the applying of problem-based learning with animation toward the student’s result of learning physics that includes the result of learning in the cognitif area that follow the Bloom’s taxonomy, that is C1 till C6 (remembering, knowing, applying, analyzing, evaluating, and creating).

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the applying of problem-based learning with computer simulation toward the critical thinking skills of pre-service physics teachers. This is necessary because critical thinking skills do not develop without the explicit and deliberate effort invested in its development. The combination with computer simulations are considered essential to overcome the difficulties learn abstract concepts in physics. This is research an experimental research. The subjects of this study were students at the Department of Physics Education, FPMIPA IKIP Mataram. The research instruments are test of critical thinking skills and questionnaire. The results showed a significant difference between students' critical thinking skills experimental class and control class, where an increase in the experimental class is higher than the control class. Students also gave a positive response to a given model.

Abstract

This is quasy experiments research aimed to find out the differences of physics study result through problem based learning model with comic physics assist and conventional learning on students of grade VIII SMPN 1 Labuapi in academic year 2013/2014. This research used design of Posttest Only Control Group Design, while the sampling technique used is cluster and purposive sampling. Population of this research is students SMPN 1 Labuapi of grade VIII while the sampling are the students of grade VIII B as experiment group and the students of grade VIII C as control group. The data of this study is analyzed by using two tail t-test of polled varians, those are 6,25 for  thint and 2,0294 for ttable with degree of freedom 36 and significantce 5%. This result ( thint > ttable ) H0 will be rejected and Ha will be accepted which indicates that the physics study result through problem based learning model with comic assist is different from that through conventional learning on  students of grade VIII SMPN 1 Labuapi in academic year 2013/2014.

Abstract

Magnetic susceptibility measurements have been performed in 6 holes hole (ROM-001, ROM-002, ROM-003, ROM-004, ROM-005, dan ROM-006) in Elang, Sumbawa. This study aimed to determine the correlation between magnetic susceptibility in holes. Magnetic measurements were performed using Suceptibility Meter KT-10. Data processing is done by using software Oasis Montaj Drillhole Plotting to analyze correlations and relationships between holes. The interpretation shows that there’s correlation between magnetic susceptibility values with intrusion system of phorphyry Cu-Au. The highest range of magnetic susceptibility value is in Chlorite Sericite Zone (pgm) 0.19x10-3 SI to 1459x10-3 SI. From the magnetic susceptibility values have been estimated position of the intrusion, which is in the ROM 006.
