Abstract

This study examines the influence of company size, the size of Public Accounting Firms (KAP), audit quality, and inflation on the value of companies in the transportation and warehousing sectors listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). Using a quantitative approach with an explanatory method to analyze causes and effects, this study took a population of 22 companies in the sector listed on the IDX during the 2020-2023 period. Through the purposive sampling technique, 44 observation samples were obtained which were analyzed by the multivariate regression method. The results show that company size does not have a significant influence on the value of companies in the transportation and warehousing sector. In contrast, the size of the KAP has a significant effect and suggests that companies audited by larger KAP tend to have higher company values, likely due to a better reputation in the eyes of investors. Meanwhile, audit quality and inflation did not have a significant impact on corporate value in this sector, indicating that external factors of inflation and variability in audit quality did not have much impact on the perception of corporate value for investors in this sector. Overall, although company size, KAP size, audit quality, and inflation are not all individually significant, these variables together still show an influence on the value of companies in the transportation and warehousing sectors listed on the IDX. These findings provide insights for management and investors in considering factors relevant to the company's value.

Abstract

Network-centric warfare (NCW) is a concept that prioritizes integration and interconnection between combat elements to improve operational effectiveness. One approach to achieve high interoperability is ESP-NOW communication with mesh network topology. ESP-NOW technology enables fast and efficient wireless communication between devices without Wi-Fi infrastructure or routers. This research implements a mesh network topology using ESP32 modules that support ESP-NOW, where each node can function as a repeater to facilitate communication between devices beyond direct range. Reliability and network coverage testing was conducted by measuring latency and throughput parameters, which showed an average latency of 15 ms and a throughput of up to 2 Mbps, sufficient to support tactical communications in real-time. Although the performance is satisfactory, the obstacles encountered include limited coverage in dense environments and signal interference, which affects the stability of the connection. The study illustrates how the integration of ESP-NOW with mesh improves interoperability within NCW, allowing military units to share real-time data, such as position coordination, situational information, and operational commands. Thus, this implementation has great potential in future military operations, strengthening the integration of combat units and situational awareness on the battlefield.

Abstract

This article aims to look at the representation of reality in language, especially in the context of using words to express emotions, focusing on the word "angry" in the Acehnese language. Natural Semantic Metalanguage Theory (MSA) is used as a theoretical framework to analyze the meaning of these words. The research method used is qualitative descriptive with data collection through interviews, textbooks, and videos in Acehnese. The results of the analysis show that the words used to express angry emotions in Acehnese, such as "bingeing", "cat", "dam", "tune", "as a", "chicken", and "lust", have basic meanings—the same but different in the context and intensity of emotional expression. The meaning component analysis highlights differences in the experience and expression of angry emotions and strengthens understanding of the variation and complexity of human emotions in specific cultural contexts. This research provides a deeper understanding of the role of language in representing emotional reality and enriches the study of emotional semantics in the Acehnese cultural context.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of e-education marketing strategies in developing educational institution customers at Bank Sumatra Utara Syariah. With a qualitative approach, data was obtained through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation studies from several educational institutions that are bank customers. The results of the study show that the e-education marketing strategy, which includes the provision of digital payment platforms, financing of educational technology infrastructure, and Sharia-based scholarship programs, significantly improves the efficiency of financial management and supports the digital transformation of educational institutions. This strategy has also succeeded in increasing the number and loyalty of customers from the education sector, especially Islamic-based educational institutions that respect Sharia principles in banking services. However, challenges such as limited technological infrastructure in rural areas and lack of service socialization still need to be overcome. This study concludes that the right e-education marketing strategy can play an important role in customer development and support the digitalization of education in Indonesia. The recommendations include increasing socialization and service innovation that is more in line with the needs of educational institutions.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effectiveness of planning the Main Equipment of the Weapon System (Alutsista) in meeting the operational needs of the Indonesian National Army (TNI). This study uses a qualitative method with the participation of 15 resource persons, including TNI representatives from various forces and defense experts with more than 10 years of experience. Semi-structured in-depth interviews were used to explore the main challenges in the planning of the Defense Equipment, supported by the analysis of related documents and literature. The results of the study identified three main challenges: budget constraints, ineffective inter-agency coordination, and evolving operational needs. Indonesia's defense budget, which is only 0.8% of GDP, shows a significant gap compared to neighboring countries, such as Singapore (3.2%). In addition, the lack of coordination mechanisms between the Ministry of Defense, the TNI, and local industries has led to inefficiencies in the procurement and maintenance of defense equipment. The impact of this challenge includes the limited operational readiness of the TNI, especially in Military Operations for War (OMP) and Military Operations Other than War (OMSP). The study recommends budget optimization of up to 1.5% of GDP, the establishment of an inter-agency integrated working team, and the integration of modern technologies such as drones, big data, and artificial intelligence in the planning of defense equipment. The implementation of these measures is expected to increase the effectiveness of the planning of the Defense Equipment in supporting the main tasks of the TNI and strengthening state sovereignty amid dynamic geopolitical challenges.

Abstract

The growing waste management problem, especially in developing countries, poses significant environmental, social, and economic challenges. This qualitative study, using an ethnographic approach, investigates community perceptions of waste, recycling’s potential as an income source, and innovative recycling strategies in Bone Regency, South Sulawesi. Bone Regency, a region with limited waste infrastructure and high levels of waste pollution, faces unique social and economic challenges in sustainable waste management. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observations, and document analysis involving community members and the Community-Based Solid Waste Management (CBSWM) initiative. Data analysis involved thematic coding to identify key patterns in perceptions, challenges, and outcomes. The findings reveal that community perceptions of waste shifted positively as they recognized its economic potential. Innovative strategies, including community-based waste management and social entrepreneurship, successfully generated income and promoted sustainable practices. Products such as organic compost, recycled plastic crafts, and construction materials demonstrate economic opportunities, though market access and scalability remain critical challenges. The study concludes that infrastructure improvements, expanded market opportunities, and policy support are essential for sustainable waste management in the Bone Regency. Future research should explore scalable recycling models, environmental impacts, and policy implications to support broader applications in similar regions.

Abstract

The Chinese government enacted the China Coastguard Law (CCGL) on 1 February 2022, consisting of 8 chapters and 84 articles. Several provisions within this law, particularly Articles 3, 20, 21, 22, 25, and 46-51 pose significant potential for conflict, especially with Indonesia. These articles regulate China’s maritime jurisdiction, the use of weapons, and actions against foreign vessels, which could heighten tensions in the South China Sea. This study aims to analyze Indonesia’s Integrated and Interactive Defence and Security Strategy (IITCA) in response to the threats posed by the CCGL. The research reveals that Indonesia has strengthened multilateral and bilateral defense diplomacy, protected fishermen’s rights, and enhanced its capacity to maintain regional peace and security, in line with the ASEAN Outlook on Indo-Pacific (AOIP). Indonesia has also involved civil society and academia in this integrative strategy. Transparency is maintained through public and international communication, including engagement with organizations such as the United Nations, WTO, ARF, and IMO, as well as cooperation with the fisheries and shipping industries. Control measures are implemented through Confidence-Building Measures (CBM), joint exercises with China and the US, and the reinforcement of maritime security through national and international cooperation. Accountability is ensured by establishing commissions, independent mechanisms, and regular audits and evaluations of defense policies. In addressing the CCGL, Indonesia must strengthen its defense human resources and develop more cohesive maritime policies to manage the escalating conflicts in the South China Sea.
